“Mom, what is it?” he said, very alert and observed the room for any strange occurrence.
Ruth shook her head, refusing to believe the revelation.
“Ruth, what happened? Why did you scream?" Martha asked. Looking back and forth at the twin's faces.

She was glad to set her eyes on the light of day again not to talk of the trauma she experienced yesterday. She closed her eyes and shook her head to clear the thoughts running through her mind. She refused to believe that Matthew could go to such extent just to have his revenge on her. She always expected to be punished for her sins, but she never imagined that spending her time in jail would be the punishment he saw fit.
