Leah's POV

I was on a voice call with Scarlet, my best friend.

Every shred of evidence I'd uncovered, every hint of a clue, I'd shared with Scarlet. She was the only one I trusted enough to confide in, the only one who knew my deepest suspicions.

My father? I couldn't bring myself to trust him, not yet.
