The return of an old friend

2024-10-29 19:42:56Seraphina and Samira arrived in the late afternoon and booked a hotel but they had already decided on an apartment which was originally the apartment that Seraphina had chosen before they left Dinuh but they didn't move in immediately because Samira's room had to be arranged and their things had yet to be put in place they had to spend the night at the hotel hopefully the crew would be done by morning and they would have time to go shopping for kitchen utensils and foodstuffs and some other things that they would need .
The next morning they both checked out and headed out early , spending the early part of the day shopping before going back home and settling in , arranging closets and everyother things that came with moving into a new house
"Mira I have to go see Jason now before my parents find out that I'm in the country and start nagging me over my non-existent love life "
" I'm coming with you " Mira said picking up her purse
" No you're not . You might think you aren't popular here but you are , people will recognize you and the news will spread even before SW has a chance to release a statement regarding the issue . This was an abrupt decision on your part and in as much as the company doesn't have a problem with that it's best to give us time to announce it and come up with a reasonable story for PR reasons and press control "
"I hate it when you turn all competent CEO on me "Samira said with a laugh as she put down her purse " But I guess it's because I always seem to forget that my best friend is a business woman , so fine I'll stay at home but just for this week "
" Good , I will contact PR team and tell them to work on it but until then stay at home , we have a built in theatre and I know how in love with yourself you are so I made sure all of your movies and dramas available so you can spend the day staring at yourself " Sera said as she walked out the door

She drove her car to D Bell's head quarters , she considered calling Jason but she decided to surprise him instead , she walked in but was stopped by a young receptionist
"excuse me Miss " the young girl said as she walked up to Seraphina
" who are you here to see ? , do you have an appointment ?" she asked maintaining a forced smile
Seraphina looked at the girl that was probably her age or a year or two older possibly younger and she felt bad for the girl but she was also grateful as well , she was thankful to have been born into a family like hers and she pitied the girl who looked so tired but had to work such long hours for a barely substantial amount
" I'm here to see Jason " she said with a kind smile
" I'm sorry miss but I don't know who Jason is "
" My bad I meant Jason Bell , the president of your company "
The young receptionist looked at Seraphina again , she didn't look like all those gold diggers that usually came with a face caked with make-up to see the president wearing seductive dresses and looking like hostesses at a bar , the woman in front of her looked sophisticated in her simple jeans paired with a silk top and her hair packed into a ponytail so why was she looking for their president
" I'm sorry Miss but do you have an appointment ?"
Seraphina thought for a moment before replying
" No I don't "
" I'm sorry but you'll have to come back when you have made an appointment " she said ' and I actually thought she wasn't one of them ' the young receptionist said to herself
"uhmmm .. " Seraphina didn't know what to say because she was indeed without an appointment but she didn't think of that when she decided to surprise him , she began to wonder if she could call Aiden for help or she could just call Jason himself but a voice brought her out of her daze
" Miss Williams ?"
" Oh my God Charlie is that you , it's been so long " Sara said as she turned around
"I'm sure you are here to see President Bell , should I alert him of your presence or would you rather surprise him " Charlie asked with a smile
" The latter please " Seraphina replied as she followed Charlie into the elevator , they arrived at the Jason's office where the Charlie handed her over to Jason's assistant
" I'll have to leave you here Miss Williams because as you know I'm not authorized to go further "
"I've told you so many times to call me Seraphina"
" Yes miss Williams " Charlie said as she turned to Jason's assistant
" Take Miss Williams into President Bell's office , she's an old friend "
Seraphina let out a sign at Charlie's refusal to call her by her name but she still followed the assistant into the office to wait for Jason since he was at a meeting
" Is there anything you'd like to drink ?"
Ignoring the attitude Seraphina simply replied " coffee . Black "
Her coffee arrived a few minutes later and she sipped it as she tried to calm her nerves while waiting for Jason Bell .
" Excuse me President Bell " Beau said as Jason walked towards his office
" What is it beau ?" Jason asked impatiently , it was a tiring meeting with the shareholders complaining about every little decision while he did his best to calm reasonable worries and at the same time ignore foolish questions , He'd been in charge of the company for three years already and was steadily heading into his fourth and they'd made unimaginably profits , one would think they'd trust him by now but that wasn't the case they still questioned every move that he made and it pissed him off Everytime
" You have a visitor " Beau said gently
" Haven't I told you not to let people into my office when I'm not around !"
Hearing him about Beau immediately pushed the blame to Charlie
" Well Charlie brought her up personally and told me to let her in saying she was an old friend " she stuttered as if she was afraid and weak , the typical white lotus act
" An old friend " Jason repeated as he turned to walk into his office and his heart stopped when he saw the red haired woman sitting on his couch. 'I would know that woman anywhere' he thought as he walked into his office.
Seraphina stood up the moment she heard the door open and smiling at a stunned Jason she said
