BLAIR'S POV

It was now three days and Brian took my request to be alone pretty very far.

All my efforts to call him, all my efforts to have a word with him proved abortive.

His phone will not connect nor was there a single sign of him around the house since he turned his back on me.

I grew extremely worried and also had ample time to think about it, about everything.

Nothing else mattered, I just needed to see him to make sure he was fine.

I would pick his hurting presence a million times over his absence.

As I grew increasingly worried and paced our room from end to end, my phone came buzzing.

“Hello,” I responded, skeptically, since I didn't recognize the caller ID and only hoped it was Brian.

“Your fake husband is really testing his limits now, isn't he?” the voice of the caller came.

I rolled my eyes realizing it was my mother. It was not exactly what I was hoping for, disappointment immediately drowned my heart.
