Chapter 2

After some years

Selena stood at the entrance of the nursery school and smiled as she watched other kids leave the school.

She knew that a moment from now,her children would all rush out towards their mummy.

Dressed in a short green dress with her long,silky hair which gently flowed beneath her shoulders with a pretty smile on her round,almond face,she continued to look towards the entrance.

“Hi Selena. Here to pick the kids?.”

A teacher turned friend asked and smiled “yeah".

I'm jealous,one wouldn't guess that you already gave birth to triplets” she said and smiled while her face flustered " despite that,you still have the body of a teenager,if only i can be like that”.

Just before she could respond three children came rushing toward her. The moment they got toi her presence, they all hugged her at once, forming a circle around her. She smiled and looked at her children. Her joy,her pride.

“Mommy, Ray offended our teacher today , her eldest child, kia said.

Ray was her second child.He already felt a bit guilty.

“Oh my! Hope you weren't scolded tat much!and Kia, what did I tell you about your siblings?"

“To take them!"

“Why did you not do that?"

“Of course I did! Mom, Beauty got a flower from her crush today, Kia said again.

What? Crush at your age? These children wouldn't kill her! She thought in shock and suddenly smiled.

“Alright dear,can we go home now?”

" Won't you say anything about that,mum?”

" Shush….we will talk about that when we get home!" She said and smiled as she ushered them to the side of the road where they would get a cab to get home.

At the other side of the road was a black, Benz car which was speeding across the road, he involuntarily snapped his head towards the side where Selena and her kids were.

“Whao" he exclaim while his boss who was seated at the back wondered what made his driver exclaim.

“Is everything alright"

“Boss, look at that woman and her kids.

Such is rare! Giving birth to such kids at the same time" he said and smiled while his boss looked towards the window coldly.

Since the car was driving too fast, he only took a glance at the woman and her kids but didn't get to see them clearly.

“What has that got to do with me? Never bother me with this again!"he said coldly and closed his eyes as he rested his head on the backseat.

His driver was so shocked. Even though things were hectic at work,must he always be so cold? Can't he just loosen up a bit? He thought.

He smiled. A fake smile to be precise.

*and mom she was beaten" Ray said smiling as he looked at his mother. They had actually been telling their mother's story to keep her worries out of bay. Ever since then,she wouldn't stop smiling till they got to their house.

“Welcome back,Miss Selena" her children Nanny said and smiled “thank you"

“go ahead and wash up. Then,come and eat dinner."

“No dear, I'll do that later. Help the kids wash up and feed them their food.

I need to get them their late night snack" she replied and walked towards the kitchen while Lydia helped the kids to their room.

Her three children were actually a product of the one night stand three years ago. When she found out that she was carrying three children at once,all hell let loose and all she wanted was just to have it aborted but now, she was glad she didn't do that.

She could have done that but her doctor told her that if she did, she wouldn't conceive again and then,she was at college.

She kept up with the shame and embarrassment just to have her children.

Just because of that,as soon as she was done with college,she reallocated to Oklahoma city where she was currently.

It was not an easy thing to care for three children at once but she was glad.

Even though her children were naughty at times,they were still obedient and helpful. They knew when their mother wanted them to be around her and when not. They understood their mother's sign language a lot and she was thankful for that.

Her first child, a boy, Kia, took after her and had a great sense of reasoning to take care of his siblings.

Ray was the second child. He was the most stubborn and loved ro prove that he was right in everything.

Beauty was the third child. And the girl who sometimes acted childish. She was a meek girl and liked to be on her own. But then,Selena had a lot going on in her mind. She loved the kids so much and wanted to take care of them with her money. She wanted to spoil them to a fault but she had no money to do so. She was still searching for a job. They had been depending on their savings for the rent and their school expenses but they were running out of cash and she needed money.

She didn't want to go hungry with her kids. The thought of hunger made her sad. If only luck would just smile on her.

It seemed like a coincidence at the moment because when she thought of that,her phone rang. She wondered who it was because it was an unsaved number. She sighed and picked up the call.

“ Is this Miss Selena Martins?A woman she presumed would be in her forties said over the phone.

“Yeah,how may I help you?" 

" We are calling from the personnel development of Stanford TV station”

The moment she heard that,she suddenly sprang.

" Congratulations, you've been hired to be working directly in our department. You have to come early, at least 7:00 am!" Immediately she heard that,her sadness faded away into thin air which was replaced with glinted sparks in her eyes.

“Thank you!" she said and smiled as the woman hung up.

“Yes!!!” she screamed out. As if the heavens heard her thoughts!She was definitely the happiest person in the world at that moment. She wished her children were older,maybe they would rejoice with her also.

Nevertheless,she still felt happy.She would make sure to spoil her children so much that other children would be so envious of them,she thought and smiled as she hurriedly prepared their snacks and served them while she ate her own meal.

The next morning, she had hurriedly prepared her children for school with the help of their nanny while she hurriedly prepared for work.

Few minutes later,she had gotten to her new place of work. She realized that she was thirty minutes earlier which made her smile. Just as she hurriedly had her paperwork and her work card obtained, the door of the office suddenly opened. She looked up to see a young woman she assumed to be in her early forties walked towards her.

Heels clicked and dressed in an official gown,she glared at Selena codly as she got towards her.

“Hi,!”Selena said,trying to act all friendly.

“Selena Martins?” She asked harshly.

" Yeah,” she said and smiled. The moment she said that,she got angrier. She hated the fact that someone prettier than her was just employed. Before she came,she was the glory of the company. The queen beaty. No one else superseded them in that aspect. Now ,seeing Selena looking so beautiful and sexy,she got so jealous that she wished she would have the powers to wipe her out of the company.

“You're responsible for carrying of as ⁰

camera?” She said and looked at her with hostility.

What? She thought within herself. Camera? That was the most stressful job ever but then, who was she to complain? She was a newbie and had no right to complain.

“Listen carefully! This interview is very important! We will be interviewing an important figure! If anything goes wrong,you will be held accountable! She said harshly 

Selena slowly nodded wondering why this woman was so harsh at her. She had never met her before and had never done anything to wrong her since she came this morning. She didn't understand why this woman was acting so indifferent towards her. She wanted to ask who the important figure was but because of her actions,she decided against it.

The woman snorted and left. Soon, a young man came inside.

“Hi, Selena, right?" he asked and smiled while she nodded. She was beginning to think that maybe they weren't friendly in the company.

“We have to meet up with Dora, the woman who left just now"

“Oh,she is Dora,"

“Yeah! Be careful of her, she's like a venom snake. Don't mess with her. She's good at her job but she's very hot tempered”The man said and smiled.

" Oh thanks for letting me know"

Since he acted all nice towards her,she decided to ask what she was curious about.

“Who's the man we are interviewing?

I heard that he's very important from her"

With the way she talked earlier,he must be handsome because she talked with pride.

“Hey, keep your voice low, you mustn't let her hear you!” He replied. She mouthed an ‘ oh and looked at him.

“It's the sexy billionaire of our city,the man whom every lady wants,Banks Anderson".
