Chapter 5

HE DOESN'T WANT TO DIVORCE ME

Daisy sat in her car outside the local court, she had been crying for a long time,

She didn't actually know what to do, on one hand, she loved Steve so very much and knew she probably couldn't live without him while on the other hand, She couldn't put up with his behavior,

She took a deep breath and got out of the car, each step she took towards the entrance of the court made her heart ache,

Just when she got to the door, her phone began to ring, she stared at the screen her heart beating rapidly, Steve was calling,

She decided she wasn't going to answer the call and watched it ring, she knew she would be disappointed by what he wanted to say yet again, with a deep sign, she put the phone on silent mood and put it in her hand bag and then entered the court,

Inside there, she asked to see her family lawyer Mr.lewis but was told he had gone out,

She went back to the car and decided to wait for him there,

She didnt bother checking her phone for any missed calls or texts from Steve,

Has it was, he had already shown her where she stood in his life.

Daisy suddenly jumped up when she heard a bang on her window car, her eyes widened when she realized it was Steve.

"Open the door Daisy" he said, his face was void of emotions hence she couldn't tell if he was upset or not,

She quickly rolled down the car window

"I said open the door" he demanded, she nervously opened the door and Steve went over to the passager seat and got in, Suddenly, he pulled out a gun and pointed it to her stomach,

Daisy looked at him for a second surprised, Steve had a gun and he was pointing it at her!, that seemed surreal

"Now, drive the damn car" he ordered, she silently started driving her mind crowded with different thoughts,

'Who did she get married to?' She wondered, Steve instructed her to drive straight home and she did just that,

When they got to their house, he turned to her "You want to divorce me?" He asked with a scoof

"Yes" Daisy replied looking at him, Steve immediately burst out laughing

"You think its that easy?, I didnt marry you just so you could divorce me two weeks after, I haven't even started with you yet"

"I don't care" she replied and looked away

"I won't force you not to file for divorce but incase you didnt know, we both signed a prenap before we got married, if this marriage ever ended, then I would take 100% of your wealth, so, thanks in advance for making me a billionaire, I will take over your father's company once we are divorced and trust me, I will make sure both you and your father shed bloody tears because of what I will do", Daisy looked at him confused

"I did not sign any sort of contract with you" she said, whatever reason Steve had for lying to her right now, she wouldn't believe him unless she talked to her lawyer.

Steve got out of the car with a huge grin while she stared at him through the window, he turned to face her before he got to the door

"You can go to your Daddy and cry over this to him if you like or you can stay in this marriage you wanted" he opened the door and was about to enter when she called him, he turned around again

"Would you have shot me if I didnt agree to drive off?" She asked, has he watched towards her car, she felt anxious.

"Its not a real gun, am not a murderer like you people" he said and walked away, Daisy felt the urge to go after him and question him, she still had a lot of questions that needed answers only Steve could provide but she sat glued in the car,

When he had entered the house, she got her phone and called her lawyer and luckily, he answered the call

"Daisy" Lewis said in a pleasant voice

"I would like to see you, I came by your office  and was told you are not around" she said

"Yes, I had some issues to sort out, am available right now"

"Alright, I will come to the office" she hang up the call and drove off.

A while later, she had arrived in Lewis' office,

He welcomed her warmly as usual, "what is it Daisy, you look worked up" he said looking at her keenly, Lewis was not only her lawyer but a family friend as well, his late father had also been their family lawyer so they were pretty much close.

"I don't know, a lot is just happening lately but that aside, I would like to know if I signed any contracts before my marriage" she said, Lewis looked at her weirdly but still brought out some documents and gave it to her, she thanked him and headed to her car,

While there, she looked through all the papers but found nothing, she knew Steve had been lying to her but the way he had said it sounded like he wasnt bluffing,

She was about to head back to Lewis' office to talk about the divorce when she received a text on her phone,

It was from Steve, he had sent her a file, she nervously opened it and went through it as hot tears made their way to her face,

She quickly dried them off ensuring herself this wasn't the time to cry,

She forwarded the file to Lewis and asked him to check if it was valid, when he called her back a few minutes later and told her it was, she broke down and began to cry in her car,

Lewis walked over to her car a few minutes later,

"What was that all about, you really signed that?" He asked,

"I don't know Lewis, I really don't" she said in between sobs and watched him enter her car

"Daisy, what is really happening, if you won't tell me as your lawyer, then please tell me as your friend" he said with a worried face,

Daisy began to explain to him about what that file was all about, she didn't tell him that she wanted to file for divorce as she didnt know what to do for now,

"But your father gave you 50% shares of all his assets including the company, if you were to die or want to divorce your husband, it means he would be the owner of everything" 

"I know and I just don't understand how I signed that document Lewis" she let out a deep sign

"Do you mind we go somewhere quite and have a drink just to get you to relax, you look really bad" Lewis offered, Daisy was about to refuse but when she remembered she would have have to see Steve all lovey Dovey with his mistress, she agreed and so, they went to a bar,

They drank alcohol until it was late, while drank, Daisy couldn't stop talking about Steve or how much she loved him, she expressed that she was heart broken and Lewis comforted her.

11pm, she was way wasted than she could remember when Steve suddenly showed up at the bar,

Daisy robbed her eyes as if to make sure she was really seeing him,

"Lewis, is that Steve?" She asked pointing to the door, suddenly their eyes met and Steve began walking towards their table

"He is coming here, what should I do" even in her drank state, she still didn't want to disappoint him in any sort of way

"Calm down, I will handle him" Lewis who was less drank said squeezing her hand lightly,

Steve walked over to their table and immediately grabbed Lewis by his jacket making him stand up

"What the hell do you think you are doing with my wife?" He asked in a low harsh voice, his face indicated he was very Angry.
