Kihara woke up to an empty bed. This was becoming a normal since she’d been sharing her bed with Asher. He woke up earlier than she did so that he could join morning patrol. The mornings where always so important, Asher had said. If anything had happened in the woods in the cover of night, morning would uncover him. His Alpha nose could pick up the slowest of Scents, and his Alpha eyes could pick up even the tiniest of prints.

The first time the rogue had been sighted, it was in the morning. And the second time he had acted, it had also been daylight. Most supernatural predators liked to hunt under the cover of darkness, but this one loved to do it in broad daylight. Kihara had been confused by this and so she’d asked.

It was Lady Walter that answered on the table where they had breakfast. She said. “The sun rules the day and the moon rules the night. The Rogue is cursed by the moon, so it must fear the night.”
