As Blair walked out of the apartment and toward the elevator, Ethan followed her. There were things he needed to explain, and he had no reason to wait, no time. Blair pressed the button for the elevator just as the man reached her, but he didn't touch her.

- "Deana will be in Las Vegas for a few days, and I lent her the apartment."

Blair heard every word, every single one of them, but she didn't bother to respond. She stood with her back to Ethan, facing the metal doors. At that moment, nothing he said would change Blair's mind.

- "We don't have any relationship right now. We're just friends," he continued.

She was tempted to respond, but the answer wouldn’t be as graceful as her silence. Blair wanted to say how disappointed she was, how let down she was. She wanted to say that the way Ethan treated all of her relationships as indifferent friendships was discouraging.
