3.Congratulations, You Are Pregnant.

Marcel's POV

I didn't want to go for lunch with Cindy but since my family was friends with the Hemsworth family, they wanted me so bad to marry Cindy but I didn't want her.I just saw her as a friend and they would use every chance they could to tie me to her.

“No, I will not make it to lunch with you I have stuff to handle here”I replied

“It is just lunch son, just go out with her. I believe work can wait it's just an hour break“dad said

Truth is there wasn't much work for me to do and I could leave this place and return anytime I wanted but I just didn't want to go out with Cindy.

“It's okay Uncle Charles. If Marcel can't make it maybe we'll do it next time” Cindy said with a tone of disappointment but I chose to ignore that.

“Thanks for understanding Cindy, next time will be fine”I said looking down at my laptop.

“My dear, can you wait for me outside, I'll be out in a minut” Dad said to Cindy.

After Cindy was out, dad looked at me like I had committed the most deadly crime ever.

“What?” I asked 

“Why is it so hard for you to understand? By this time you should be married but guess what, you are still here no girlfriend, no fiance. You don't want to get close to anyone think about our image for god sake. 

The people are going to start thinking that you are gay and we need an heir. I've told you this a thousand times but why aren't you listening?

I told you two days ago that the board members have started having doubts thinking that you might not be the right one to be the CEO of this multi billion company because you're not married and you don't have a child and they are right you know, so whether you like it or not you're going to go out with Cindy for lunch”

“Until when will you stop dictating my life father? I just feel like it's a crime that I was born a Griffith. I need to go out without being followed.

I need to live my life the way I want and I need to give birth when I want not because you people want me to have a baby and you go on choosing women for me to love because they are high status. Your images always come first, I feel like I'm a slave honestly” I said to him.

“You don't have to see it that way, you are of high status you need to be protected and like anyone you need to have a child and a wife that's all I ask of you”

“You think I want to end up like you? You married the wrong person, she left you because she was blinded by money”. 

“Don't you dare talk about your mother like that, you have no idea what exactly happened so shut up” I said the statement that got dad really pissed off. 

Why he always defended my mother, I had no idea.

“She left us because we didn't have money, that's what I was told all my life by grandfather”

“I'm going to tell you one thing, just keep your mother out of this and if you really want peace just give Cindy a chance. If you can't do this for yourself at least do it for me and like I said the board started having some doubts so it would be better if they saw you guys together it will do us some good” he said and left the office.

There were always a few things at home that didn't make sense to me but still I couldn't get answers so I would just leave things the way they are.I decided to invite Cindy for lunch it was just an hour after all.

she was super excited and she even chose her favorite Diner.

After making our orders, she got up to use the restroom but my mind was elsewhere on the woman I had spent the night with.I pulled out the necklace studying it to see if I could find anything that would lead me to the woman.It wasn't just a simple piece of jewellery.It looked a bit expensive. I would have to find out from the company that made it. As I was still studying the piece of jewellery, I didn't notice the waitress was already there with our orders but her eyes were stuck on the necklace I had in my hands.

I said a quick thanks so that she could take her leave but she seemed like she didn't even hear me.

“Is there something wrong?” I asked she shook her head “No sir, enjoy your meal.I'm sorry”she said and left.

After our lunch with Cindy, I went back to the office and I asked my secretary to find out the company that might have made that necklace.

Stephany's POV

I used to work at old Mr Franco's grocery store. He knew about my heart condition and made sure that I don't get overworked since I couldn't take it being home all day while my sister struggled to get us food.

When it was time to leave work, my friend Lola picked me up and walked me home.We found Hayley home something which was so odd.

“ Whoa! how come you got home so early sister?”I asked walking towards her in the sofa.she didn't reply seemed like her mind was elsewhere. she then turned with a serious face and looked at me.

“What, Haley did I do something wrong?” I asked 

“Where is your necklace Stephanie?” she asked and I suddenly started to panic.My hands made their way to my bare neck.

“Well Hayley, I might have misplaced it but I'm sure I'm going to find it, you don't need to make a big deal out of it” I said

“You think I'm making a big deal out of it? for God's sake Stephanie that's the only thing we have of our parents you can't just misplace it. I saw a customer holding a piece that looked exactly like yours.

I thought they just looked alike but since you don't have it, I believe it's the one he had”

The moment she said those words, my brain flashed back to the guy at the club.

“Where.??... where is he? why didn't you tell him to give it to you?” I asked

“How did you expect me to know that it was yours when you didn't tell me?

I think he is just a one time customer, I have not seen him before and I don't know if I'll ever see him again” Hayley replied

“What did he look like?” 

Though I wasn't sure about the guy's appearance, I either wanted to see if I could somehow reflect on the guy I was with at the club or to know just in case I ever see him.

“He had sea green eyes, dirty blonde hair, a stubble beard with well built muscles underneath.He also looked somewhat rich”.

At Hayley's description, the sea green eyes came to mind and the dirty blond hair. I was now 90% sure that he was the one. Had he just come to steal my necklace? But if he was rich as Hayley thought, he wouldn't steal a mere family necklace.

Where was I going to find this guy? Maybe I should go back to the club and ask’ I thought to myself.

“Do you recognize the guy?”Hayley asked when I didn't reply for some time.

“No... no I do not recognize him maybe he picked it but I promise you one thing Hayley, I'll get back the necklace even if it is the last thing I do before I die”

I started the search for the necklace and it has been a few days since I gave my promise to Hayley but I hadn't got any where because when I went back to the club, I was informed that the room I slept in that night was booked by a lady so my search was a dead end. I just kept hoping one day I run into that guy and get back my necklace.

One month later, I started feeling sick. I had no idea where I had gone wrong with the medication; ‘was I going to die sooner than remaining 5 months?’ I asked myself

The only thing on my mind at the moment was finding my necklace.I was running out of time and I think I was failing to fulfill the promise I made to Hayley.I didn't want to worry her so I told Lola about how I was feeling but the way I was feeling was new compared to my usual problems. I had a metallic taste in my mouth, nausea and I felt dizzy every now and then.

Without Haley's knowledge, we went to a different hospital so that I could get a check up. I wanted a different opinion from the hospital we had been using.

The doctor took a few samples of my blood and we waited impatiently for the result.

After a few minutes of waiting, she came out smiling and stood in front of us. “Congratulations Ms Carter, you are pregnant” she said handing us the report.

I couldn't believe my ears.I let out a short nervous laugh.

“You must be mistaken doctor, maybe we should take another taste. I really don't think I can be pregnant”. 

“We have checked three times.I'll just do it one more time and if you aren't satisfied, you can check elsewhere”she said and I nodded in agreement.

At this moment, it felt like my heart was about to jump out of my body. she went ahead and did the test again and it turned out positive again.I was really pregnant.
