Bryan wiped his mouth and stood up after they were done eating. "We should head out," he said to Aiden, who was already on his feet.

They left the pub and made their way to the woods. The men earlier had described what part of the woods the old man would be in, so it was easier to find the man, but even without that, it was still possible that they could have just tracked him down.

"This place feels… off," Aiden muttered as his eyes scanned the whole place. "There is some kind of energy here."

Bryan nodded in agreement. "We are getting close though," he said quietly as they kept walking.

A small cabin finally came into view, its thatched roof sagging and looking old. They wondered how the old man managed to survive in the woods all alone.

"This has to be it," Aiden said, his voice low. "It's definitely it."

Bryan nodded as he and Aiden went closer. But before they could knock, the door creaked open.

"Alphas." The old man's voice rasped from the doorway, his eyes sharp and clear despite his age. He looked at them as if he had known they were coming all along, which was quite shocking to them, especially the part where he referred to them as Alphas.

At this point, there was no doubt he was one of them. They could also smell him now. The old man was a werewolf.

"I have been expecting you," the old man continued, stepping aside and gesturing for them to enter. "My name is Baba Razz."

Without a word, Bryan and Aiden followed him inside. They both wondered why one of their own would go around spreading tales of their kind, knowing how dangerous it could be. They were going to ask him, but they remained silent for the meantime, taking in the sparse interior of the cabin.

"Please, sit," the old man said, motioning to two roughly carved chairs near the hearth. "We have lots to talk about."

Bryan and Aiden sat, still on guard but curious about the man's intentions. This Baba Razz spoke to them like they have known each other for a long time, and it was somewhat… Suspicious.

Baba Razz sat across from them, his hands folded in his lap. "I know what you are thinking," he began. "And I will explain everything."

"We have heard you have been telling people about…our kind," Bryan began carefully. "You know that is something we don't discuss with humans or rather expose so freely, and you should know how much danger you are putting yourself in if people found out what you truly are."

"I am aware of that," Baba Razz said and sighed, leaning back in his chair. "It was not my intention for all of these. I had a human friend years ago. This human friend found out things he was not supposed to find out, and that is how all these things started. Now, the villagers think I am a madman, but that is not relevant right now. You need not worry about it." He told them and waved a hand dismissively, "What is done, is done."

Aiden let out a breath and frowned. His mind was racing with questions, but the old man shook his head before they could ask more.

"Now, it is my turn to ask," he said to them and then asked. "Why have you come to see me?"

"What do you mean?" Aiden asked him. "We came to find out who it was that knew so much and spoke about things they should not know so much about."

"Yes, but why are you here," Baba Razz said and then got up, pacing around the room. "Ask the right questions. Earlier I told you I was expecting you both, and we have a lot to talk about. Why?"

"That is what we would like to know," Bryan cut in. "Why?"

"No, no boys," Baba Razz chuckled deeply, waving his fingers at them. "You need to ask the right questions, to get the answers you want. There is a reason you have found me today."

"And what would that reason be?" Aiden asked, getting annoyed with the whole turning around and not getting straight to the point. It was, no doubt, frustrating.

"I am a man of knowledge. I know many things and could give you answers to things you want to know," he informed them, "you just need to ask the right questions so that I can answer. Now I have given you both a hint. You are here because you have to be in order to understand many things that have happened, will happen and are bound to happen."

Bryan and Aiden looked at the old man, their brains trying to process everything he had said and what he could mean by those words. And the way they saw it, Baba Razz was not their typical old man, he looked strong, the way he moved, so fluid and effortless, and he did look full of knowledge.

"Those eyes of his," Bryan thought while thoroughly examining and observing the old man, "when you look into his eyes, you can't help but see it, feel it. His eyes seemed to hold a thousand stories, having seen more than most lifetimes."

And despite Baba Razz being so suspicious, they felt like he was also being sincere, which made their judgment of him confusing.

"What pack are you from? Or have you been banished?" Aiden asked Baba Razz, after taking some seconds to think.

"That is a good question," Baba Razz confirmed with a nod. "But not the question I want you to ask. If you ask the right question, you get answers to a lot of things and who knows, some of this information might be useful to you one day."

"This is crazy!" Aiden exclaimed and rubbed his face. "Are you trying to play with us? You make it seem like you are the one who brought us here, and not us coming to look for you."

"What if you were destined to find me?" Baba Razz chuckled and asked, his eyes filled with so much amusement.

"Brother, relax," Bryan said to Aiden, patting his back. He was also frustrated, but he could not resist how he felt about Baba Razz, and after he calmed Aiden down, he turned his attention back to Baba Razz and asked, "What are you? Are you a seer? I know you are a werewolf, but there is more to it, isn't there?"

"There is." Baba Razz responded with a smirk, "You are catching up really fast, I thought it might take a long while before one of you truly understood what is happening here, and I do enjoy testing your brains. So now ask!"

"How did our kind come into existence?" Bryan inquired, earning a wide smile from Baba Razz.

"Why did you ask that question?" Baba Razz asked Bryan, the smile on his face still intact. "There are so many questions to ask, why that one?"

"It is a question we did not know we needed to ask but somehow feels right and judging by the smile on your face, I am sure my brother has asked the right question," Aiden replied.

"I would say instincts guided him to ask that particular question, and of course that is the correct question." Baba Razz said to them before sitting back down.

Taking his seat, he leaned back, his face now serious. "It will be a long answer. Let's get comfortable."

The first leader said, his face hard. "I have been thinking," he began, his voice lower than before. "Have any of you ever wondered why she only takes the children, and why she only takes them during the full moon? It's always the full moon, always."The other leaders exchanged confused glances, but none of them had an answer to that, until one spoke."Because she is evil," the fourth leader replied, shaking his head. "That is the nature of these creatures, she is even worse than most.""No." The first leader said and shook his head sharply. "No. It is not just that. The old man, Baba Razz, had served them some tea as he told them about the origin of their kind, and now Bryan was so calm, trying to process everything Baba Razz had told them."And that… is how our kind came to be," Baba Razz finished, placing his own empty cup on the table with a gentle clink. For a moment, there was this heavy silence in the room before Aiden finally exhaled through his nose and leaned forward. "So…" he said slowly, trying to find the right words to ask what he wanted to ask. "So, you are telling me… No, you mean to tell me that the evil witch Dahlia is…the moon goddess?"Bryan, who also had this question in his mind, lowered his teacup but said nothing. His brows furrowed as he patiently waited for Baba Razz to confirm or deny it.Baba Razz hummed deeply, already expecting this question. "Who are you talking about?" Baba Razz asked them, his expression shifting from confusion to concern. "Our mate, Kira." Aiden answered, sharing a quick glance with Bryan. "She has a mark just like yours.""That's… peculiar," Baba Razz said slowly, letting out a deep breath, and then asked them. "Is it truly the same mark? Are you sure?""Yes! Absolutely." Bryan insisted. "We are not sure what to make of this. What does it mean?" "Can it be a coincidence?" Aiden asked Baba Razz, "I also can't help but feel it is not a coincidence with everything you have told us about the mark.""Unbelievable," Baba Razz murmured, shaking his head. He had been the one guiding her on how things worked, teaching her and showing her so many other things since Bryan and Aiden went on their business trip. Kira was genuinely grateful for his support and help, she truly wanted to do good."I wanted to go over the housing situation for new members," Ryker began, spreading some kind of chart in front of her. "We have had a few new wolves join recently… refugees from neighboring packs, and they need permanent places to stay. The Alphas are also aware of this but because of their meeting, a decision concerning this has not been made yet.""How many are we talking about?" Kira leaned over, scannin

As instructed, they all remained seated and waited patiently for her. No one said anything, and surprisingly, the silence wasn't empty. It didn't have any tension; it was comfortable, but still had the feel of emotions that weren't spoken. Along with that, Kira sat still, maybe not too still as she kept tapping her feet on the ground and her fingers lightly on her knee while glancing around and often stealing glances at Bryan and Aiden, who would also look at her from time to time and wink, even though they were all seated on one couch. And then, footsteps. It was soft but firm, quick yet steady in approach.Elara walked back into the room holding books and pens. Aiden shook his head softly at his mother and sighed, "We were not pretending to be happy. We were genuinely happy.""Yeah," Bryan and Kira murmured, concurring with what Aiden had said."That is what I don't understand," Elara said to them, the confused expression still etched on her face. "How can you be happy? This is very sad news. Extremely sad, and even I, myself, am still trying to wrap my head around the whole situation. So, how?""Mum, I understand you completely," Kira said. "I also cried, then we cuddled and then at dinner everyone was together again. Even my emotions right now are inconsistent because I don't know if I should cry, be sad, be happy or think about it, as we have been given a specific time to be together and so cuddling with them, talking and laughing at dinner helped me realize that it was better to be happy and just forget about the sad stuff for the moment. Leaving you all is already sad for me; you have no idea. But staying… even if it is my last day here

Dinner was great as always—the laughing, the conversation, the playful banter, everything. It was no surprise that manners were forgotten at the dining table, hence the talking while eating, and now everyone was relaxed and chatting as they were all done eating."Dad, Aiden and Bryan are just… they just won't stop messing with me," Kira complained to Orion, gesturing to Aiden and Bryan, who were grinning at first but immediately kept their faces serious when she complained about them."What now?" Orion asked Kira after looking over at his twins. "What are they doing this time?""Nothing," Bryan answered before Kira could. "We are literally not doing anything to her except keeping her on her toes. She can't even stay still on those toes, you know. We are simply just having fun, father.""Exactly," Aiden said and nodded in agreement. "We are not doing anything to her.""Seriously?" Orion said to Kira while chuckling, enjoying how his son teased her. "I'll get back at you, Bryan Tyrell," Kira threatened, narrowing her eyes at Bryan and crossing her arms. Leaning into Bryan, Kira took slow, uneven breaths, trying to calm herself. She knew it wasn't their fault for making such a decision, but it didn't help with how she felt inside. She was sad, exhausted and emotionally drained. She knew they would do anything for her, yet those words, "We can't ask you to wait for us," lingered, and it pained her so much. It pained her that there was nothing much she could do but leave. Staying might destroy them even more than leaving. And Kira knew that. She let out a shaky breath as Bryan rubbed her back and whispered sweet, soft words to her, her weight pressing into him as she could no longer really hold herself up. "It's okay," Bryan murmured, his chin resting lightly on the top of her head while he continued rubbing her back in slow, comforting circles. "We are here. He tilted his head back and closed his eyes, his chest heaving as he tried to calm himself and steady his breathing, but that was impossible. The ache in his heart refused to let up. He took deep breaths and exhaled shakily, his knuckles already white because of how tightly he balled his fists. After some minutes of inhaling and exhaling, he tightened and relaxed his fists, before he felt a hand on his shoulder.Bryan didn't need to check when he felt the hand on his shoulder; he just prepared himself, knowing what was coming, and he knew that whatever was coming was going to be for the best."You know what we have to do." Aiden's voice was low, controlled, and filled with the pain he didn't try to hide. He stepped closer, his hand still on Bryan's shoulder. "This curse of a thing is just so exhausting.""I know, I understand," Morane said, raising her hands slightly. "But listen to me first.
