View MoreAria’s POV"You thought betraying our pack would keep us safe?" Aria’s voice trembled; her hands clenched at her sides. "You’ve been working with her all this time?"Thalos shook his head quickly. "No! Not all this time. Just…just lately. After your first fight with her. She stretched out to me. She stated she could help me protect you... That she wouldn’t harm you if I cooperated." "So you told her where we were hiding?" Kael took a threatening step forward. "You led her right to us." "I didn’t know she’d bring an army!" Thalos yelled. "I didn’t know she’d hurt Elara or kill anybody! I swear!" "You knew what she was capable of." Aria's voice sounded like ice now. "You watched her try to kill me. You knew." A deep quiet fell. Elara arrived behind Aria, still pale and weak, but her look was full of wonder. “You betrayed us... after everything?” Thalos sank to his knees, unwilling to face any of them in the eye. “I tho
Aria’s POVThe mark on my chest glows once again as I move forward and raise my hands. Through the gloom, a ray of light emerges into the sky. It all stops for a second. Lyria freezes, too. Hissing at the light, the shadows contort and contract. The air grows warm like the dawn is breaking. Then a scream…no, a howl…cuts through the silence. Callum. He stumbles out from behind the battlefield, injured but he’s still alive, and I turn around just in time to see it. Even though his skin is scraped and bruised and his clothing is ripped, he fixes his intensely determined gaze on mine. He yells, "Aria!" and I dash to him, disregarding everything else. Our bodies collide, his arms encircling me firmly. He inhales, "I thought I'd lost you," "I thought you were gone," I gasped, clutching to him. But our reunion is cut short. A burst of black fire smashes the ground beside us, sending us flying apart. With a gasp, I hit the ground and rolled over to see Lyria stomping toward us.
Aria’s POVThe smell of blood and burning hung in the air as Aria stood in the middle of the ruined pack house. A glaring reminder of Lyria's fury, the once-vibrant center of their village now lay in ruins. Her heart hurt for Callum, whose fate was still unknown, for her pack, and for the lives lost. Thalos stepped forward, his face solemn. "We have to move quickly. The more time that goes by, the more powerful Lyria becomes. Aria nodded, her features stiffening with determination. "We need to find Callum and stop her before more lives are lost." With fear and determination imprinted on their faces, the remaining pack members assembled. They listened carefully as Aria explained their strategy: to find out where Lyria was going, to get Callum back, and to face the evil that was endangering their world. Aria took comfort in the forest's silence while preparations got underway. She was filled with both painful and consoling memories of her mother. She thought back to
Aria’s POV Xander moved protectively in front of her, but Lyria raised a hand. With a flick of her fingers, he was thrown backward into the lake. “Don’t worry, he’s not hurt. But you… Aria, you’ve made a mess. And now you’re too close to the truth.” Aria took a shaky step forward. “You’re the one who blocked Callum’s memories. You’re working with them…the shadows.” Lyria smiled. “Oh, darling… I’m not working with them.” Her smile faded into a cold sneer. “I created them.” Aria’s breath caught. Her knees nearly gave out. “You… you were my mother’s sister.” “And she was a fool,” Lyria spat. “She wasted her power. Gave it all to a weak child who doesn’t even know how to use it.” “You killed her?” Aria whispered, tears forming in her eyes. “I did what I had to. And now I’ll finish what I started.” She raised her hand again, shadows dancing around her fingers. The water around Aria started to churn violently. She screamed for Xander, but he was still unconscious.
Aria’s POV The moon hung low in the sky, sending a pale glow over the forest as Aria stood at the edge of the clearing. The old symbols etched into the ground glowed with a dim light, remains of the meeting with the Keeper. Her mind raced with questions about her mother's past and the ominous warning about the familiar face that would betray her. Back at the pack house, worry-filled the air. Callum lay asleep, his breaths shallow. Mira worked diligently, her hands sparkling with healing energy as she tried to fight the dark magic running through his veins. Xander paced nearby, his eyes never leaving Callum's face, while Ryder and Damian stood in the corner, deep in quiet talk. Aria entered the room, her presence drawing everyone's attention. "Any change?" she asked softly. Mira shook her head. "The curse is strong. It's taking everything I have to keep him stable." Aria nodded, her eyes moving to Ryder and Damian. "We need to talk," she said, leading them into the h
Aria’s POVThe cold night air wraps around me like a warning. The forest is quiet...too quiet. I can feel the stress in every step as Xander and I move deeper into the woods. He’s beside me, his eyes sharp, his body tense. Neither of us talks. There’s no need. We both feel it...something is watching us. After walking for almost an hour, we reach the clearing from my dreams. It looks the same. The tall, crooked trees. The stone circle. The black mark burned into the earth. My heart beats faster. This is it. This is where the voice had called me. I step into the circle slowly. The moment my foot hits the middle, the air changes. A low hum ripples through the ground, rising into my bones. “Aria,” Xander says behind me, his voice urgent, “something’s wrong.” I turn, but before I can speak, the ground under me glows. Runes...old, ancient symbols...light up around my feet. My body freezes. I can’t move. I can’t move. A dark person emerges at the edge of the clearing
I don’t know how long I stay cold in place, staring at the girl who stepped out from the smoke. The moonlight flickers off her pale skin, casting shadows that make her look almost… otherworldly. Her silver eyes shine with something dark, something far more dangerous than I could’ve prepared for. She’s not human. She has the same mark on her forehead that Victor did—the symbol of the shadows. It glows faintly like it’s alive. And when she smiles, it’s not a smile of kindness. It’s a twisted, almost predatory smile that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Xander’s low growl snaps me out of my shock. He’s changed into his wolf form, his muscles tight with a warning. His fur bristles and I know that he’s ready to protect me at any cost. But I can’t shake the feeling that this new threat is more powerful than anything we’ve faced before. “Who are you?” I finally manage to ask, my voice shaky but defiant. I grip the hilt of the sword I’ve kept by my side for protectio
Aria’s POV Everything is dark, Cold, and Empty. It’s like I’ve been pulled deep underwater, and no matter how hard I try to swim up, I just keep sinking. I can’t breathe. I can’t think. The shadows are everywhere—wrapping around me, whispering, pulling. But then… I hear a voice. Faint. Soft. “Aria… please… come back…” Is that not Xander? I say I try to move toward it, but my body won’t listen. It feels like I’m flying, stuck between two worlds…alive, but not really. Awake, but not here. “Don’t leave me…” the voice says again, full of pain. I know that sound It is Xander. I fight the darkness. I push through the cold. I dig deep and follow the sound of his words. And suddenly…Light. Blinding light bursts in front of me. I breathe like I’m taking my first breath after drowning. My eyes fly open, I’m lying on a soft bed, wrapped in thick blankets. A fire crackles close. The smell of flowers fills the air. My body aches everywhere, but I’m alive. And Xander is sitting beside me
Aria’s POV The ground trembles beneath my feet as the Blood Moon shines down. The red glow covers everything like a curse. The Temple of Echoes is no longer just a building…it's alive. Breathing. Waiting And the gate… it's opening. Shadows twist out from beneath the temple stairs, black and thick like smoke. They hiss and crawl, forming monstrous shapes…half-wolf, half-nightmare. Their eyes glow white. Their teeth drip with darkness. Victor stands at the top of the steps, watching me with a cruel smile on his lips. His voice cuts through the wind. “You feel it, don’t you, Aria? The pull. The power.” I shake my head. “No. I feel nothing like you. I’m not like you.” He tilts his head. “Aren’t you? You’re Selene reborn. You carry her magic, her memories. And deep down… you crave the power just like I do.” Xander snarls. He shifts into his wolf form again, his massive body glowing faintly with silver light. He growls and steps forward, ready to attack, But Victor doesn’t flinch. He
Weakest of Them Theme: Insecurity and IsolationAria's POV The fresh breeze swirls around me as I stand at the edge of the training grounds, watching the others. They’re aggressive, fast, and full of force, everything I’m not. The sounds of growls, grunts, and thuds fill the air as they practice their combat methods, their bodies moving with an ease I can only dream of. My chest tightens. I want to be strong, but deep down, I know I don’t belong here. “Come on, Aria, you should train with us,” Luna shouts out, her voice bursting through my thoughts. She stands boldly in the center of the group, her golden hair shimmering under the midday sun. She’s everything I’m not brave, skilled, and full of energy. I shake my head, taking a step back. “I’m not like you, Luna,” I mutter. “I’ll just make a fool of myself.” Luna’s stare softens as she walks over to me. “You won’t get stronger if you keep hiding,” she adds, resting a hand on my shoulder. “You’re part of this pack, Ari...
