5: My Turn

“I think this is another game of hers, she must have given Mom something to make her this attached.” Ian paced to and fro in my room.

“If I didn't know before, I would have believed everything mom told us,” he added.

After my run with Ruby or whatever her name was, with me trying to choke her, Mom had sat Ian and me down as if we were still kids, threatening to do something important for us if we dared to lay our hands on Ruby. Well, I don't know who will break it to her that those tactics don't work on us anymore. We're almost 30, so it's high time she focuses her attention on Luna and Emrys.

Even before she took Luna and Emrys away, she made us promise we'd look after her and teach her things about the world as if Ruby wasn't pretending to be dumb. Of course, we can't disobey her, our old man is always there to exert lessons on her behalf. At their age, one will think their love for each other will dwindle, but nope. They can't keep their hands off each other even in our presence and it's disgusting watching or hearing your parents make out.

Taking advantage of what Mom said, I promised to take good care of Ruby and of course, would bring her back to Asteroy, it was only then mom left.

“Seriously? You're going to do as mom said?”

“No. You've given her three days. Let's see what happens before her time elapses. If she's pretending to be someone else, she'd try to escape, if not...she'd remain here.”

And just like I predicted, she sneaked out on the third day.

“Don't worry about escaping sister,” I drawled sarcastically. “No one is here to save you this time, let's finish what we started.” the way that came out got my wolf excited not in the usual way where the thirst of blood lust and fear of my prey courses through my veins, but my body reaction to hers.

She is even more pretty than that night, the image of her in a flimsy nightwear we saw from the past two nights bombarded my head all at once, even when I pretended not to see it through the CCTV cameras planted throughout the whole house. Especially when her big luscious breast and ass jiggle whenever she climbs the stairs after every dish.

Subconsciously, my eyes fell to her breast and that was when I noticed what she was wearing. I'd have spewed out the cup of water if I had drunk one.

Ian from the other side was also trying hard to contain his laughter.

To say I am shocked would be an understatement.

She seemed to be putting on dozens of clothes all at once. The ones I could see were the long-sleeved shirt, tailored with a piece of red long nighties, as if that ain't enough, she wore a crop top or something that looked like it, a jacket...

My eyes fell on layers of trousers and shorts she had on and almost staggered backwards. She finished the dressing by wearing a white G-string on the trousers – one which looked slacked due to the strain.

I'm very sure it belonged to Ivy.

Ruby, in essence, looked round which was cute, especially with the baby hairs clinging to her forehead. until my eyes met her innocent-looking ones causing the rage I'd been bottling up to fuel my system. One thing I hated the most was liars. Pretenders who think they can fool me, especially one who dares to not only drug me but steal something from me.

“Now...” I growled taking a step toward her and watching her recoil with several steps back only to bump into Ian who was now stark naked.

Startled, she jumped turning her attention to him.

“Your time is up, little red. Where is the dagger you took?" before she could escape, his hands snaked around her hair, yanking it back so she could look at up him.

She gasped, probably from pain.

“Dagger? I..I don't know what you're talking about.”

Ian pulled harder on her hair making her whimper.

Of course, I didn't miss the excitement he was getting through the twin bond, nor miss the twitching of his dick. He's also attracted to her, this redhead seems to have bewitched the both of us right from the start which makes me irritated. I, Ivan Alejandro Rodriguez have pride, especially as a royal hybrid but not only did she crush the pride once but she did it twice! Slipping away from my grasp despite the numerous guards.

That simply means an insult to any Alpha which is enough reason for anyone to be beheaded.

She can't be given a third chance to try it. I thought getting impatient with Ian.

His tactics weren't just it at all. As the male whore that he is, he was flirting with her. Did he forget how important the Dagger she took is?

I glared at him, getting up from the wall I was leaning on.

“Can you let go of me now? I have never seen you or him and even those halflings from two days ago. I promise! The only person I've seen before is Delaney when I was...”

"ENOUGH!”

Ian growled, shoving her to the ground making me nod in approval. Now that's how things are done.

Ruby fell hard on the ground, gasping as the pebbles pierced her hand. Her bright red hair fell on her face as she took a shaky breath. I thought she was finally going to reveal her true self, and her skills and fight Ian because anyone capable of entering the vault and coming is definitely a trained fighter. And the drugs she used in drugging us are ones used only by the Asesina (Assassins from the West.) They are skilled in what they do, their movement so swift and agile, you won't know what hits you till it happens.

However, Ruby glanced up at him with teary eyes and pouty lips making Ian hesitate in what he plans to do.

I could not help but roll my eyes and stormed to her dragging from the ground and walked to the gate. “It's my turn.”
