A pile of coffee brown and white was sent flying onto the Adonis from earlier, with some splashing onto Jade and drenching her uniform brown. Her once curly hair that Sylvie had spent quite a while trying to style was all dull and flat with all the curls being straightened out.
All the other men in black had pulled out their guns and they were pointed at Jade and Sylvie who was shaking like a leaf on a tree in the autumn wind.
“Oh my goodness, I am so sorry sir.” Said Jade in heartfelt voice as she reached for some napkins to wipe off the mess from the customer.
“Oh my God, what have I done? This will not look good on my employee performance report!” thought Jade as she nervously dabbed away at Dominic’s suit coat and shirt.
Dominic looked at the petite lady in front of him as she nervously cleaned his shirt and coat for him. He was puzzled. Most women would be fawning over him, well, the brave ones while others would be running away from him like he was the plague. Yet this one different specimen was nervous in front of him and not because of his looks or his power.
“Interesting.” He thought as he raised his hands. Gently, he took Jade’s hands off of his and looked at her.
“It’s alright, it’s alright.” He said in his deep timbre that resounded throughout the room but Jade was too busy worrying about her report to notice.
‘If I lose this job, living will be hard for a while. The money I have saved up right now is all for the rent and tuition. I can’t afford to have any messes!’ thought Jade as she desperately tried to rub off the coffee stains with reddened eyes.
Dominic looked at her and felt amused. She wasn’t flustered like other girls and this had caught his eye.
‘Such a rarity! All the girls I have ever met all either clung to me or ran away. She seems to be different. I’ve been feeling bored of late. Let me entertain myself a little bit.’ He thought with a grin. Once his subordinates saw it, they could not help but tremble and shudder as though they knew the fate of any one who catches the of their boss.
“Stop what you are doing. It’s not helping at all.” Yelled Neil, his right hand man, startling the two girls. He had a gun pointed at Sylvie and hers was the loudest scream in the whole room.
“What is your problem? You could have just said it. No need to shout so loud!” she yelled as she smacked him on the back.
Sylvie Newman came from a mysterious background. Jade didn’t even know her parents and all she knew of her was that she had four brothers hence the habit of smacking people whenever she was angry or emotional.
All the men looked at their commander, the second strongest in the whole group who was being smacked by a woman who was half his size and they couldn’t but look at the two women who seemed to have gotten the attention of their two leaders.

If anyone entered the Sweet De La Sweet right now, they would find a rather peculiar situation going on.
The café had been re-organized and two pairs of chairs were at the center of the main floor while Dominic’s men were surrounding the two pairs. Sylvie was quiet while Jade seemed as though she had lost her soul.
“How are you going to compensate me for my clothes?” Dominic asked in the resounding silence making Jade flinch.
She looked up from her spot and gave him a good look. With his shaggy ash gray hair, one wouldn’t take him seriously. But with his sharp sea foam colored eyes, one immediately changes their opinion of him. Even as he was seated, one could tell of his great height as he still towered over Jade.
“What? Are you now enchanted by my good looks? Is that how you plan on repaying me?” he asked with a furrow in his brow. The temperature around him seemed to drop and only Sylvie was shivering from the cold making Neil raise a brow.
“How do you wish to be repaid?” asked Jade after she got out of her stupor. She stared at Dominic like he was just another random guy, further triggering his interest.
“Well, for starters, you have to send my clothes to the dry cleaners.” said Dominic as he crossed his long legs that were wrapped in what looked like custom made pants.
‘That is from the latest collection of Louis. He must be very wealthy to be owning such a piece.’ Thought Sylvie as she scrutinized Dominic. She looked at his hair and his face, she looked at his shirt and his suit, she looked at his sitting posture and she looked at everything he had to offer.
‘Yup, definitely a rich guy.’ She thought after her examination was done. Her gaze was so burning that Dominic felt uncomfortable with it. He felt as though daggers were being shot at him but he decided to ignore it as he wanted to see how Jade would react to his demands.
Neil on the other hand was beside himself wondering why he was feeling jealous. He felt very comfortable sitting next to Sylvie but he was enraged when she openly started checking Dominic out.
‘That should be us.’ Said a voice form his sub conscious and he was startled. Even though it was absurd, Neil had always trusted that little voice and it was never wrong.
“Maybe it’s his clothes?” He thought and he found it ridiculous.
“You also owe me a cup of coffee.” Dominic said out of the blue.
“Of course, you will be paid in full. If that is all, then let me get you a change of clothes and that coffee so that you can be on your way.” Answered Jade as she tried to wash her hands from dealing with Dominic. Her gut was telling her that he was dangerous and she planned to stay a million miles away from him.
‘Better hurry and chase him away.’ She thought as she got up to find him something to wear and his coffee.
Her attitude angered Dominic to some extent and he felt like bullying her a bit.
“Stop right there! I am not yet done.” He shouted as Jade walked away. She immediately stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him.
“Also, you owe me a new suit.” He said proudly as folded his arms to his chest and he smirked. Jade felt irritated and angry. Why would he ask for a new suit? Even she had spilled coffee on him, the stain wasn’t that bad and the suit could still be used.
“But the suit can still be used and I really can’t afford its price tag.” She answered as she looked him straight in the eye.
All the guards and Neil were watching the two like a daytime drama as they couldn’t understand why Dominic was making things hard for Jade. Usually, he would just ignore the incident as long as the person didn’t cling onto him.
‘This is suspicious.’ Thought Neil. Dominic had never expressed his interest with the opposite sex so Neil thought that he had finally found someone who had tickled his fancy. What he wasn’t sure of was whether or not that was the way to treat someone you are interested in
“Then that is your problem. All I want is my compensation. If you can’t afford it, go on a date with me and I will write it all off.” He said proudly as though he was sure that she would say yes.
Sylvie was shocked at the roundabout way he was asking her Jade out. She found it strange. Wouldn’t it be easier to just ask her without having to push her into a corner?
Jade on the other hand felt frustrated. This wasn’t the first time something of this nature had happened so she decided to end anything before it even started. Her next answer shocked Dominic silly.
“No.” The stern response seemed to echo in the café that had been closed and Dominic felt it cut through his ego. Jade looked serious and she wasn’t star struck like he was expecting. She turned and went to the kitchen with Sylvie hot on her tail. “That annoying, pompous, feather brain! A date? A date? Over my dead body!” grumbled Jade as soon as she got into the kitchen. She got a cup and started with the coffee preparations. Sylvie looked on and smiled as she watched Jade grumbled her way through a cup of coffee. She was cursing her way through the walk as well and Sylvie being the being that she was, heard every single word.Being you ask? Well, that’s for another day.Worried that Jade would pour a hot cup all over Dominic, she rushed back out and ran into Neil, literally. “What is going on here?” Neil asked as he rushed into the room with a flushed face. His face was glowing and his clothes were a mess. A certain smell lingered on his body making Jade look at him with narrowed eyes. “Pay them off and let’s leave.” Thundered Dominic as he led the march outside. His men followed pitifully as they sent mental messages for Neil to save them later, leaving him puzzled. He turned to Jade who seemed to be reading him and felt scared under her gaze.‘Wait, why would a measly human evoke this feeling?’ he asked himself as he reached for a check book. “Um, miss Barista, what is the price?” he asked as he placed the book down.Wanting to see how far he would go after disrupting her afternoon, Jade spoke of an astronomical price and Neil was seething. Clearly, it wasn’t all that expensive yet she had hiked the price! “You had better be speaking the truth, otherwise this might be the end for you.” Neil whispered dangerously low close to her ear while clutching
“What a weird day this has been!” Jade said as she walked home. She had finished up cleaning and locked up while Sylvie, who had a date, had left earlier than her.‘Lucky.’ Jade had thought. At twenty, Jade had never dated or fallen in love and this was something that she was craving for. It’s just that love can’t be forced.“How nice it would be to love and be loved! Sigh, I better hurry home.” She said as she scurried along. Jade came to a standstill and felt her blood run cold.‘A burglar? A kidnapper? Forget being calm and acting normal, I’m out of here!’Jade took off and she ran! She ran and never looked back.
