Chapter 4

The Moonless Pack is nearly as big as the capital. If the capital has so much mountain, the Moonless Pack is rich in forest and woods. Misty didn't wait for my order and do all things necessary to makes me comfortable. Not that I want to be comfortable right now. But the boring atmosphere gives me a headache!

“What's with this place?” I nearly rolled my eyes, and Misty can only pouted behind me. If not for the fact that the forest just behind the resident is kind of giving off pressure that strange me, I should have smash her for ever gives me idea of this place!

“This area is quite. Don't you like it, Young lady?” Misty ask without the ounce of regrets. Just earlier she's babbling how she'll leave to participate with the festivities in the central area. She's excited to the idea of especulating what kind of man she's fate with!

I shrugged to the question and dismiss her. “Go! I'll have to journey that forest later,” I said and her face brightened.

“Young lady!”

“Go before I change my mind-” before I could finish, she already gone outside. I sigh and didn't pursue the matter of her boring dreams of finding her fated love.

This area is sure quite, far from the boring festivities and rituals in the central. I choose this area with a reason, and thanks for Misty famialarity in this place, she makes things all easy. Though, her ancestor own the area, Misty didn't fond of silence and I can only guess the headache she cause with her ancestor.

“Not that I care,” I said and push the thought away. The strange pressure poured throughout my body and I shiver slightly. There's seems to be a barrier that restricting this force to fully goes so far of reaching the boundary of the forest. 

This cause me to stop just a few feet away to enter the forest. The pressure that trying to smash me is getting excited and I couldn't help but felt the dread. The last awakening came to my mind like a stab of my heart and I step back a few steps, shivering to the idea that I've becoming my more weak than before.

“A mere pressure causing me this dread,” I thought, my heart shaken. For unknown reason, I doubt if I can survive just entering this forest? 

While I'm busy pondering the dread, my heart is in chaos. I try to push them away, but it's no way of easy. I am weak and that's the reality!

Slowly, the light slowly lifted, and I waited for the darkness to fully surround the place. 

I maybe weak... but I'm curse!

“Right now, I still need this curse to journey the forest,” I thought, feeling somewhat conflicted. 

This is the curse that I'm dreaded the most, but this also helps a lot, fill me strenght when I'm lost. But this curse is also the reason why I'm weak, so if it's trully needed that I depends on it.

Like this very time. I will depend this journey with my curse!

Somehow, the pressure lost effect in me. The darkness is so strong in this place, perhaps having no moon

helps alot. And the curse kindly excited that I almost couldn't believe it!

“This doesn't happen last night,” I murmured, pondering a bit as I scan the forest. It hit me that there's must be unique in this forest that this curse is kind of excited, and not at all because of the curse!

My heart tremble just as the curse trully excited that I clearly saw my body and not at all transparent right now! 

I waited for something to happen, as if something and someone notice me already because of it, but fortunately, there's no one. I sigh and felt I'm being cautious that strange me. Every now and then, the last awakening trully reference through my mind and awoke all my senses and even the feeling I'm suppose in-control before.

Now, my heart shook, and it cause my eyes to scan everywhere. But there's none!

“What is this feeling?” I walk fast through the deep of the forest with my heart booming from now and then. So far, only the strange creatures native in the forest meet my eyes, strange to the way none of them ever cross path with mine.

Not that I expecting much of this night, to ever think of socializing with this strange creatures that populating the forest. But are they not avoiding me just now?

“No possible,” I shrugged. “My curse is no way of weak. If it is, then it should not be such a bother that weakened me throughout century!”

Suddenly, a roared frightened these creature, run so fast as if their life is on the line. Strangely, the pressure gone for good after the roared that pierce through my ears. This is accompanied with dread that I almost couldn't believe I hear so clear as if near my ears!

One thing I notice, the excitement of the curse already gone just after the sulking cry, or was it the pressure is gone for good? 

I don't know, and I can only shrugged away the tought. This isn't the time to think the matter, yet it's such a bother. There's something I forgot about the Moonless Pack...

I fully focus to the surrounding, trying to make out the path that strange creature run to. Their furs so smooth as it blows by the wind, and I couldn't believe to even think they are somewhat familiar. Are they a known species?

“They sure are intelligence,” I said, but couldn't make out what kind of species this creature is. They are barely the same height with me, but I couldn't dare to compare. They are taller if they stood the way a human do!

“They can see me, huh?” I said, sounded unbother, yet my heart panted very hard. I should have step back and gone away this forest, but there's something I couldn't point out what, looking at me secretly just this moment. 

My body is clearly seen, so this cpuldn't be an illusion! But then, it is really possible that the curse fail to vanish me even to the creature of this forest?

The strange creatures is surely avoiding me, and here I thought it's just coincidence. But just now, a creature suddenly halted, look at me with terror in its eyes, then howl so high pitch that cause my heart to shook, and even my mind to spun!

The creature gone the moment my mind is clear to think it's really not an coincidence!

But this time, my heart tremble. I step back several times, murmured as my eyes couldn't stay at one place, “That's...not at all just a mere creature of this place!”

I realize this forest might be... the Moonless pack itself...
