BLAIR’S POV Since Jennice had her ears on our conversation and her eyes on us, Brian had emailed the Queen all of Jennice’s plans, so she could play along and the police was definitely there to catch Jennice, Roberts and all her accomplices. We could finally have some peace, watching her being led to jail.Stacy and Jane had their records cleared, just for bringing Jennice and Roberts to book. It was Ronald’s plan to by pass the plan and even though we acted in fear, it was very beautiful that we pulled it off. The Queen was also delighted to be meeting Brian in person, and seeing the Queen obsessed over his economic knowledge and business skill, made me realize how much of a blessing I had, to have him by my side, spending his life and time with me, when it took him years to honor the Queen’s invitation. She insisted we spend a few days with her and the rest of the team got to return to their peaceful and blessed lives, while we stayed back in London. The weather was quite a bea
BLAIR’S POV “Uhm, Blair,” Jane turned around. I couldn’t help notice that she was quite uncomfortable with my presence. This was excluding the fact that she was sweating and stammering. “Is everything okay?” “Mother,” I gulped in a large amount of saliva, as the name left my mouth. I had not gotten adapted to calling her mother, but after the happening of the past few months, which we kept a secret from my father, in order to protect his health, I felt like Jane and I had come a long way, crossing a major hurdle together and it felt time appropriate to call her mother, even though trauma from the past was still holding me back. Jane cleared her throat. “Of course, my darling,” she responded, forcing through a smile. “Everything is perfect.” She said.“Is there something you need?” she probed. I had reservations on her action, just by mere looking at her. I was struggling to figure what her conversation was about that made her struggle with my presence in the room. I just kep
BLAIR’S POV Early the next morning, the entire family were already at breakfast table, by the time I was waking up from sleep. I had already freshened up and just joined them. It was only two days to Christmas and the snow outside was unforgiving. I had on protective clothes, as did the entire family, while we shared a hot breakfast. Sitting on the table with them all, made me realize that family really was everything. We had conversations and laughed and it was very peaceful to be spending some quality time with family. At a point, I thought about the previous night and was glad that I took Brian’s advice to let everything go. Seeing Jane with smiles on her face and joy in her heart was quite satisfying as well. “So, Brian, have you considered investing in the company?” My father asked. I now had no record of what was going on the company and now that they were not putting him under duress, Brian could decide whether or not he was willing to invest in the company or not and
BLAIR’S POV If I understood Brian properly, there was no point that money was withdrawn from the company for my father’s treatment and the only reason I was not aware was because Dr. Bruce did not want to bother me. If this was true, why was the company running a downward slope, very fast. Brian and I, in a bid for clarity, hurriedly went to the office and we continued our search for more and more documents that was going to explain further. We found nothing in my father’s office and after a few hours, we had not made so much progress. I wasn’t sure what exactly Brian was looking for, but if he said that something was not right, then something was definitely not right. After more hours, I just had to voice out.“What is going on, Brian?” I questioned. “The records…” he struggled to speak, as he continued scattering every single file that was available. “Someone is lying,” he said, “It’s either the records or the staff, but whatever it is, the figures do not align. If someone
BLAIR’S POVThe staff had met my father’s scattered office and had assumed that it was either burglary or someone tried to sabotage the office, so they ran everywhere, looking for answers and trying to figure out the missing file. This chaos provided me room to slip out, the very way I came in. I was hold in my hands, the original copy of the company’s financial record and couldn’t believe it. I drove the fastest that I could and when I arrived, I ran straight for Brian. “Blair,” he called in a high-pitched tone, pretty excited to see me. “I told you she was hiding something.” I said, handing the documents to him.“He took it from me and even before he opened it, he smiled at me. “I know she is,” he said, “The company was never in bankruptcy.” I said, in interpretation of everything that I saw from Jennifer’s system. “Yes, she had been embezzling the funds into her private account.” Brian said. I quietly stared at him for a while. “I told you I would figure it out,” he said
BLAIR’S POV“I asked you to stay away.” Brian’s voice was almost hitting the top, when he returned and learned that I had a conversation with Jane. “She brought herself to me. What did you expect me to do?” I yelled, “Stay away and at least wait for me to get back?” he responded. I couldn’t take his scolding, but his anger was evident that I had crossed a line. I quietly listened to him and waited for him to find out that I had taken an extra step. “I had it all under control.” He said. Just then, there came a knock on the door. Brian stared at me. We never get any visitors around, so it became a moment of silence. I hurried downstairs, since I was expecting guests, and Brian followed immediately after me. “Mrs. Williams?” the officer called.By the time we got to the door, Jane was already there, answering the police officers. “You called the police?” Brian asked in a whisper. I stared at him without any words. Jane turned back and stared at me. My father was the most c
BLAIR’S POV Since we were already packed and wanted to avoid any troubles, we quietly walked out. Brian already bought a luxurious mansion, in the same estate my father lived. I stared at him with a smile, as we walked in. “If you want to remain in Vegas and can’t leave the life you have here, we are going to create the life you know.” Brian equally wore a smile. I was more delighted than I could ever be. Brian’s intentionality was unmatched and I fell a few inches more in love with him, every single time he did something that reassured me of his love and care for me.It was visible to the blind that Brian loved me and I was a priority to him and I was never going to get over the mushiness I felt, every single time he acted kindly towards me. After the exchange of heart-warming smiles, we sat to the heart-raking situation that was now before us. Brian threw down the papers on the table. “How is she the owner of the company Brian?” I could finally release the panic attack I wa
BRIAN'S POV I was fighting the urge to use any language that might invalidate her feelings and quests, but that did not mean I was now finding all of this easy. Our relationship grew more draining by the day and now it felt to me like I had paused my life to be there for her, while she fixed her broken and dysfunctional home. I kept struggling to hold a smile, as she spoke about not giving up on the family legacy. Mr. Williams' company ran majorly on outdated glory now, and there was not much left to save. Maybe not worth waiting for, or fighting for. Loving Blair was becoming the most difficult thing for me and I was drowning thoughts, pushing out all my self-control. ‘Help me!’ I whispered and then set her too sleep. It took at least three hours of lamentation and crying, pushing through tears, to be able get her this calm, but I finally did and now she was asleep. I was left with the job of pacing around the room, thinking about how safe it was to take on this kind of fight
