Louisa yawned tiredly as she combed her hair. She hadn't been able to get much sleep last night; she had been angry as fuck. Suicide wasn't a small issue and she was really itching to sue foolish Mr. Phillips to the moon and back for being so stupid. She had a lot going on her mind right now but she couldn't really do much till she had spoken to Melissa.
She heard her phone ring and rushed to the bedroom to answer it."Hey girl." Naa Larley beamed as soon as Louisa answered the video call."Jesus, you look like shit even with the makeup, I wonder how you'd look without it then." Naa commented.Louisa rolled her eyes. Trust Naa Larley to tell it like it is."Aren't you going to work today?" She asked."No." Naa responded."Remember the wedding in Kumasi I told you about? Well the engagement is on Friday so I have to be there today. I'm actually en route atm… I have like two hours to go."Naa Larley was into event planning and she was damn good at it. She managed a lot of the famous events, and all her clients had nothing but positive feedback."I spoke to mama yesterday and she filled me in on what happened with Isa yesterday." She stated.Louisa's eyes widened in surprise. News really did travel fast nowadays."You know what? I know you...and I know that's reason for you looking like a panda, no offence. But my advice to you is stop stressing yourself out, you tend to do that a lot. You've got this. Alright?"Louisa nodded gratefully. She really needed that. As they continued to chat, Louisa heard a knock at her door."Mummy, I'm done so we can leave now if you are too." Isa yelled."Alright honey. Give me a minute, I'll be down soon" She yelled back.Naa Larley placed her palms on a chest and with fake tears uttered, "You guys are so cute, I should get going though; I don't want to make you late."Louisa nodded. "Alright. Call me when you get to Kumasi." She hanged up right after.Louisa knew the issue of childbirth had been a problem for Naa Larley and her husband, Michael. The couple had been trying since they got married fifteen years ago but to no avail. Naa was bothered than she cared to let on but you wouldn't really notice since she wasn't the type to wear her heart on her sleeve- and Louisa tried as much as possible to be there for her best friend whenever it got too much and she broke down.Louisa headed downstairs to the kitchen where her mother and Isa were having breakfast. "Join us Louisa.” Mrs Mensah beckoned with a wave but Louisa just laughed. "I don't know why you keep asking, mama. You always do and I always tell you I'm not hungry; you should give up by now."Mrs Mensah threw her daughter a dirty look "You think skipping breakfast is a good thing, eh? Go ahead. It's your health not mine."Isa and Louisa giggled. Mama said this all the time but seemed to forget and always asked Louisa to join her for breakfast the very next day.Louisa glanced at her daughter. The teenager was in a much better mood. She was almost herself, and for Louisa that was great news. She waited for her daughter to finish her breakfast and when she went upstairs to get her school bag, Louisa decided to hear her mum's plans for the day.Mrs. Mensah rolled her eyes. "I'm a big girl Lou. All you have to know is that I'm not going to be staying at home if that's what is bothering you."Her mum was right. Louisa was worried. Ever since she lost her dad, her mum was all she had and she had become very protective of the old woman. She tried as much as possible to subtly and full on encourage her to go out more often as loneliness bred sorrow."Alright mum, you can do whatever you want. Just don't go out without the driver okay?" She pleaded. "Alright alright. Jeez you'd think I was rather the child." Mrs. Mensah grumbled. Louisa laughed and gave her mother a hug. "Yes mama, you're now my first born child." She teased.Just then Isa came down. "We can go now mummy. Bye grandma, don't miss me too much."Mrs Mensah laughed. "Sure thing baby."The drive to East Airport International School took about 20 minutes. The duo always left home before 6:30 in order to beat the morning traffic.Isabel gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and promising to be good and keep her temper in check, she alighted and headed towards her class. After Louisa was sure her daughter had disappeared, she got down, locked her car and headed towards the headmaster's office. The secretary was nowhere to be found but a knock at his door told her he was in.Skipping all formalities, she went straight to the point. "You know Mr Phillips, my daughter told me everything and to be honest, although I don't condone violence, I must admit I could never be more proud. At least she's got more balls than you could ever dream of. Suicide! Mr Phillips, Suicide. I don't think you realise the gravity of the situation, because if you did, you'd have done something about it." She paced across the room waiting to hear him say something but he never did and this infuriated her further."Everything in me is itching to have you sued but I understand the situation and that's the only reason why I'm not doing anything rash but trust me, you'll hear from me soon." With that, she walked out of the office. She arrived at Mensah and Associates around 8:30 and she immediately handed the file she was working on to her personal assistant.Akua was surprised. "How were you able to finish working on it? You either have superpowers or you did not get any sleep last night."Louisa laughed. "Definitely the latter Akua, because if I had super powers, the world would be a better place."Akua gasped. "Oh my God, is it Isa? Is she alright?""Oh yeah yeah." Louisa calmed her down. "She got into a fight but fortunately no one was hurt." She turned to leave for her office but seemed to have remembered something and came back."Akua, please keep all calls coming in. I'm going to be here till three so..."Akua beamed and nodded in mock salute. “Yes ma'am.REGGIE AND CHRIS- New Beginnings “So you’re trying to tell me that our child is perfectly fine?” Chris asked in complete confusion. “Yes, Mr. Ayettey…” The doctor assured him with a wide grin. “But, I thought bleeding was a sign of a miscarriage,” Reggie interrupted, equally confused. “It is, but that is not always the case, Mrs. Ayettey—” “Oh, uh… we’re not married.” She corrected, a light blush coating her cheeks… one that had Chris grinning like an awestruck idiot. “My apologies, then. Anyway, as I was saying… bleeding isn’t always a sign of a miscarriage. It can be sign of implantation of the embryo in the uterus, like yours was… there are other reasons for bleeding during pregnancy, but I wouldn’t want to bore you to death with all of that.” He finished. “But I thought implantation and everything that had to do with that occurred in the first trimester?” Reggie asked after a moment’s thought. “Yes, great question.”
REGGIE AND CHRIS- BleedingTwo whole months. Two whole months since the incident, and things were just as tensious as before. So much so that Chris was already so full of regret. If someone had told him that his short outburst would have launched such a devastating aftermath, he probably would have called them a liar, but things were actually that bad.Reggie did not talk to him.Like at all.She didn’t eat his foods, choosing instead to live off fruits and vegetables, and other stuff that didn’t require much any complex skill. The tension had been so unbearable that Chris had gotten a housemaid to come live with them. He was the one who had ruined their budding relationship,She didn’t have to suffer for it?Fortunately, Reggie had hit it off with the maid, Janet… so at least Chris didn’t have to worry about that aspect of their life anymore. He had someon
REGGIE AND CHRIS- Beautiful start, ugly endChris had always thought that Deidre was a woman! So he hadn’t even bothered to meet her after allowing her access into his house. You can imagine his surprise therefore when he suddenly heard purely masculine laughter wafting into his study. He had been surprised and curious, and so he had decided to go and take a look, hiding his intentions under the guise of wanting to know what Reggie wanted to have for lunch. There sat Deidre, a complete man all right, but with an interesting twist.Chris slowly felt his anxiety ebb somewhat as he made his way to the kitchen to get started on lunch.Deidre was no competition? The revelation that he had been worried that Reggie might have another love interest after William really unsettled the man though. What exactly did it mean?He honestly didn’t care. Really, he didn’t.Liar.
REGGIE AND CHRIS- DeidreReggie tried to keep her cool as she watched Deidre alight from his rickety car.If someone ever told her that she’d be this excited to hear and see the car that had annoyed her pretty much over the past two years, Reggie would have called the person a serious liar and probably would have had them charged for treason, or maybe worse… like cast into the dungeons. But here she was, truly fawning over it, and barely being able to do something about it.“So you dump all the work on me and take off on some Cinderella adventure, leaving me to deal with the real world, huh?” Deidre started dramatically as soon as he stepped out of the car. “See? I had always known you were a bitch.”Reggie laughed and wrapped her arms around her assistant in a hug. “Oh, Deidre… what a dramatic way to tell me you have missed me.” She teased. “You know, you could have just said the words
REGGIE AND CHRIS- Thinking things, seeing thingsFor the first time since she got here, Chris spent the entire day with her!Well, it wasn’t exactly the entire day since it wasn’t even two o’clock yet. What Reggie meant was that even after they had had breakfast, the handsome hunk still hung around the living room like some ghost… instead of locking himself in his study like he usually did, even though there was some kind of tension in the air after his outburst about liking how she enjoyed his meals. That tension had put a bit of a strain on the flow of their conversations, so they weren’t really talking. Plus, Reggie had her phone back so she was much more focused on letting the few people she had in her life know that she hadn’t vanished off the face of the earth. She was pretty sure that her mother had kept most of them posted, but just a text wasn’t bad, and so that was exactly what she was d
REGGIE AND CHRIS- The ruined breakfastReggie had never been this bored in her life!It had already been a week since she agreed to her baby daddy’s crazy proposition and she could swear that she was already starting to regret the decision. You see, Reggie had always felt that the housewife kind of life was never meant for her.And the past week had proved her completely right! But at least things would have been a bit more bearable if she was seeing said baby daddy often. The man mostly kept to himself, meeting her in the dining room for breakfast and lunch and supper only, and then shutting himself in his study for the rest of the day.He was with her in the house, but it for sure didn’t feel like it to the supermodel.Plus, without her phone or laptop, Reggie had only television to keep her company through the lonely times, and she wasn’t much of a TV person so you can just imagine how lonely she
