“Dave are you in position?” I said into my telecom
“Positive” “Okay, we’re moving in”“copy that” he replied and we moved stealthily in a single file.A car was parked with it's door opened close to the nearest building to us, with the driver snoring heavily. I signaled for them to hold while I sneaked up to the driver. I crept behind him with my dagger in hand, I covered his mouth and nose and slit his throat with the dagger, he slumped on the chair and I returned my dagger back in it's sheath.
We moved close to the building with the others bendi
"Shit" I cursed as we ran outside the building through the back exit, I changed the magazine of my F2000 as the deafening sounds of gunshots continues, it looks more like a warzone. "You need to be fast soldier, that place will be swarming with zeds in the next five minutes" Dave said. I never thought of that, damnit! I searched around us for the targets for a few seconds before eventually seeing them running towards a parked truck close to the main entrance. The door to the building opposite opened with men coming out gun blazing as we ducked towards different directions. I hid behind a truck as I returned fire. I saw Austin behind a barrel filled with concrete while shooting his SCAR rifle, Lorenzo took cover behind a pillar as the men continued shooting at us, pining us down in the process. I took a quick glance at the two men as they got into the truck with their bodyguards. "They're getting away" Dave said through the telecom
We kept shooting the infected as they staggered towards us in their numbers. Smith and I held the frontline while Austin backed us up with Lorenzo shooting from his Ar-15. "I'm out" Smith said swapping his rifle with a Colt pistol from his holster. "Ar-15 mag." I called at Austin and he threw a full magazine over the defensive wall we built. I passed the magazine to Smith and continued shooting at the infected while Smith reloads his gun. The infected are dangerously close by now are trying their possible best to break through the obstacles dividing us with their weight. We took calculated steps backwards as the weight on the pallets and boxes increased while shooting at the same time. "They're gonn' break in" Smith said at the top of his voice trying to be heard amidst the deafening sounds of gunshots. The infec
"Richard" I felt a hand shaking me as I opened my eyes weakly to see the figure before me. Major Mark." How do you feel now? " he asked almost immediately I opened my eyes." I feel better" I said grunting as I tried to sit up on the small bed.My body aches all over due to the stress we went through, the previous night. My left lap hurts badly and I took a glance at it. I noticed it was covered with Band-Aids and and wondered where the wound came from.I couldn't remember anything that led to such injury during our mission yesterday. Well, shit happens during a fight, I shrugged it off with this thought.Major Mark looked at me with a weird smile on his face and I shot him an angry look." Where the fuck were you guys yesterday?" I asked as I now remember all that happened."Doing what I was supposed to do" he replied"Like
" What the fuck do you mean by it was a test?" i asked in anger, this wasn't what I expected from Faceless, I thought he would just release the twins.I've not seen Clara ever since we were brought here, except for the time Faceless showed her to me on the screen." Well, we need to test your abilities and skills before sending you to the main deal" Anonymous replied" Oh well great, says those that call themselves god" I said coldly." Did you give Clara the dose you said you were gonna give her?" I asked" Yeah, I did and she's doing fine" he replied." And I would advice you to be calm and listen to what we have to say" he added " Your friends are at our mercy, so it would be best for you to stop acting tough" Anonymous said with a tone of seriousness." How am I sure about this? you gave orders for us to be abandoned and left to die in action, how do you expect me to trust you on this again?" " Like i said the other ti
Major Mark and two other armed guards escorted me back to the room where I slept the other day. We took another way back to the room, that was when I realized how big this place is.I knew immediately that Major Mark took me past another route, he knew I would know how to find my way back there another day."You have thirty minutes to settle down, I need to show you around the Armory." Major Mark said immediately we got to my room."Noted" I replied not even turning to face him as I remove my boots.I heard the door close behind me before turning around. I brought out a piece of paper and a pen, using it to make a rough map of the building. I've been making rough sketches like this ever since I came here, and the map is now making sense.I don't trust Faceless. So, I have a plan B in case things turn shitty. I've disconnected the security camera ever since I came into this place, so it's difficult for them to monitor me.I already told F
It's a sunny day in Galaxy City and the streets looked completely deserted except the papers and magazines been blown up and down the street like it is been controlled by some unseen force. The city look messed up more like a war zone as smoke was rising from sky scrappers in different part of the city. Cars were parked carelessly everywhere with some of them having their doors opened like the owners seems to leave it in a hurry. Some have blood stains on their windshield with scratches on their body. Bodies were lying on the floor carelessly and the smell of decay and burned flesh hit my nose from every angle. You might be wondering who I am, Richard Williams that's my name. A special Force in the US military with two tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. It's been three weeks since the virus broke out, three weeks since I got separated from my wife and daughter. The thought
"Get up Richard!" Gary yelled, shaking me vigorously from my sleep. I could hear hurried footsteps everywhere and there was panic in his voice. It's midnight and I could clearly see the horror in his eyes. "What the hell is going on?" I asked trying to get a pick of what's happening around me. A gunshot rang from below almost immediately. "Shit" I cursed and jumped out of bed grabbing my machete that has been resting idly on the wall. "There are infected everywhere" he said while rubbing something off his forehead. I guess it's sweat. More shots was fired and I could hear Wayne yelling at Gary to wake me up on time. I hurriedly put my things in my bag and grabbed three magazines for my Beretta and tucked it in my belt. Gary led the way and together we ran down the flight of stairs and I immediately spot what caused the commotion. Some of the infected had managed to break in through the back exit and are trying to make
It's been two days now since Joe died and we're trying to keep our mind away from what happened but it's not easy, especially for me. I've seen lots of people die in my presence, but never have I witnessed someone die because of me. I tried hard to forget it, but the scene kept playing in my mind like a movie. The house we live in belong to Wayne and I later find out Joe and Wayne are best of friends and also colleagues at work. They both work as mechanics at an Automobile company in the city. They were friends since college days and still remain best of friends even after graduation. The day Joe died, Wayne refused to talk to anyone, he just kept to himself through out the day. We dug a small grave for him at the backyard and also gave him a little farewell sermon with Gary acting as the preacher. Nick cried his eyes out that day and he refuse to come out of his room even for dinner. I learnt he was very close to Joe and he's learning how to operate a gun from him.&
