Chapter 6

A SLY MISTRESS

"Steve!" Daisy called trying to stop the fight that was about to break out, she stood up trying to break them apart but her knees felt weak and hence, she was almost falling when Steve quickly let go of Lewis and held her

"Steve" she said this time in more of a whisper

"Look at you, drank this time of the night and with a man!"

"Why does that make you upset after everything you did today" she demanded as she broke down in tears, Steve let out a curse and carried her in his arms,

"This should be the last time I ever see you with my wife" he warned Lewis before he walked out with Daisy in his arms, 

"Put me down!, I wanna drink some more" She said as she tried to get off his arms but he held her tightly until they reached his car,

His driver opened the car door for him while he entered with Daisy,

"Why are you doing this?" Daisy asked , she held his face in both her palms,

"Why Steve, please tell me why?" She asked this time, she had began to cry again,

"You are drank" he said pushing off her hands from his face,

"Yes am drank but you know what, I still feel this heart break and its eating me up, I love you Steven, I really do and I don't want to see you with that other woman, I don't want her to stay in our house, please make her leave" Steve did not respond to her but instead told his driver to take them home,

Daisy continued to cry until she had fallen asleep.

The next time she woke up, she found herself laying in bed, she immediately sat up her head spinning,

She looked around and found herself alone in one of the spare bedrooms,

She cursed herself as she looked at the wall clock, it was already past ten and today was Monday, she was supposed to report for work today,

The door to her room suddenly opened and Lizzy walked in with clenches,

"What are you doing here?" Daisy asked, Lizzy walked in and stood just before her bed,

"You stink of alcohol" She said with a disgusted face

"Get out of my room!"

"Or what?," Lizzy challenged, Daisy was feeling weak and knew there was little she could do so she decided not to pay any attention to her,

"Just leave this room" she said with a sign,

"Look at you, you know, I feel sorry for you, drinking yourself to sleep so you wouldn't have to hear your husband make love to me, let me give you some advice, leave This house and save your self from all this disrespect, Steve doesn't want you, it is me he wants and loves", Daisy would have charged at her but because she felt so weak that she knew she could barely stand, she turned the other way so she couldn't see the woman's face,

"You are scared of me ain't you?" Lizzy said with a laugh

"Just leave my room" Daisy said yet again

"Yes, am going back to your room to wait for your husband" she let out another laugh and walked out of the room,

Daisy felt tears in her eyes and blinked them away, no, she wasn't going to cry and give that woman the satisfaction of hurting her, she had to be strong..

In the late evening, Daisy was feeling a lot better, she got out of bed after sleeping the whole day, she was feeling very hungry and tired, she went to take a long shower and then went to the kitchen to prepare something she could eat,

She found Lizzy already In the kitchen cooking,

She didnt bother say anything to her and started making a sandwich, 

"The princess is finally awake" Lizzy started,

"Now i know why Steve doesn't want you, all you do is lazy around in bed, you know if we didn't have the same man, I would have given you some sensible advice on how to treat a man"

"And i would have given you some advice on how to find a man that isn't married, you must be really unattractive you know, no sane man wants you and you had to go after a married man, I feel sorry for you, it must be horrible to always be the second best", Lizzy throw away the clenches she was using to support herself and walked to Daisy

"Steve never loved you, I am the first woman he thinks about not you, get that into your head" Lizzy snapped, Daisy began to laugh as she looked Lizzy over

"Then tell me, what's the need for you to pretend not to be able to walk in front of him if he loves you?, you have to lie to be close to him" she said, That seemed to anger Lizzy

She attempted to slap Daisy but the later held her hand mid-air

"Don't ever try that nonsense with me, am not the type of woman you can walk over" she said and pushed her off causing her to fall on the floor,

Just then, she heard Steve's angry voice "what do you think you are doing?" He asked, Lizzy began to cry and Steve rushed over to her

"She pushed me, I was only trying to cook for you" she cried,

Daisy watched as Steve helped her up,

"She was walking just perfectly before you walked in, why are you bothering yourself to help her?" She said, Steve looked at her angrily

"You think I didnt see you push her off?" He asked, Daisy sat down and began to eat without paying much attention to them,

Steve walked out holding Lizzy's hand, she suddenly pushed her food away, she had lost her appetite,

She went back to what was now her room and laid in bed,

A while later, Steve walked in without bothering to knock

"You had me and Lizzy attacked, I didnt do anything about that but let me warn you for the last time, if you ever try to do anything to her again, I won't be so nice to you" Daisy wasn't in the mood to listen to him talking about Lizzy,

"If you are done, you can leave this room and go back to her" she said

"This is my house!"

"Fine, then am leaving" she said and went to the wardrobe where he had put her clothes, she began to pack everything, She had a lot of houses and could leave anytime she wanted, he knew this too.

"I don't want to have to lock you in this room, don't push my buttons and make me do worse", Daisy turned and stood toe to toe with him

"Why?, because you don't want me to leave?, can you please tell me why?, yesterday, I wanted a divorce, I was ready to walk out of your life because I can't stay where am not needed, but you  had to bring up that stupid contract, meaning you had all this planned out, you married me even though you didnt love me and made sure I wouldn't leave you when I wanted to, why go through all that process huh?" She demanded, Steve looked like he had something to say but when he opened his mouth, not a word came from him making Daisy feel more frustrated

"How did you even know I was at the court yesterday or that I had gone to that bar with Lewis?, you had me followed right, and yet you still think I had you and your mistress Attacked!, Steve make up your mind, if you don't want me then let me go"

"I don't want you but I won't let you go, I am just getting started Darling, by the time I will be done with you, you will wish you never met me", he then walked out of the room and locked the door from outside,

Daisy didnt even bother to call him back and demand him to open the door for her, she had not even been prepared to leave even though she was packing her staff, she was only trying to see what he would do,

It appeared to her that Steve didnt want her to leave but what she still couldn't understand was why he was treating her this bad, was it to hurt her?, but what did she do that would make him what to hurt her that much?.

She put her clothes away and went back to bed, she didn't know what to do with him now.

She got her phone and decided to call her father, she missed him so much and wished she had listened to him when he had warned her not to marry a man she barely knew, only if she had listened maybe she wouldn't have been in this situation right now.

"Daisy!" Her father said when he answered the call

"Dad, did you get Steve attacked?" She asked going straight to the point

"What are you saying Daisy, you know I don't like that man but that doesn't mean I would harm him in any way, I care about your happiness and I know he makes you happy, how can you think I am capable of doing any harm to anyone especially him?", Daisy could hear the hurt in her father's voice and felt horrible,

She shouldn't have suspected him but its not like she had any option, only her father knew where Steve had been that night, it was valid for her to think he was the one behind everything

"Am sorry Dad, I know you can not hurt anyone, I am just confused right now" she said with a deep sign

"Its fine honey, I will be coming to see you tomorrow morning"

"No, please don't" she quickly said, she didnt want him to come here and met Lizzy,

"Why?" He asked, she quickly thought of an excuse

"I will be at work tomorrow, I was supposed to resume today after my wedding live but I will start tomorrow" she explained

"Fine then, pass through after work"

"I will, goodnight, I love you"

"I love you too princess" the line went dead, Daisy took a deep sign and put the phone away, she could hear the door being unlocked from outside and wondered what Steven wanted this time around...
