Chapter 119

"shhh, no excuses, we both know it wasn't your fault so just stop...this was probably her fate. She was old enough to know that her actions would not bring her any good. 

The bad things we do in life always have consequences especially if one doesn't want to change.. the repercussions are never light or easy to deal with". 

Terry said as he comforted Camilla lovingly.

This night, Camilla found it difficult to have a peaceful night, each time she closed her eyes, the only thing she could see was Ariana laying in a pool of blood. 

Terry knew she wouldn't sleep, he stood up and went to the kitchen, made a cup of tea then added something to her tea that would make her sleep.

This was  the only way she could rest...

"darling, I made you a cup of tea, please have it" Terry spoke as he handed over the cup of tea to Camilla.

Camilla forced out a smile and got the cup of tea.

"Careful not to scald yourself, it's very hot," Terry said with a warm smile. Because of the tea, Camilla slept well without having any nightmares, the night passed and it was soon the next day.

On the other side, fortune felt like her life was moving at a smooth pace. Zack was very committed to his relationship with fortune, he took care of her and was  always there for her.

The news of Ariana's death was all over the news... Fortune was stunned upon seeing what was on the news. 

"fortune! fortune! did you see what's on the news?" Asia rushed into Fortune's room.

"she died all because she was trying to terminate her unborn child....she is so despicable, certain people deserve what they get. That innocent child is gone before it could even see the world, so heartless" Asia said with disdain.

Fortune was in shocked and got into deep thought..

it's obvious Ariana did this for money, she went as far as selling her body for money and got pregnant in the process. Why should girls sell themselves just to get money, why can't they focus on school, graduate then get a good-paying job that will make them independent, why must they always depend on men at the point of them selling themselves. We as girls have lost our self-respect just because we think it will be easier to have a backer than to work hard on our own and be independent. 

This is what our society has turned into if a girl completes her high school, the next step is for her to get married, despite having good results, her parents still marry her off. 

Only a few girls get the privilege to go to the university while the others get married and have children.

This girl had a chance to be in school but then, she ruined her own life in such a way.

Fortune sighed and shook her head helplessly. We always forget that we have only one life and it all depends on how we decide to live it. No one is born with a good life unless for those born in wealthy home's..either ways we work hard to make our lives better but it's a pity how people want to use shortcuts all the time.

"fortune, what are you thinking about? didn't you hear me?" Asia asked which made fortune snap out of her deep thoughts.

"I am sorry, I just think it's a tragedy seeing how a girl ruined her own life. This incident will just make parents out there feel like their decisions of marrying off their daughter's after high school is the best decision to make. it's really sad, she tried to take an innocent life, and now, she's dead" fortune said as she shook her head helplessly.

"I'm glad my cousin changed her ways on time, who knows, she might have ended up like her friend and the thing about change is that, it's something that a person has to do willingly, a person has to decide to change on themselves, that's when we can really see change but if a person is forced to change, all that you will see is pretence from them.

it seems Camilla's friend chose the wrong path and ended up making a mess out of her life" fortune said feeling pity for Ariana's tragedy.

Asia sighed "well, if she couldn't learn her lesson even after that scandal on the internet, then she deserves what she got. I for one don't pity her, neither am I sympathetic, her character took her to her early grave. There is no one else to blame except her" Asia said as she packed her bag pack.

Fortune knew Asia was right, she felt more determined to graduate from medical school. She felt that it was better to learn from other people's mistakes.

"fortune, what are you thinking about?" 

Fortune heard the familiar deep voice and knew that it was Zack. She raised her head subconsciously and was a little stunned.

Zack had casual clothes on, he stood beside Fortune with one hand in his pocket, he looked very attractive with his pecan brown skin that had a hint of marshmallow brown color... he smirked a little before he spoke "is this when you are realizing how handsome I am?" 

Fortune felt a little embarrassed, this guy was too much, I can't even look at him properly cause he keeps teasing me, goodness..

"Zack.. please don't start, you came so early, did something happen?" fortune asked as she prepared her bag, she noticed Asia's absence and looked around,

"where is Asia?" 

Zack gave Fortune a deep look, "I see you were completely immersed in your thoughts, you didn't even see your friend go out.. anywayz, she left upon seeing me, you will find her at school. come, let me walk you to school" Zack said as he led the way.

Fortune tapped her forehead and shook her head helplessly, I was so drawn into my own thoughts such that I didn't see Asia go out...

Zack and fortune walked out of the apartment, heading in the direction of Fortune's school...They were holding hands without a care of who saw them.

They soon arrived at the school gate, fortune turned and looked at Zack with a smile...
