CHAPTER 54

“Huh? Who are you? What are you talking about?” she asked the driver, increasingly frightened by his behavior.

“Don’t you recognize me? It’s been a long time… You probably don’t remember me, but I know you and your husband very well!!!” He spoke through clenched teeth, his eyes gleaming with menace as he looked at her through the rearview mirror. He continued driving, and she no longer knew where they were going. She tried to remember their route, but fear clouded her mind, and she couldn’t think clearly.

She pushed aside her fear and tried to think quickly. As far as she knew, she and Reed had no enemies. No one bore them any ill will. She couldn’t recall any enemies but was confused—could there be someone she forgot? Even though she still had some amnesia, she couldn’t remember anyone who would hold a grudge against them.

“So you two really ended up together… If he hadn’t imprisoned me back then, maybe you’d still be mine…” he said.
