CHAPTER 26

Evelyn watched as the poison from Diana's fingers walked through her body. She needed to act fast before anyone else noticed it, or Diana would die from it.

"Since she already poisoned her, I'll take Diana," Evelyn said, turning her gaze to look at the members of the banquet. "The banquet concluded; the king has already introduced his bride."

She picked up Diana, who was already being affected by the poison, and hurried away before anyone could stop her. Neon wanted to go after her but was stopped by Ashford.

"Let them go; I guess they have the antidote," Ashford muttered. "Neon, I want you to send a bat to keep an eye on them."

Neon nodded before leaving along with the other guards. One by one, the people in the hall began to leave. Relief washed over Luna; the night hadn't ended well. However, she was glad that the one who poisoned got to feel the taste of the poison too.

"Are you trying to get us killed?" Una's voice echoed. "What was that? Putting your body in front of him?"
