REGGIE AND CHRIS- Deidre
Reggie tried to keep her cool as she watched Deidre alight from his rickety car.
If someone ever told her that she’d be this excited to hear and see the car that had annoyed her pretty much over the past two years, Reggie would have called the person a serious liar and probably would have had them charged for treason, or maybe worse… like cast into the dungeons.
But here she was, truly fawning over it, and barely being able to do something about it.
“So you dump all the work on me and take off on some Cinderella adventure, leaving me to deal with the real world, huh?” Deidre started dramatically as soon as he stepped out of the car. “See? I had always known you were a bitch.”
Reggie laughed and wrapped her arms around her assistant in a hug. “Oh, Deidre… what a dramatic way to tell me you have missed me.” She teased. “You know, you could have just said the words
REGGIE AND CHRIS- Beautiful start, ugly endChris had always thought that Deidre was a woman! So he hadn’t even bothered to meet her after allowing her access into his house. You can imagine his surprise therefore when he suddenly heard purely masculine laughter wafting into his study. He had been surprised and curious, and so he had decided to go and take a look, hiding his intentions under the guise of wanting to know what Reggie wanted to have for lunch. There sat Deidre, a complete man all right, but with an interesting twist.Chris slowly felt his anxiety ebb somewhat as he made his way to the kitchen to get started on lunch.Deidre was no competition? The revelation that he had been worried that Reggie might have another love interest after William really unsettled the man though. What exactly did it mean?He honestly didn’t care. Really, he didn’t.Liar.
REGGIE AND CHRIS- BleedingTwo whole months. Two whole months since the incident, and things were just as tensious as before. So much so that Chris was already so full of regret. If someone had told him that his short outburst would have launched such a devastating aftermath, he probably would have called them a liar, but things were actually that bad.Reggie did not talk to him.Like at all.She didn’t eat his foods, choosing instead to live off fruits and vegetables, and other stuff that didn’t require much any complex skill. The tension had been so unbearable that Chris had gotten a housemaid to come live with them. He was the one who had ruined their budding relationship,She didn’t have to suffer for it?Fortunately, Reggie had hit it off with the maid, Janet… so at least Chris didn’t have to worry about that aspect of their life anymore. REGGIE AND CHRIS- New Beginnings “So you’re trying to tell me that our child is perfectly fine?” Chris asked in complete confusion. “Yes, Mr. Ayettey…” The doctor assured him with a wide grin. “But, I thought bleeding was a sign of a miscarriage,” Reggie interrupted, equally confused. “It is, but that is not always the case, Mrs. Ayettey—” “Oh, uh… we’re not married.” She corrected, a light blush coating her cheeks… one that had Chris grinning like an awestruck idiot. “My apologies, then. Anyway, as I was saying… bleeding isn’t always a sign of a miscarriage. It can be sign of implantation of the embryo in the uterus, like yours was… there are other reasons for bleeding during pregnancy, but I wouldn’t want to bore you to death with all of that.” He finished. “But I thought implantation and everything that had to do with that occurred in the first trimester?” Reggie asked after a moment’s thought. “Yes, great question.”
"Hey... sorry I'm late." Louisa smiled apologetically at her best friend Naa Larley as she took her seat."I can't believe you ordered without me." She complained, her tone light and playful. It was their lunch break, and despite being very busy, successful women, with their own companies, they always met for lunch at their usual hangout, Jerry's...at least twice a week. They had been doing this for almost ten years; you could even call it their thing now. There were sometimes hindrances, with the occasional lateness like today, but they never cancelled on each other.Naa laughed. "When I called and you told me you were stuck in the lunch break traffic around the independence square...I thought you were going to break our ten year record finally; plus… a girl's gotta eat."Louisa shook her head playfully. For the next hour, they filled each other up with gossip and long talk amidst good food and wine.Jerry's was truly the best.Time ra
"Miss Mensah, you are to be present at the headmaster's office at 3 for a brief meeting concerning your daughter." Someone Louisa was assuming was the secretary replied."But is Isabel alright?" Louisa asked perplexed."Yes ma'am. It's not really a health related issue. Everything is alright."The secretary's voice toned down into conspiratorial whisper. "Heads up, it's actually a minor issue, nothing to worry about. Well in my opinion."Louisa sighed in relief. "Thank you very much then. I'll be there."At thirteen and in junior high school, this was the first time Louisa was being summoned to her daughter's school for something that wasn't a general issue. Her baby was a good kid; never got into trouble, she really hoped it wasn't a serious problem. She glanced at the wall clock in her office. It was 1:45 and she really had to leave if she wanted to be at the school on time. Mensah and Associates was located in the central business district of Accra and her daugh
Louisa yawned tiredly as she combed her hair. She hadn't been able to get much sleep last night; she had been angry as fuck. Suicide wasn't a small issue and she was really itching to sue foolish Mr. Phillips to the moon and back for being so stupid. She had a lot going on her mind right now but she couldn't really do much till she had spoken to Melissa. She heard her phone ring and rushed to the bedroom to answer it."Hey girl." Naa Larley beamed as soon as Louisa answered the video call."Jesus, you look like shit even with the makeup, I wonder how you'd look without it then." Naa commented.Louisa rolled her eyes. Trust Naa Larley to tell it like it is."Aren't you going to work today?" She asked."No." Naa responded."Remember the wedding in Kumasi I told you about? Well the engagement is on Friday so I have to be there today. I'm actually en route atm… I have like two hours to go."Naa Larley was into event planning and she was dam
Louisa was surprised to hear laughter as she stepped into her house that afternoon.... or should I say dusk. Her watch read 5:00 pm; definitely dusk. You could even call it evening. Her mum and Isa and a pretty chubby girl who she was assuming was Melissa were in the kitchen making dinner."Hey guys." She spoke out in a bid to get their attention, and it worked."Mummy!!!" Isa exclaimed and with a run, crushed her mother in a hug.Melissa laughed. "Aren't you like too old for this Is?"Meanwhile Isa was telling her mother in an undertone, "Be nice mum, please."Turning to face her friend, the teenager shrugged. "I know I'm too old for that, but I'm mummy's only baby and if I don't do these little things, no one would."Isabel and Melissa burst into laughter at the horrified faces of Louisa and her mother.Mrs. Mensah shook her head before joining in on the laughter. Wiping a tear from her eye, she said, “Jesus Lou, she's even more savage
The door to her office banged shut, causing Louisa to look up in alarm to realise it was only Naa Larley. She opened her mouth to ask what her friend was doing at her office so early in the day but halted when she saw the look on Naa Larley's face.Standing up worriedly, she asked. "What's wrong Naa? Is everything okay?"Naa raised a hand signalling for a moment as she breathed in deeply to slow down her breathing. But she realised Louisa was getting more anxious so she whispered in between breaths."Will....William is he..here Lou."Louisa's eyes widened in fear. "Here as in here in the firm?"Naa Larley shook her head. "No he's back in the country."Louisa started to tremble. "You're lying Naa...right? Please tell me it's some joke, like maybe its April fool's. It's first April right?" Reaching out for the calendar on the desk, a glance told her it was March 26th, and that's when her heart literally stopped."How can I joke about something like t

REGGIE AND CHRIS- Thinking things, seeing thingsFor the first time since she got here, Chris spent the entire day with her!Well, it wasn’t exactly the entire day since it wasn’t even two o’clock yet. What Reggie meant was that even after they had had breakfast, the handsome hunk still hung around the living room like some ghost… instead of locking himself in his study like he usually did, even though there was some kind of tension in the air after his outburst about liking how she enjoyed his meals. That tension had put a bit of a strain on the flow of their conversations, so they weren’t really talking. Plus, Reggie had her phone back so she was much more focused on letting the few people she had in her life know that she hadn’t vanished off the face of the earth. She was pretty sure that her mother had kept most of them posted, but just a text wasn’t bad, and so that was exactly what she was d
REGGIE AND CHRIS- The ruined breakfastReggie had never been this bored in her life!It had already been a week since she agreed to her baby daddy’s crazy proposition and she could swear that she was already starting to regret the decision. You see, Reggie had always felt that the housewife kind of life was never meant for her.And the past week had proved her completely right! But at least things would have been a bit more bearable if she was seeing said baby daddy often. The man mostly kept to himself, meeting her in the dining room for breakfast and lunch and supper only, and then shutting himself in his study for the rest of the day.He was with her in the house, but it for sure didn’t feel like it to the supermodel.Plus, without her phone or laptop, Reggie had only television to keep her company through the lonely times, and she wasn’t much of a TV person so you can just imagine how lonely she
REGGIE AND CHRIS- The PropositionReggie finished the whole carton of apple fruit juice and the packet of biscuits, much to her pleasant surprise. She hadn’t eaten that well in days, and she honestly felt so much better already.Chris on the other hand was very pleased. He had been covert in his observations, but seeing the annoying vixen eat and knowing that she was doing it to sustain herself and his unborn child was doing something to his insides. He was feeling so high, he wanted to climb to the highest mountain to shout that he was going to be a father. He still couldn’t believe it!It truly felt too good to be true. But at this point, he was done trying to make sense of the mechanisms of fate. He was going to do his best to make sure that the cards he had been dealt with worked in his favor. He heard Reggie clear her throat shyly, the action snapping him out of his thoughts.“I-I didn&rsq
REGGIE AND CHRIS- Things are going to changeHonestly speaking, when Chris opened the door and found her missing, and checked the bathroom and washroom and didn’t find her there, he knew right there and then that she had left. But he still wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. And so he had gone out and searched the hospital halls, checked other wards… asked the nurses even. But no one had seen her.He had returned back to her ward and checked the drawers after his search had yielded no response, and that was when he had found that her clothes and car keys gone.Chris grinned. For some reason he thought this would have been an easy task. He had forgotten for a moment just how annoying the supermodel was, he really should have known that she wasn’t just going to sit back and do his bidding just because he had said so.Oh, but he had a plan. She was definitely going to move in with him,
REGGIE AND CHRIS- The escapeReggie stared at Chris in total confusion.“What the hell are you talking about? What child?”Chris studied her, looking for any signs of acting or… something, but he realised that she was genuinely confused. “You didn’t know?” He asked her.She shook her head.“Well, you’re pregnant.” He confirmed. “Now, I didn’t think it was my place so I haven’t called William yet, that’s assuming it’s even his in the first place…”Reggie wasn’t listening to a single thing the man was saying, her brain was furiously doing calculations and making deductions. She had missed her period, but she didn’t really think much of it.She had blamed her stress and crazy resting and eating patterns for the skip. Plus it usually happened, so it wasn’t really anything out of the ordinary. Fu
