Chapter 260: The Royals Risk

Third person's pov

The palace was in an uproar as they barely understood the words that had been spoken by the maid who had suddenly dropped dead.

Hughes, however, stared with no interest at the slew figure on the ground, blood dripping from her nose and ears. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head.

He proceeded to order her immediate removal and call for the physician to examine her and what had caused her death.

Although he was a bit disinterested, this was the time for him to be king and to rule over the kingdom. However, he saw the best fit and now someone had barged in just to ruin it.

The crowd's attention had been brought to this matter, they were all frightened by the crazy girl and what she had said, something about the others dropping dead.

“Escort the others out of the palace,” Hughes ordered the guards as he massaged his chin, deep frown lines etched on his features as he was plunged deep into thoughts.

The others had willingly left the thron

Chapter 261: Darkest Of OrbsDiana's povI remained in my position, despite the whispers that surrounded me.The others were still a bit cautious in approaching me but I didn't care. I remained on the floor on all fours by Alaric's side, refusing to let him go just yet.A silence stretched out afterward as I stared at his unmoving figure.“Diana, everything's okay, we won,” Ava mentioned. I barely glanced at her or any of them as they hadn't known of my bond with Alaric. It had been a secret that was never needed at the time. When Raine wanted to take another step forward, I let out an animalistic growl, stopping him in his tracks. I had no idea where that had come from but for once I had become rather protective of my mate and didn't want anyone to get too close to him.My gaze locked on Ava's and a realization seemed to dawn in her eyes as she glanced between me and Alaric's body and her mouth dropped open, slightly ajar as she whispered in my head, “He's your mate, isn't he?” I di

Chapter 262: You Chose You Diana’s povThe goddess stared down at me with a look of wisdom and worry in her dark orbs, a warm smile on her face. The more she gazed down at me, the more my emotions rose and was all over the place. I couldn’t hold it in anymore and broke down in the field plane, my sobs were muffled as I pressed my hands against my lips. The cool wind blew my hair all around me and the silver strands caught my eyes. I realized that I was a silver blood and I began to wonder what would have happened if I was just a normal wolf or even a lycan even, perhaps there is a chance I might have been with Alaric from the very beginning. If that had happened, none of the recent events would have occurred and I wouldn't have lost the one person I was meant to be bonded with for life.“Why?” I whispered, my voice carried with the wind. I doubted if she had heard me but toed the thought away as she responded.A hand pressed against my head softly and caressed it, her ethereal scent

Chapter 263: Sunshine Diana's povWhatever dream I was having had ended as my eyes cracked open. The lights flooded through the windows of the room and into my eyes making me squint, bringing my hands and pressing them above my eyes. There was a pounding ache in my head as I swung my legs over the side of the bed. My dream may have been real and may have not, but one thing I was certain of, was the feeling in my soul.It didn't feel as though it was slowly chipping away and I was losing myself to the void of darkness. When my gaze had finally become accustomed to the lights in the room, I swerved around, massaging my temples and groaning. I was in my former room.“What the hell am I doing here? And when did I shift back?” Other questions followed after but the one that stood out the most was where Alaric's body was.I launched out of the bed and staggered a bit before finding my footing as I stumbled towards the door, I wasn't ready to lose him yet. I wasn't. The tears pooled at the

Chapter 264: Ethereal Diana’s povThe voices in my head continued but none could compare to the one that sounded out from behind me.I appealed to my heart not to be deceived, Alaric was dead and there was no way he was coming back.Helene's eyes shifted from me to the space behind me and the room was plunged into some stale silence that stretched for a few seconds and she beckoned for me to turn around.I let go of the sides of her throat, my claws peeled from her skin, stained with her blood. My feet slowly shifted, step by step as I turned around slowly until I was facing the direction of the doors and my breath hitched. Was I dreaming or was this another vision? I questioned myself as I could barely believe who stood before me, it was Alaric, or maybe a version of him because I knew he was gone.My head moved from side to side, denying this false image that they had created, what? To appease me, to get me to start moving? Why would they go through that trouble to get someone that

Chapter 265: The Ordained Mating Ritual Diana's pov When I woke back up, my mind was a bit disoriented, but the first thing I noticed was the empty space beside me, I began to panic wondering where he had gone.He said he would be here when I woke up, he said he wasn't going to leave me and he left. The level of my heart race increased tenfold and I was almost moved to tears, almost regretting my little slumber when a voice came from behind me towards the window, “Hey gem, I'm right here, I didn't go anywhere, I'm right here,” Alaric rushed to say, cooing at me ever so lightly with a smile.I cupped his cheeks once again and pulled him closer, gazing into his eyes before they fell an octave lower to his lips and lingered a bit then to his eyes. And I caught him doing the exact same thing, and his face got closer and closer to mine, so much so his hot breath fanned my face and I closed my eyes in anticipation for what was coming.Alaric's soft lips pressed against mine in a soft and

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   266. Gratitude

Chapter 266: Gratitude Diana's pov The next morning had arrived rather quickly and I woke up with a sore ache between my legs, a reminder of the activities that had transpired between the both of us.Alaric stared at me with a smile on his face when I came through, “Good morning gem,” he greeted in his raspy deep voice that seemed to turn me on this early in the morning. The pet name was also something that couldn't have gone unnoticed. It made the heat rise up to my cheeks.“Good morning,” I couldn't believe we had done all that multiple times for the rest of the day, all the way to the next day. The manner at which he gazed down at me made me giggle, “You are not doing that again.”His eyes were filled with so much happiness and lust as I spoke as the smirk crept up his lips, “Who said I wanted to?” He questioned as he drew me on top of his chest.“Your eyes,” I answered, propping myself up in his chest and holding my giggle as he tried to fix his eyes which weren't possible, “I k

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   267. The Reason For Betrayal

Chapter 267: The Reason For Betrayal Diana's pov After that brief and weak moment of mine, I retracted back from Raine and into Alaric's embrace, while the others in the room offered me genuine smiles.“I'm happy for you,” Ava acknowledged and came up to hug me as well. Only a few weeks ago we were at each other's throats, and now, she was one of the closest friends that I had in the pack. There was a bit of interruption however as Luke voices out his discernment , “Look, we are all happy to see that you are well and okay, but there are still matters that need to be tended to, we still need to rescue Delilah.”After being captured and also trying to rescue her the first time, we had not forgotten. However, we had been mostly occupied by trying not to die in the battle that was upon us, “Now that it's over, we should storm the castle and free the others,” he suggested.I was beyond confused at this moment and Ava must have noticed this as she began to give me a rundown of the events

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   268. Strange Beast

Chapter 268: Strange BeastDiana's pov “Daniel had been the messenger for the king, I do not know what he had been promised however,” Helen continued.Daniel had been a dear friend of mine and it was quite disturbing that he had pulled such a mechanism, and plans on his pack. The one he had grown up in, the people he had known since when he was little.Raine was the one to respond that Daniel hadn't been seen in a very long while, since the night of the attack. Helene went on to apologize to me as she had done to the others in my absence, “Do you know if he's still alive?” Inquiring about her son.She shook her head, “Each day I begin to lose hope and wonder if I might have been deceived, played by my emotions and Daniel used this to his advantage.”It might have not been what someone like Daniel would have done, but then again, he had orchestrated with the king against us, blackmail wouldn't be too far from his other skills. After a while we dropped the topic and focused on how we

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   293. A Royal End

Chapter 293: A Royal End Diana’s pov The pack apparently had been silent as they waited for our return. We were bloodied, bruised, and exhausted as we arrived at the pack, carrying the injured as well as the losses we had amounted to, which was quite a number from both packs. We had won the battle but we had also lost a lot of lives in the process, was that really a win? I spotted Alaric, who might have just been waiting for us to return, running towards us before wrapping me in his arms and lifting me into the air, holding me close to him. His scent was intoxicating. I thought I would never see him again. The exhaustion had finally caught up with me and I collapsed in the safety of his arms, he pressed my hands against his chest and inhaled deeply, “I'm glad you're safe.” The sound of his voice comforted me, but at the same time made me feel guilty for what I had done back in the palace. The tears pooled at the corner of my eyes as I realized he was the last of his kind, “I'm

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   292. Finally

Chapter 292: Finally Diana's pov Karen and I met up while the others remained and watched the fire burn, leaving one after the other and not wanting to be caught as the fire spread rapidly. Karen had been thinking about it for a long time. She had wanted the werewolves to be on their own while the humans would be in their own zone and both shouldn't cross paths, “As much as I like you and you're a really good person, it's only for the best.” This I understood completely and wouldn't have had it any other way. We came to an agreement before staring at the blazing fire, it was going to burn as the size of the palace was humongous. This would also clear whatever had been killing them as we didn't want it to attach itself to us. It might have only been the lycans, but who was to say it didn't affect the locals as well? It might just be taking much longer before it attacks us. My prayer was to the moon goddess that it would wait for a very long time. The humans and the werewolves th

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   291. End Of A Reign

Chapter 291: The End Of A Reign Diana POVI drained the last bit of energy I had just to keep him alive which I succeeded in doing. Taking in a large gulp of air, I laid down beside him and his twin brother. He was alright, I repeated this in my head and thanked the moon goddess for not taking him away. She had been by my side the entire time just as she had promised. After taking that log of air, before finally realizing that the room had been occupied by the others, Karen, Roy, as well as others who had followed us into battle. They stood staring back at me as I stood to my feet and helped Daniel sit up. It was quiet, save for the shuffling of feets.Being surrounded by so many people, months ago I would have been scared and shied away but now here I stood. Our mission that day was to save the humans and the werewolves from the hands of the lycans but we had done more than that.“The Lycans after witnessing the death of their king had lost all hope to fight and fled the scene,” Kar

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   290. Snapped Neck

Chapter 290: Snapped Neck Diana's povIf I remember correctly, the pendant had been manufactured by Luke's mother, the witch. Apparently, it was made specifically for Silver bloods. I didn't know the full extent of it, but having been attacked by it with the king before, it had something that made us weak.“You think that's going to hurt me?” I stared at the pendant quizzically, the king had only held it out to me when there had only been a moment of weakness and nothing more, which was the same thing that happened now.Donald chuckled, “It might not hurt you, but might keep you down enough for me to kill you.” The smirk had vanished from his face and his eyes darkened, taking a step towards me with his hands stretched out in front of him. From this distance, I could already feel the effects of the pendant. A constant ringing that got louder and louder, it felt as though the very blood that ran through my veins was boiling and I felt hot all over.My teeth gnashed against each other

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   289. An Imposter. A Bastard

Chapter 289: An Imposter. A Bastard. Diana's pov.“Donald? What the hell are you talking about?” Who the hell was Donald and why was he speaking in such a manner? His voice had changed as well as his accent. His smile morphed into the soft smile I had always known Daniel to have, but in the next second, it disappeared, there was something different. He cackled at my perplexity, “You are not Daniel, are you?” I questioned his weird behavior. He shook his head, “I didn't peg you to be really slow, Diana. Then again, it's not like you can tell the difference, can you?” “Daniel is my twin brother, bring him out boys,” he yelled out and two of the guards brought out an identical person, dragging him by the hands while his knees scraped the floors. This version of Daniel was looking bruised and battered and on the verge of death, “Allow me present to you, my younger brother, Daniel,” he triumphantly said as he walked off the dias and towards the real Daniel. They were really identical tw

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   288. A Riddle?

Chapter 288: A Riddle?Diana's pov It was over.Standing at the highest point in the palace for everyone to see and gazing down at them as they all came to a stand still.Hughes laid with his back pressed against the earth for everyone to see that the kingdom had finally fallen.A kingdom with no king is as good as doomed, at least that's what they said but I seemed to disagree, it didn't matter if we had a king or not, what mattered was peace and equality. This was a show and the Lycans knew that they had lost the battle and the war, and it was only a matter of time before they faded away into dust. There would only be one Lycan left in the kingdom.I needed to find the queen and the princess and save them, my thoughts trailed back to Alaric. He shouldn't have to suffer the loss of being alone, as much as I hated the both of them. The queen had been nothing but spite, holding me down on her leash like I was some dog, threatening me every second she had gotten, and the princess had b

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   287. Gone Is The Usurper

Chapter 287: Gone Is The Usurper Diana's pov.I ordered some of the men to set out and look for the survivors and lead them out of the Palace. The humans, the werewolves, as well as Beatrice and the others that had been left behind. While the rest of us would be making our way to the throne room or wherever the king was, he would have to pay for the crimes that he had committed. We moved into action, the lycans were not a force that could be reckoned with, maybe a few months ago, now they were like children in the hands of mere wolves.Fighting then wasn't the problem, as we moved as a team, but we also needed to hurry and end this as soon as possible.I ran up to the throne room where I thought he would have been but encountered two of the guards which I had to fight. After putting them down I questioned them and found that the king was in his chambers.A coward he was, slitting their throats right afterward and making my way towards his chamber. My mind was resolute, my anger const

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   286. A Unified Front

Chapter 286: A Unified FrontDiana's pov.Karen and I had returned back to the gates of the upper city and then arrived at the pack. Helene and Sarah were most shocked to see Kaleb on my back.“I can't believe you found him, I can't believe he's alive.” The tears pooled at the corners of her eyes as she fussed over him on the couch, thanking me repeatedly as she hugged her long-lost son.Sarah also tried to comfort herself but lost the battle as the tears spilled down the side of her face.“We don't have much time, Luke and Delilah are still in the palace. They were most likely captured and we have to do whatever we can to get them out, as well as your sister.” Helene sniffed and cleared up her nostrils, “I see you've finally met Beatrice.”I nodded, “We had already met quite several times, we need to storm the castle with whatever we have, but first I need to help him get stable.” They all stared at me with looks of determination, Alaric came up from behind me, his hands circling a

  • THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS   285. Luke Vs Hughes

Chapter 285: Luke Vs Hughes Luke's pov. When I found out that Delilah had returned, my heart stopped as I feared that I might just lose her like I did the first time. But after watching her go through the lycans as though they were mere dolls, I couldn't have been more proud. My mate was practically the strongest wolf out there and even I couldn't compare to what she could do. I thought all this while I had to protect her when she could protect herself. At least Diana and the others had been able to escape, we just needed to worry about ourselves, but I was already getting exhausted. After going head to head with at least four of the Lycans, taking a few hits here and there, my focus was lost and I received a fatal blow in the guts, which I doubled over, gasping for breath. The lycan stood over me as I raised my head to look him in the eye, a smirk sat on his lips as he knew he had the advantage now. If it had been a one-on-one fight, I would have used his dumb ass face to mop the fl
