Buying your silence

Molly:

When I got out of bed, I hurriedly took a shower then I wore a corporate fit before stepping out. Kate wasn't awake yet, so I didn't bother telling her. I dashed out of the apartment and found my way to the street where I flagged down a taxi.

A few minutes later the taxi came to a halt in front of the company building. I took a deep breath before walking through the siding doors, and my day started badly immediately. The first face I met was that of the secretary.

"I see you made it to work in time and you have escaped getting fired on your first day," she said, and I did nothing but smile.

Deep down I wanted to smack her face, and strangle her with the bowtie which she had on her neck. It was ridiculous, and it had nothing to do with her outfit but since she was a narcissist she would definitely not listen to anyone.

"Well, I'm here to direct you to your new office," she said, and I followed her.

The receptionist was around, so I waved to her before getting into the elevator.
