CHAPTER 53

It had been five days, and Reed still hadn’t returned. He had been busy and only called to check on her and Blue.

She planned to visit Batangas alone that day to surprise Reed. She went to the library where Don Miguel was to say goodbye.

She knocked before she enter. ‘Come in!’ the old man called from inside. She slowly opened the door. He was sitting in a swivel chair, reading a book.

She observed the old man… Even though he was a senior citizen, he still didn’t wear eyeglasses; his vision was still clear. It seemed that Don Miguel’s eyesight was better than hers, as her eyes strained after long periods on her phone.

"What is it, dear? Do you need something?"Don Miguel asked as she approached her.

‘I’m here to say goodbye. I’m going to visit Reed in Batangas. He hasn’t been home for a few days. I’ll leave Blue with Maria then I'll be be back tomorrow."

‘Okay, dear. Have our driver take you. It’s a long trip. I’ll take care of Blue.’

‘If I have the driver take me, there won’t be anyon
