“Mr. Rufino. No, please.” She begged, but he winded the bat on his leg with a classy sound of breaking his kneecaps.

He fell unconscious, which she calculated as his death and the last word begging his life from her.

She was shivering badly and unable to breathe the left oxygen.

“Let the day one begin, doctor.” Samson smiled.

Her shivering, dainty figure looked back at the man who bore the pain of a metallic baseball bat on his knees.

The shock delivered by this man resurfaced her wounds, making her live the exact moment she had scared her entire life.

She looked at his face and saw Ethan’s face counting his last breath. The first thing her body reacted to was she went cold, and the only sign given to Samson was her warm tears scrolling down her cheeks, making the scene crisp from the memories. Samson crotched, thinking he scared the life out of her, but looking at her with no movements, he shook her.

“Hey.”

“Hey, doctor.” She reached a state of shock, where her body stopped reacting

Day 2Margarita rubbed her eyes when the sun peaked inside from her sheer curtains. She glanced at her phone and realized she had exactly forty-five minutes to get ready and reach her clinic, where someone would wait for her to take her to Samson’s farmhouse. Hastily she headed towards the bathroom to prepare herself, and for the first time, she felt an energy surge through her dead senses to accomplish something today. The previous day was harsh enough for her, but she handled it well with the presence of her mind.Once done with her morning routine, she prepared herself with a baby pink dress with a dive back design, enhancing her curves but protecting in the same way. She didn’t have the time to make a perfect bun and let her wavy hair strands compliment her face naturally. She remembered how she hated coloring her hair blond when she graduated back in Milan. It completely changed her look; now she knew how much she loved her light brown hair. She wore a white denim jacket to look

“Hello, Margarita.” She picked up her phone.“Yes, Kayla.”“I would like to inform you that our clinic is celebrating ten years of accomplishments, so everyone got the invitation to the party.”Margarita never liked to go to parties or socialize with people. She was punishing herself by leaving everything she loved the most. But getting a call from Kayla means it would be a professional gathering of interns and doctors rather than spoiled rich brats ready to get high.“Hello, Margarita.”“Yeah, I am here.”“I will send you the details in the mail.”“Sure.”“And how was your session? Any progress with that new patient?”“Nothing important. I will inform Doctor Phoebe regarding that.”They hung up the phone that pulled her back, at the moment, with Samson. He was not an easy-going person who would open up, and she was not experienced enough to crack this hard-core shell. She went to the kitchen with those thoughts to fill her belly with anything, but it turned out she forgot to fill the

Trust me; I like to torment myself.”She knew every syllable was coming from his mouth, defining her exactness. He was going through the same pain as hers. Antonio saw Samson’s car entering the gateway. He excitedly walked to check on them, thinking about where Margarita had taken him for therapy. His feet came to rest when he saw Samson come out of the car sucking his cigarette, leaving Margarita back in the car. Antonio quietly walked towards Margarita, whose eyes followed that heartless man leaving her behind.“Is everything alright, doctor?” Antonio questioned.Margarita nodded silently, thinking, is it okay to follow him this time, or should she leave? Antonio’s eyes landed on her skin where Samson’s rugged grip imprinted, leaving black and blue marks on her flawless skin.“Did he hurt you?” There was a concern in his voice, and she could see he was familiar with his wild behavior.“It’s nothing.” she decided to follow Samson, trying her heart out to convince him he did the right thing by talking at Silviya’s grave.“Miss. Blood of closed ones.”Everything she closed in the chest of her mind opened up like she was talking to a mirror responsible for everything. “You lost someone close?” She had to compose herself.“Yes,” he whispered, missing the part where he needed to mention he had killed them all.She picked up the water to regain her senses, rolling the pencil between her index and thumb. “What do you think, doctor? Margarita looked out at the moon, standing next to the fountain. The breeze played with her long curls, emphasizing the coldness. She was not expecting her dad to reveal the situation like this. She heard the footsteps approaching in her direction, and she was not willing to talk to anyone right now. She rushed towards the garden, thinking she could hide. “Margarita,” a voice brushed in her ears, and the goosebumps started to crawl out from her skin. She didn’t turn because she knew she would look weak and vulnerable in front of Samson. Margarita’s fingers tightened around the edge of her dress, her knuckles turning white. She could sense Samson’s presence behind her, the weight of his gaze, the unspoken words that hung in the air between them. But she remained committed, determined to protect herself from the pain that had once shattered her world. “I know... His presence might have been accepted by the Italian don but by the brother of Margarita Costello. The room was filled with a tense silence as Decker’s sharp gaze fell on Samson, his expression unreadable. Mateo stood by, observing the interaction between the two men.“Samson,” Decker’s voice was steady, his tone devoid of any warmth.“How are you now?”“I am... better,” Decker gestured toward a chair, indicating for Samson to sit. As they settled around a table, the atmosphere was thick with anticipation.“Mateo, could you please call everyone? Master’s cold eyes flickered with intense emotion. He was left paralyzed, and I couldn’t bear to see my son suffer like that.”“The pain of watching our son consumed my wife, and she chose to die by taking her life. I lost everything that day, and the pain consumed me because of you.” Master’s eyes didn’t flicker from Decker’s face.“I wanted revenge, and I wanted Decker to suffer as I had suffered.
