Chapter Two: Exposed Secrets

Freya's POV

I stared at Rhegar, my emotions swirling with confusion and hope. But to my shock, he walked past me and stopped in front of Fianna. His lips brushed her cheek, and my chest nearly caved in. I wonder why I had to feel that way when he wasn't even my mate.

“Go easy on her,” he said, a smirk tugging at his lips, before leaving the classroom.

The room grew colder. Fianna’s icy gaze locked onto me. “So, which family do you hail from?” she asked, her tone laced with condescension.

“Why should I tell you anything about me?” I shot back, raising my head to meet her glare.

Fara moved to strike me, but Fianna raised a hand to stop her. “I like this one,” she said, her lips curling into a smirk. “She’s an omega, but wolfless. Let’s see how long you’ll last here.”

With that, she turned and walked away, the remaining F3 following like shadows.

My breath hitched as I tried to steady myself. The room felt suffocating, the weight of their ridicule pressing down on me. This place wasn’t safe—I needed to convince my mother to let me transfer.

“You’ll get used to it,” Roseline said softly, offering me a reassuring smile.

“No, I won’t,” I replied firmly. “I hate it here already.”

Her smile faltered, but she shrugged. “The F4 runs this school. They’re the richest and most powerful wolves around. The girls date the F4 boys, who are just as untouchable as they are.”

I frowned. “Why are they targeting me?”

“You’re new,” she explained. “It’ll pass. But don’t even think about looking at their men like you did Rhegar today. For a second, I thought you were going to ask him out.”

The thought made my cheeks burn, and I quickly shook my head.

The day dragged on, and by the time I got home, I was drained.

“How was school?” my mother asked as she served dinner.

I didn’t reply, focusing instead on the food.

“Your father’s friend is visiting tonight, and he’s bringing his family. Be on your best behavior,” she added.

Violet nudged me, and I nodded.

“What about your bottle? Did you finish it?” my mother asked, her eyes sharp.

I froze for a moment before answering. “Yes.”

I didn’t dare mention the metallic taste, the uncanny resemblance to human blood.

My father entered the room, his deep voice breaking the tension. “Something smells delicious.” He kissed my head before sitting down. “Did you tell her?” he asked my mother.

“She knows,” was all she said, her tone cryptic as always.

knows what? I looked at my mothers face and back at my father's not sure of what both were talking about.

-------------------------------------------------------

Later that evening, a knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts.

“Freya, get the door,” my mother called.

I opened it, and my breath caught in my throat. Standing before me was a boy with piercing blue eyes, milk-white skin, and a dimpled smile that made my heart skip a beat. His tousled hair added to his charm, and I felt an unfamiliar pull toward him.

“Welcome to our home, Mr. and Mrs. Whitmore,” my mother said, stepping in when she noticed my dazed state.

As the families exchanged pleasantries, I couldn’t stop sneaking glances at the boy—Jameson, I overheard his father say.

My wolf stirred, or perhaps it was the suppressed hunger within me. Either way, the attraction was undeniable.

“Show him around, Freya,” my mother said, snapping me out of my trance.

I nodded, leading Jameson through the house. I didn’t ask his name—I didn’t trust my voice not to betray my feelings.

We were nearing my room when raised voices from the dining room stopped us in our tracks.

“Jameson! Let’s go, now!” his father barked.

I watched as the Whitmore's stormed out, their earlier warmth replaced by cold hostility. My parents exchanged tense looks, but I knew better than to ask. Both were experts at keeping secrets and I wondered what happened.

[ Day 2: At School ]

The next day, my thoughts were clouded by the events at home. I wandered the halls in a daze, barely noticing the students around me.

I didn’t see Fianna until it was too late. I bumped into her, spilling her drink all over her pristine white blouse.

“Oh, God, I’m so sorry!” I said, panic rising in my chest.

“You’re sorry?” she snarled, her voice cutting through the air. “You did this on purpose, b*tch!” she snapped at me and I knew I was in trouble yet again. if there was anything I should abstain from, it was the F4 girls

She snatched the bottle from my hands before I could react.

“Please, give it back!” I begged, my voice trembling.

Fianna ignored me, opening the bottle and pouring its contents onto the floor. A collective gasp echoed through the hallway as the liquid spilled out—thick, crimson, unmistakably blood.

“What… What is this?” Fianna demanded, her eyes darting between me and the bottle. “Don’t tell me you’ve been drinking this.”

“It’s not…” I stammered, my voice faltering.

“Whose blood is it?” she yelled, slapping me across the face.

The corridor spun as tears blurred my vision. The F3 joined in, shoving and kicking me while cameras captured my humiliation.

“Let’s see her vampire teeth!” one of them jeered.

Desperation clawed at me. I looked up and saw him—Rhegar.

“Please,” I whispered, reaching out to him.

But his golden eyes were cold, and he turned away without a word.
