The snow had stopped falling.

It was the first thing I noticed after Lucean opened the front door to greet the sentries. My eyes looked up at the morning pink sky, and I shivered at the cold breeze that seemed to wrap around me. I could hear the faint sounds of birds chirping, and it seemed as if several people had shoveled around the area recently.

Snow still remained on the ground, but it was nearly not as deep as it had been a few weeks ago, and many people were frequently passing by with little struggle through the snow.

Hands suddenly reached forward to clasp my left hand and I jerked my attention to one of the male sentries. His own hands covered my own, and he held it gently as his head tipped downwards as he introduced himself; he was the one named Henri Williams.

I heard Lucean shifting behind me as Henri spoke, but I quickly returned my focus on the sentries before me as I shook hands with the other sentries as more introductions took place.
