My beauty sleep was interrupted by a phone call. I wanted to ignore it then I remembered this was the day for the seminar, and it could be really important. When I picked up my phone, I saw that it was the chief editor.

"Remember to get to the office before everyone, and give the drive containing the slides to the production team," he said, and I groaned lazily, then I ended the call.

For a while, I laid down on bed rethinking my actions, and the fact that I was going to resign today. Kate would finally know and I had no lie prepared yet to tell her.

Trying to salvage my situation, I decided to pull myself up, and get going. I was supposed to give the drive by nine o'clock but I decided to do it earlier when no one would see me.
