- "Well, I spoke to a detective friend about the flowers you received. He asked me to tighten security and keep you informed. I sent his phone number to your cell phone."

- "Okay. Thank you."

Jean opened his jacket and took out what looked like a small envelope from the inside pocket. It was the size of a letter and was somewhat yellowed. For a moment, he considered not handing over the envelope. However, Jean knew that the lies were haunting his relationship with his daughter, and that it was time to change things.

- "I received this letter, but it has your name on it"

Blair reached out and took the letter, opening the envelope without preamble. She knew the sender was the same one who had sent her the lilies. There was no reason it could be anyone else. And then Blair began to read:

I can be a light for your path,

but I need you to let me be.

Don't trust him.

Keep our secrets,

and I will make revelations to him.

When you are away from home,

don't trust strangers who say

know the way
