"Run Catherine run". She panted heavily as she found herself running to the listening of her father's voice. She felt on a rock almost hitting her teeth on it, she turned around to see the creature who had faced her directly. It was a wild animal she and her father had stumbled into when when they went hunting. It opened its wide mouth as it was ready to pounce on her.

"Are you okay?"
Catherine felt something cold and liquid on her body, the moment she woke up, she discovered she was in the middle of nowhere. A man stared at her closely, she slapped him almost immediately.
"Don't look me that way". She shunned him when she realized she had a nightmare.
"I was trying to help". He innocently explained.
"Where's the cave?" She asked as her eyes searched all over for the cave, she recognized the forest but the cave wasn't there.
"There's no cave here".
The man lightly touched her shoulder which infuriated Catherine, he talked to her out of pity which embarrassed her. The color of her eyes changed to red which took the man aback. She sensed he was a human and could be the same age with Alex.
"I know what I saw and it was right there". She got up as she felt one of the trees, she turned to face the man but didn't see him, she chuckled at the way she had scared him off.
"I told you to go home, you didn't listen". She heard her wolf side.
"I should have left you to die instead of saving you to get insulted". She hissed as she took more steps till she got to another and paused.
"It's getting dark, we should go home".
"I'll go whenever I want". She harshly responded to her wolf side.
"My Lady, what are you doing here? It's dark".
Catherine pretended not to hear her guard, probably Alex had sent him to check on her since she didn't join them for dinner. Dinner time was the only period they sat together as one family to eat, though no one talked to each.
"Did you see my carriage?" She asked as she felt less concerned.
"No my lady". The guards responded scared of Catherine next action if he said the wrong word.
"Then bring yours". Catherine walked to a tree and sat on it foot with no glimpse to the guard's direction.
"You don't have to worry, my lady, I'll personally ride you safely back home". The guard smiled at Catherine response to go home.
"And who's talking about you coming with me?" She eyed him.
"But ma, I thought-?" He couldn't help but stammer.
"You thought what? You lowlife ingrate can never follow me home in a carriage". Catherine spat at him angrily.
"How would I get home my lady?" The guard stated while he tried to act calm. He had heard from his colleagues how wicked Catherine was but never believed it was to this extent.
"Do I look like I care? No tell me". She responded while she got home and headed for the carriage she had sighted almost immediately. She forcefully opened the door of the carriage and sat on it.
"My lady please forgive me". The guard had gotten dumbfounded by her behaviour.
"You're forgiven, but after you get home safely and not eaten before then by the wild animals I have seen so far". She threatened him while he saw the fear in him which got her excited.
"Wild animals?" The guard repeated after her as he turned around like he was expecting one to pounce on him. He walked to the carriage and knelt before Catherine feeling remorseful.
"Please my lady, pardon me".
"You don't have to waste your saliva, if I were you I would start walking". She responded as she feigned an angry face. She started the carriage and sped off without looking back. She dreamt of her bed only, of which nothing would stop her from going home.

Alex paced around the house, it was past seven and had heard nothing from Catherine, not even the guards. He cared less about her but for her father who would foolishly lay down his life for her. She had not only spoken rudely to her father but also walked out on him. Most times Alex wished she was better off dead than being the Alpha to the White pack, he thought deeply to himself while he reduced his pace around the house.
"Where the hell are you coming from Catherine?" He quickly sighted her as she entered the house.
"Mine your business". She reluctantly stated.
"I asked you a question Catherine and an answer I must get". He found it difficult to control his temper this time around, he had succeeded in the past but he sensed she was taking it for an advantage.
"Or you going to do what, beat me? Oh please". She waved at him while she walked past him.
"Catherine stop there! You talk carelessly and callously, do you know you're the future Alpha?"
"And since when did it become your business?" She asked him without a flinch in her eyes.
"Since you turned yourself to a child Catherine". He didn't regret his last word, she needed to know the truth about her character.
"Like you care for anything". Catherine eyed the pretentious fat bastard which stood at her front. She had all along known Alex plan to take over after the death of her father which was why he gummed him like a glue.
"I care and that is why you must change". He lowered his voice. She was smart after all, he thought to himself.
"Where's the guard I sent to you?" Alex asked as he looked around for him.
"He's on his way". Catherine responded as she shrugged her shoulder.
Alex sensed she had done something and the guard won't show up any moment soon.
"Catherine what did you do?" He asked again, his curiosity had taken the best of him.
"If he happened to show up, ask him". She turned around as she headed for room.
Alex didn't bother himself to call her back, he knew fully well that Catherine would not answer him this time, he thought to himself while he watched her enter her room.
"What's the noise about, Alex?"
The surprise on Alex face couldn't be hidden the minute he sighted Catherine's father.
"I think your daughter has killed the guard I sent to pick her up". Alex dropped the bomb.
Catherine woke up to the noise of the birds, it didn't sound like they were playing, it sounded like a bad omen. The pillow she placed on her head to block the noise wasn't working. She cursed under her breath while she was forced to sleep.***"My lady". She was able to hear her maid who shouted at the top of her voice. She has barely closed her eyes and now this, she snubbed the maid who had started pounding at her door."My lady please open up". Catherine angrily stood, she had decided to give Eden the beating of her life for being callous."What the?""Your father my lady, he all of a sudden stopped breathing".At the sound of her father, her heart skipped, she had just escalated things."Take me to him". Catherine perceived something strange, Eden had stopped looking at her and wouldn't take her to see her father."Eden speak up". Catherine shouted as she tried to control herself, Eden had taken a step backward with the feeling Catherine might hit her."Sir Alex warned me not to
Catherine lay still on the bare ground with her eyes shut, her breathing had become stable and the wolf's bane had finally worn off completely. Gradually she opened her eyes and looked ahead although she could not see anything. She trailed her hands on the ground as she headed for the door blindly. The door had a little open patch on it where the tiny ray of light oozed from outside. Here, she put one eye as she looked through to see if anyone was around the door. She studied the environment for a while counting every second that someone passed by, identifying the person from their footwear. She knew that the guards had uniformed boots and the non-guards had fancy leather shoes, some had flowing robes that covered their shoes. At the brisk of dusk, the maid would bring in her dinner, Catherine knew this and so she laid back on the floor with her eyes shut as if she was still in the influence of the wolf's bane. She winced and held her head as soon as she opened her eyes. She did not know how long she had been out. Catherine looked through the small opening of the carriage by the time she had fully woken up. She could only hear the voices of the men but could not see anyone as it was already completely dark. “Let's camp here for the night. Feed the horses and take them to the stream for water.” The leader instructed one of the men. Catherine was pulled out from the carriage just after they had brought out the rest of the slaves in the other carriages and tied them together. “Let go of me.” She resented and freed herself from their grip although her hands and legs were bonded so she could not properly move. “Come here.” The man forged towards her but she nudged him with her shoulders. “We have arrived, stop the carriage!” Raphael said and the carriages came to a halt. “Bring out the girls and take them to the warehouse, clean them up and prepare them. They are coming.” He announced. They pulled the girls out including Catherine. She did not resent as she used to as she was just recovering from the tranquilizer's effect. The ray of the sun rushed to her eyes and she quickly shut them. She had not seen the sunlight for a long time, only the gloominess of the woods. It made her nauseated and so she vomited just before she got to the warehouse. “Move!” The man instructed and pushed her, she looked around but everywhere seemed rather too strange to her. There was nothing that she could recognize, it was just an arid land with a warehouse right in the middle. She did not know where they had come from or where else to go even if she wanted to plan an escape. “Move!” He nudged her with his hand on her shoulder. The girls looked up to the door as the men pushed it open and walked in but there was a different man in their midst. He had a posh look, probably a middle-aged Dutchman. He whispered in the ears of Raphael who only smiled and led the way to the girls. Some of the girls moved backwards as the men approached them but Catherine had no fear in her. The tranquiliser was completely worn off and so she was back to her normal self. Although her wolf’s side had still not returned. The man looked at the face of every girl but found Catherine different as she did not depict any iota of fear.“You, what's your name?” He pointed at her but Catherine pretended like she had not heard him. "Cut his head off". "But my lady, he's innocent". "I don't care". Catherine shouted, the color of her eyes had changed to red, she hated being questioned. "I'm sorry". Her guard apologized as he dragged the man from her sight. The man who seem to be older than her had disrespected her by gossiping about her with the other cooks, he had been her chief cook but not anymore. She stood up only to feel sand on her feet. "Nana!" She called out. "Ma". Nana ran to her, she had heard about Aaron who was beheaded and feared more for her job. "I thought you took care of the cleaning here". "Yes ma". Nana responded as she tried not to stutter. "Then why the hell am I feeling sand beneath my foot". She hit nana's head angrily. "It wasn't my intention, forgive me". She apologized amidst the pain she felt in her head. "You know what?" "Please ma, I will make it clean this time". "Too late Nana, too late. You're fired, get out of here before I change my mind".
