I was only 17 when I realized the significance of my father's words: "Don't trust anyone." It was a lesson I would soon learn firsthand. Growing up in a family of immortals, I had always been warned about the dangers of humans. But I never thought I would encounter one who would change my life forever.

In the heart of the forest, I stumbled upon a boy living in a small hut. I often secretly visited him, watching from behind a tree as he went about his daily routine. I saw him struggle to learn how to use an ax from his father, and I was amazed by his determination and quick learning. There was something about him that drew me in, something that made me want to know more. Despite our vastly different worlds, I found myself drawn to him.

One fateful night, I saw him running from a pack of wolves. Without hesitation, I intervened, blocking the wolves' path and saving him. It was only later that I realized those wolves were my brothers. As the wolves retreated, the boy sat on the ground, looking up at me in awe.

"Are you okay?" I asked, offering him my hand. But instead of gratitude, he looked terrified and ran away. I was disappointed, but I shouldn't have expected anything else. After all, I'm an immortal, a werewolf. My father soon found out about the incident, courtesy of my brothers.

"How come Aria that you tried to make friends with that boy?" my father asked, his voice stern. My brothers had told him about the incident, and I knew I was in trouble.

"People are traitors, remember that, Aria," my brother Astrid warned. His words were laced with venom, and I knew he would never understand why I was drawn to the human. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had connected with the boy.

So, I returned to his hut, hoping to find him again. As I entered, I saw a family picture on the wall, and my eyes widened in surprise. He wasn't alone; he had a family. Just then, I heard a noise behind me. It was the boy, and our eyes met. I felt a sudden jolt of nervousness, and my heart skipped a beat.

He looked different up close, his eyes sparkling with a mixture of fear and curiosity. As we stood there, frozen in time, I accidentally dropped a picture frame, shattering it on the floor. The boy rushed to my side, concern etched on his face.

"Are you alright? Let me see it." His touch sent shivers down my spine as he took my hand. As he examined my injured finger, I felt an inexplicable sense of calm wash over me. But when he saw my finger heal instantly, fear crept into his eyes. I knew I had revealed too much.

Despite the awkwardness, we began to talk, and I learned his name was Slade. His father appeared, and to my surprise, Slade covered for me, telling his father that he was the one who broke the picture frame. As I prepared to leave, Slade's father asked if I was okay, and I felt a pang of gratitude towards Slade for protecting me.

I realized that I had misjudged him; he wasn't like the other humans I had encountered. From that day on, Slade and I became inseparable friends. We spent our days exploring the forest, sharing secrets, and supporting each other. As we grew older, we attended the same university, and our bond remained strong.

But as time passed, things began to change. Slade started spending more time with his mortal friends, and I felt a pang of jealousy. I realized that I had developed feelings for him, feelings that went beyond friendship. One night, I confronted Slade about his changing behavior.

"What's wrong with you? You're pushing me away. Have you forgotten everything we shared?" I asked, my emotions raw. But Slade's response cut deep.

"Aria, you forgot one thing – you don't own me. I'm not your world, and I can only offer you friendship. I have a girlfriend waiting for me." His words pierced my heart, and I felt a deep sense of hurt.

As I watched him walk away, I realized that my father had been right all along – humans are treacherous and exploitative. I felt betrayed, not just by Slade, but by my own feelings. In a fit of rage, I clenched my fists, and my eyes turned blue. The world around me darkened, and I saw only Slade.

"Slade," I called out, my voice barely above a whisper. As he turned to face me.

As I looked at Slade, I felt a surge of emotions that I couldn't quite understand. I was angry, hurt, and betrayed, but at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of longing. I wanted to be with him, to be close to him, but I knew that it was impossible.

I took a step back, trying to clear my head and process my emotions. But as I did, I felt a strange sensation wash over me. It was as if my body was changing, shifting into something new.

I looked down at my hands and saw that they were transforming into claws. My body was covered in a thick layer of fur, and my senses were heightened. I was no longer human, but a wolf.

I let out a loud howl, feeling the transformation take hold. I was no longer in control, but a primal instinct had taken over.

As I stood there, I saw Slade take a step back, fear in his eyes. He didn't understand what was happening to me, and I couldn't blame him.

But as I looked at him, I saw something that gave me hope. Despite the fear in his eyes, there was also a spark of curiosity. He didn't run away, but instead took a step closer.

"Aria, what's happening to you?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

I didn't answer, but instead let out another howl. The sound echoed through the forest, and I felt a sense of freedom that I had never experienced before.

As I stood there, I knew that I had a choice to make. I could continue down this path, embracing my true nature and the power that came with it. Or I could try to fight it, to hold on to my humanity and the life that I knew.

But as I looked at Slade, I knew that I couldn't go back. I had seen too much, experienced too much. I was no longer the same person that I had once been.

As I stood there, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. I knew that I had made the right decision, and that I was ready to face whatever lay ahead.

Slade took another step closer, his eyes fixed on mine. "Aria, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice filled with concern. "You're scaring me."

I felt a surge of emotion at his words, and I knew that I had to tell him the truth. "Slade, I'm hurt," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "You said you only see me as a friend, and that you have a girlfriend waiting for you. It hurts me to hear that."

Slade's eyes widened in surprise, and he took another step closer. "Aria, I...I didn't mean to hurt you," he said, his voice filled with regret. "I care about you deeply, but I didn't think it was possible for us to be together. You're a werewolf, and I'm human. I didn't want to put you in danger."

I felt a pang of sadness at his words, but I knew that I had to be strong. "Slade, I understand what you're saying," I said, my voice firm. "But I need you to know that I have feelings for you. I've had them for a long time, and I couldn't help but feel hurt when you rejected me."

Slade's eyes locked onto mine, and I saw a glimmer of hope there. "Aria, I...I don't know what to say," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I care about you too, but I'm scared. I'm scared of what could happen to us, of what could happen to you."

I took a step closer, my heart pounding in my chest. "Slade, I understand your fears," I said, my voice soft. "But I need you to know that I'm willing to take that risk. I'm willing to take the chance that we might not work out, that we might face dangers and obstacles along the way. Because the thought of being without you is unbearable to me."

Slade's eyes searched mine, and I saw a glimmer of hope there. "Aria, I...I don't know what the future holds," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I don't want to be with you. I want to take that chance, to see where this journey takes us."

I was taken aback by Slade's words. He didn't want to be with me? But his eyes had seemed to say the opposite.

"Aria, I'm sorry," Slade said, his voice firm. "I know you think you feel something for me, but trust me, you don't. You're just caught up in the moment."

I felt a stinging sensation in my eyes as tears began to form. "What's going on, Slade?" I asked, my voice shaking. "Why are you saying this?"

Slade's expression was cold and detached. "I have someone else, Aria. Someone I love. And I won't risk losing them for you."

I felt like I had been punched in the gut. Someone else? Who?

But before I could ask any questions, Slade turned and walked away, leaving me standing alone in the darkness.

And then, everything went black.

When I came to, I was lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by beeping machines and sterile white walls. A doctor was standing over me, smiling.

"Welcome back, Aria," he said. "You've been through a lot. But you're safe now."

I looked at him, trying to remember what had happened. But my memories were hazy and unclear.

And then, I saw something that made my heart skip a beat. A piece of paper on the bedside table, with a note scrawled on it in familiar handwriting:

"Goodbye, Aria. Forget me."

But whose handwriting was it? And what did it mean?

As I looked at the note, I felt a sense of unease. Something was off. Something was missing.

And then, I remembered something. A fragment of a memory, a glimpse of a face.

Slade.

But what had happened between us? And why couldn't I remember?

As I lay there, trying to piece together my memories, I felt a strange sensation inside me. A stirring of something ancient and primal.

The full moon was rising, and I could feel its power calling to me.

I was a werewolf, and I had done something. Something terrible.

But what?

As the moon rose higher in the sky, I felt my body begin to change. My senses grew sharper, my muscles stronger.

And then, everything went black again.

When I came to, I was standing in the middle of a forest, surrounded by trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky. The moon was still rising, casting a silver glow over everything.

I looked down at my hands, and they were no longer human. They were claws, sharp and deadly.

What had I done?

And then, I saw something that made my heart skip a beat. A figure standing in the shadows, watching me.

Who was it?

And what did they want from me?

As I stood there, frozen in fear, the figure began to move towards me.

And then, everything went black.
