Shannon’s POV

After a long day at school, I was sitting in the balcony with my photo album on my thigh. This was the second time I was trying to detach Leila’s pictures from the album, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.

Each day, she texted me repeatedly, telling me she was remorseful for her action and wished she could turn back the hands of the clock. At some point, I wanted to forgive her because I had become extremely lonely, but each time I remembered the scene, my loneliness become replaced with anger.

“Hey, take a look at yourself.” Cole said, pushing a paper into my hand.

“What? How did you… how long have you been here?” I asked, admiring the sketch he had handed to me.

“About half an hour now. I thought you saw me staring.” He chuckled, lowering himself on the spot beside me.

“I didn’t. Oh my goodness, I never knew you were this good.” I grinned, still gushing at the sketch in my hands.

“Thank you.” He replied.

Shannon’s POV Thinking about Eric made cold chills run through my spines. He was someone I regret knowing and would do anything to avoid. “Aren’t you going to ask how I found out about Eric?” Selena then asked out of nowhere as if reading my thoughts. When I didn’t reply, she said, “Well, I did a little research about your past and this got me wondering why the moon goddess decided to mate a low life omega with an alpha.” She smirked, pushing her hair behind her ear. “Why are you doing this?” I asked, gripping the edge of the couch. “You already know why, but for clarification purposes, I will repeat it.” She paused, then continued. “Stay away from the brothers, they are mine, not yours.” She snapped. “I…” I started, but she interrupted,“Stay away from the them, I don’t want to repeat myself, am I clear?” She asked. “Yes.” I gulped, still gripping the couch. Smirking, she grabbed her phone and purse and after one look at me, she stormed out of the living room. Breakfast that m

Shannon’s POV Ricky, Jules, Cole, mom, and I sat on separate couches as we allowed different thoughts to spiral through our minds. Deep down, I knew mom was disappointed, not in me though, but in Eric. When she discovered we were mates, she tried all her best to see to it that we got mated, but unfortunately I was rejected. For some reasons, I didn’t want to accept the fact that Eric reappearance was a coincidence. Something must have happened for him to appear all of a sudden. Was it Selena? — I asked myself. “Shannon.” Mom called with a soft voice, interrupting my thoughts. “Mom, I’m sorry. I should have told you earlier.” I said. “It’s not your fault. Believe me, whatever happened between Eric and you isn’t your fault.” She said, taking my hands in hers. “Thank you.” I mumbled, lost on what to say. That night, I went to bed brainstorming on the possible reasons why Eric decided to return all of a sudden. I fell asleep thinking about it. The next morning at school, Leila wa

Selena’s POVClutching my phone tightly, I resumed pacing about my room with a large scowl on my face. With the way things were going, I had to come up with a plan, else I would become the victim. “Selena, what exactly is the problem? You have been this way since last night, tell me, who knows if I can be of help.” Jhenna, my friend said. “You can’t help me now.” I replied, scrolling through my phone. “What makes you think so? Just tell me, even if I can’t help you like you said, I can recommend someone to help you.” She said persistently. Her attitude of always trying to offer help whenever I needed it was one thing that made me adore her, but right now, instead of adoring her, I was beyond pissed. “Stay away from me.” I yelled, when she tried to come close. “Come on, stop acting as if I’m a villain when in the real sense I’m just trying to help. You are my friend and whenever you are bothered, I should be bothered too.” She snapped. “In this case, you shouldn’t be bothered.”

Selena’s POV My joy, which was supposed to last forever, was cut short when I got a call from Ricky. Thinking he wanted to apologize for ignoring my calls and texts, I picked his call with a bright smile. “Hello dear.” I cooed, twisting my hair in-between my fingers. “End it.” His cold response came. I had to take my phone off my ear to confirm his identity. This was the first time he was speaking so coldly to me. Even when he discovered I was the reason Eric returned and began to make trouble, he didn’t speak to me with this tone. “Why the sour tone? Fine, I know you are mad at me…” I was still speaking when he interrupted. “You think I won’t find out?” He asked.“Can you just stop this madness young lady?” Cole’s voice came through. “Young lady?” I asked, biting my bottom lips. Things had really gone south. “Ask Eric or whoever is behind that fake news on the school website to bring it down else, you wouldn’t like what would happen to you.” Ricky said with a deep voice. Shannon’s POVMy eyelids fluttered open but the bright light made me shut it almost immediately. I could hear background voices but I couldn’t decipher what they were talking about. Trying to find out what was going on around me, I forced my eyes open only to discover I was on a hospital bed, surrounded with sterile white walls and medical equipment which were beeping continuously. My body was aching all over, and my head, throbbing with pains added to my frustration. With my eyes tightly shut, I allowed confusion to wash over me as I tried to remember what had happened. The last thing I could recall was drinking the water Selena offered and then I was unable to move. “Wolfsbane?” I heard mom’s voice and at that instant, my eyes shot open. Wolfsbane — I wondered, my gaze fixed on mom and the doctor. “Yes. She consumed a lethal amount which led her to current state.” The doctor said. “I didn’t take wolfsbane. What is the doctor talking about?” I mumbled, trying to fix my gaze on

Shannon’s POV After that encounter with mom, our relationship became strained. She noticed I was still mad at her, so she tried all that was within her power to please me, yet, I didn’t budge. The following day saw me in my room cuddling my pillow as I thought of all the good times I had shared with her. Suddenly, my mind went to Selena. Deep down, I was certain she was behind the wolfsbane incident. Even if the triplets bullied me, I knew there is no way they would try to hurt me to the extent I would find myself in the hospital. When she came around that day, fright and anger overwhelmed me and that was why I began to cough since I was uncomfortable. If I had known she had an ulterior motive, I would have asked the triplets to ask her to drink the water. Of course they wouldn’t ask any questions, moreover, she was on their blacklist. “Shannon, breakfast is ready.” Cole said, poking his head into my room. “I already had breakfast.” I replied, not bothering to look in his direct

Selena’s POVI woke up feeling super excited. First, the moon goddess had granted me an opportunity to get rid of Shannon in the easiest way. Secondly, she was in the hospital, probably fighting for her life or maybe even dead by now. Jhenna was excited just like I was. With the way things were going, the only thing that would separate us is death. She always went out of her way to see to it that I was happy and she always shared in my happiness. What more could I ask for in a friend? “Here, drink up before the ice melts.” Jhenna said, handing a plate of ice cream to me.“Thank you.” I replied, flashing a smile at her. “Are you still on the school website?” She asked, placing her legs on the table I was resting against. “Yeah. It seems she isn’t dead yet…” “Don’t say that. You and I know the wolfsbane was an overdose and would take the intervention of the moon goddess for her to survive. I guess the family doesn’t want to reveal her death yet. Don’t worry, the news will come in

Eric’s POVI groaned frustratingly as anger surged through my veins, this couldn’t be happening. I couldn’t deny that I hated Shannon but seeing her mated to that bastard made my blood boil. I couldn’t understand these feelings but I did understand something. I had to get Shannon back, she was mine alone! No one could stop me from having her, even if it took my last breath!I flung the items on my table away, totally drowned in rage. “Can you just sit down and think.” My wolf voice echoed in my head. Ignoring the annoying voice in my head, I punched the wall beside me. “You need to stop all of this! Let’s find a solution!” my wolf said. “I also want Shannon, there is just something about her wolf that attracts mine. Remember that I warned you against rejecting her.” My wolf added, his voice already starting to annoy me. “You don’t have to remind me about that!” I finally replied to him. My wolf and I didn’t share an amazing bond maybe because I never listened to him or because I

With a resigned smile, I watched as they continued their game of chase and catch, their laughs filling the air with screams.Just then, I felt Jules’ arms wrap around my once again pregnant belly from behind, his embrace warm and comforting. I leaned back into his arms, relishing the feel of his strong arms around me. “How are you and

Let the guards handle this.” I said firmly, approaching his bedside. “You’re not in any condition to be worrying about Matthew right now.”Jules shot me a glare, but I could see the pain in his eyes. “I can’t just sit here while that traitor is out there,” he grumbled, shifting uncomfortably against his pillows.I gently placed a hand on his arm, trying to calm him down. “You need to focus on getting better,” I urged. “The guards will find Matthew eventually. You need to trust them.”He let out a frustrated sigh, but finally relented. “Fine,” he grum

Shannon’s POVI walked back to the castle, my mind swirling with thoughts about Matthew. He didn’t deny it. He didn’t even try to. My suspicions were like shadows creeping over me, chilling me to the bone. But without solid proof, I felt like I was playing with smoke.I found Jules in his study, buried under a mountain of paperwork. His tired eyes glanced up at me, and I could tell he was bracing himself for another round of my suspicions.“Jules, I need to talk to you about Matthew,” I blurted out before he could stop me.He sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. “Shannon, we’ve been over this. You’re letting your imagination run wild.”I shook my head, frustration bubbling inside me. “But Jules, I just need you to listen. I know something’s not right.”He looked at me with a mix of sympathy and exasperation. “Shannon, I understand you’re scared after everything that’s happened. But maybe you’re seeing things that aren’t there. It’s understandable, given the trauma you’ve been through.

Shannon’s POV“I’m not lying to you Jules, you need to believe me when I say that Mathew is not a good person. He is trying to pot against you and why won’t you believe me?” I inquired with a very stern countenance plastered on my face.“Oh please Shannon can you please just stop all of this drama? Why are you bothering yourself over something that you shouldn’t? I don’t know what is feeding you with lies but you know better than to believe everything you hear.” Jules snapped at me, walking back to his desk, and sunk into it without giving me any more regard.I knew he wasn’t going to believe me from the start but why? I’ve been on Mathew’s trial forever and it’s enough for me to know that he is planning on hurting Jules. But why won’t Jules listen? Why is he so certain that Mathew can’t do anything to him? Why am I looking like the crazy one here? All I’m trying to do is to avert him from the danger that is heading right towards him.I couldn’t let anything happen to Jules but at thi

Shannon’s POVI stormed into the castle, my heart pounding in my chest. The situation with Matthew had left me unsettled, and I know I had to find a way to make Jules listen to my warnings about him.As I entered the main hall, my eyes immediately fell on Michael, playing innocently with a toy on the floor. Beside him stood Matthew, the man I found so suspicious. My instincts screamed at me to grab Michael and run, but I forced myself to stay calm. I hurried over to my son, scooping him up into my arms protectively. Michael grinned up at me, holding out the toy he had been playing with.I turned to face Matthew, my expression hard and suspicious. “What are you doing here?” I demanded, my voice laced with tension.Matthew blinked in surprise, taken aback by my abruptness. “I came to see Jules,” he replied, gesturing vaguely. “One of the maids told me to wait here, and I saw Michael, so I thought I’d keep him company.”My grip on Michael tightened, my protective instincts in overdrive.

Shannon’s POV.The next day Jules and I moved into the pack house. It was still so surreal to me that I was an Alpha.Jules was almost completely healed now and he kept talking about how it was all because of his training yesterday. I mentioned to him that it was probably because of the training he’s still not properly healed yet but he just laughed in my face.As soon as we arrived in the pack house, we were welcomed by the slaves. They were all lined up in the living room in a straight line dressed in black and whiteThey had to be at least fifty to a hundred of them. What on earth did we need so many slaves for?I wondered as I scanned their faces.I glanced over at Jukes who seemed a little too confident. I wish I had his confidence. It seemed like he was used to it, unlike me.“These are the palace slaves, they are always at your service, They all have been assigned different stations. You will eventually get used to them but for now, these are the most important faces you will

I blinked, trying to adjust to the harsh fluorescent light.“Jules!” A familiar sounding voice called out and I frowned as her face came into view.“Shannon,” I sat up a little too quickly and groaned out in absolute pain.“Hey Jules,” she smiled at me.“Don’t move too much. You have not yet healed up.” She said, her sweet voice wrapping around me like a blanket.“You’ve been released?” it was supposed to be an observation but it came out as a question. I was so happy to see her, I couldn’t believe I had won. At some point, I had completely blacked out but if she was here with me then I had won.“Thanks to you. I’m so sorry for what you had to go through for my sake.* She said, hugging me.I winced at the pain and she quickly let go of me as if I were some fragile glass.“No,” I protested at the absence of her warmth.
