CHAPTER 34

“Luna,” Ashford called as soon as she got to her. “Adrian is going to look for you at any moment."

Luna's eyes opened, and she blinked at him in confusion. “What?"

Ashford squatted next to her and lifted her in his arms. He noticed that she was burning hot, so he lifted her off the ground and carried her in his arms in bridal style.

Concerned, he wondered if she had a fever.

“What are you doing?” She inquired. “You can't carry me to the pack like this.”

“You are having a fever.” He explained. “I have to take you to the pack doctor, or do you want me to take you to the kingdom instead?”

Shaking her head, Luna held onto him. “My father might be worried about me; I can't leave. I still have to tell him what happened.”

“You have never been sent to the pack doctor when you were hidden, right?"

“Right.”

“Your father healed you."

“Yes, he usually takes care of me. I can't remember being sick.” She explained. “I guess I am having that fever after spending a month in the dungeon.”
