Chapter 17: Mission Accomplished

Amaris shifted restlessly in the king's large bed, her mind tangled in the remnants of sleep. She was disoriented, feeling unusually warm and trapped beneath layers of clothing and blankets. "Ugh... it's hot, damn it... what's with these clothes...?" she mumbled, fumbling with the fabric of her dress, trying to pull it away from her body as if it were suffocating her.

Her movements stirred Alaric, who had unknowingly drifted off to sleep beside her. He was now half-awake, groggily processing her frustrated mumbling. His eyes barely opened, but as he felt her squirming beside him, a sense of possessiveness flickered in his sleepy mind. Without thinking, he wrapped a strong arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him.

"Shh..." he hushed softly, his deep voice filled with a warmth and tenderness that he rarely showed. Still half-asleep, he instinctively leaned in, gently blowing a soft stream of air against the back of her neck, hoping to calm her dow

Chapter 21: Council and ReaversAlaric sat at the head of the long council table. His expression was stoic as he listened to his advisors. The room was filled with the soft murmur of voices, discussing various improvements to the kingdom. The council had been convened to review the progress in agriculture, infrastructure, and military defenses, and for the most part, everything seemed to be falling into place. The roads were being expanded, trade was flourishing, and the people were content—at least, for the moment."Your Majesty," began the royal treasurer, a stout man with thinning hair, "The kingdom's coffers have seen a considerable increase in wealth since the new trade routes were established. Our relationship with the eastern provinces has proven profitable, and—""That will be enough," Alaric interrupted, waving his hand dismissively. His focus was sharp, but his patience for the minutiae was wearing thin. The chancellor, a sharp-eyed man named Calder, then leaned forward. His

Chapter 22: Awakened FeelingsAmaris squeezed the rag tightly, wringing out the excess water before she resumed wiping down the large statue in the inner palace halls. "Why am I even doing this?" she muttered under her breath, her arms aching from scrubbing the massive stonework. Back in her world, the only things she ever had to clean were her small apartment and her office desk. That, she could handle. But here? She had to clean entire palaces. She sighed, letting the rag fall limply in her hand as she stared at the endless corridors around her. This place was enormous compared to her world, where life was simple—annoying, but simple. She could almost laugh at the irony. Back in her world, her biggest worries were work deadlines and cleaning up after herself. Now she was stuck polishing royal statues. But then, as she paused in thought, a strange sense of relief washed over her. Somehow, she had managed to survive here. Somehow, she had adapted. She'd even managed to navigate the te

Chapter 89: Second LifeThe Elysian Empire was a land of grandeur, steeped in tradition and hierarchy. Its people were not only divided by their noble ranks but also by the unique genders bestowed upon them by nature itself. The six genders—male and female alphas, male and female betas, and male and female omegas—shaped the very fabric of their society. Each bore distinct roles, and though unity was idealized, inequality and prejudice often thrived beneath the surface.Alphas were leaders, strong and dominant by nature. Male alphas often held positions of power, while female alphas were just as capable, known for their strength and determination. Both experienced ruts, intense periods when their instincts took over, driving their need for a mate.Betas were the steady, dependable ones. Male betas were the merchants, builders, and thinkers, while female betas were skilled at solving problems and keeping peace. Unlike alphas and omegas, betas didn't have ruts or heats, which made their

No need to act like we're meeting royalty."At that moment, the door creaked open, and Mr. and Mrs. Weaver entered, both holding small wrapped packages.
