Chapter 55:  Trust

Charlotte’s pov

He must really care about his father, and I can see it.

It makes me think of my own father, that man uprooted his entire life for me.

“You should tell him” I said, and Logan looked at me confused.

“Tell him what? About his Aura? Then I will have to tell him how I found out. We agreed that we wouldn’t tell anyone” he said, and I shook my head.

“He is your father, if you trust him then so do I… Tell him the truth about everything” I said and looked at Alexa.

“Yes, it would be good to have someone who knows the truth” Alexa said and looked at me.

We have spent so much time of our lives running and hiding, not just that but we also had to lie to the people around us.

That’s the most painful part, knowing that the people around you don’t know the real you.

“I can’t do that, it’s your secret to keep and I will not risk putting you in danger” he said, and I smiled.

“We never stayed in one place for long, all that time when we were running away. Do you know why?” I asked him and he nodded.

“You didn’t want to risk being found out, so you didn’t stay in one for too long” he answered, and I shook my head.

“We would feel guilty, we would build relationship with the people around us. We knew everything about them, but they didn’t know anything about us” I said and looked at Alexa.

“We would feel guilt, plus also the fact that just being around us endangers them and they have no idea” Alexa added.

“So, tell him, whatever happens after that happens. Plus, your father should know that someone has it out for him” I said, and he looked at us.

“Are you sure?” he asked us both and we nodded.

He is a Alpha King and we both know that whatever decision he makes will be in the best interest of his people.

“Should we do it now?” Alexa asked and I just shrugged.

“I don’t see why not, are you ready?” I asked Logan who nodded.

He seemed nervous, I get why he would be nervous and in so many ways I am too.

We came to this man’s house and the moment we entered all we did was lie to him.

We paid his kindness with nothing but lies and deception.

Hell, I bet he has never lied to his father until now.

So we probably are even a terrible influence to Logan as well.

We walked to his father’s office and the man was sitting on his chair looking at some files.

Honestly, he seemed like he would collapse any second, that is why I think he should be told.

If he is aware of what is happening to him maybe he will have better odds of fighting against it.

“Son and you two” he looked up, hell even his senses are not working as they should.

But nature he should have caught our scent before we even stepped inside his office.

He is almost human at this point;

something needs to be done before whoever is doing this challenges him.

“Father there is something that I need to tell” Logan started, and the old man gestured that we all sit down.

“You seem serious, is everything okay?” he asked looking at us as if he was worried that something is happening with the both of us.

“It’s actually about you sir, you are the one who is not okay” I said, and he looked at me confused.

“What do you mean that I am not okay?” he asked.

“Father something is wrong with your Alpha aura, someone has been suppressing it” Logan said, and the old man frowned.

“Your wolf, when was the last time you felt or even spoken to your wolf?” I asked him and he looked at me.

“Well, it’s been some time, but after my mate died my wolf doesn’t say much. He just stays there and does nothing” he answered and then looked at me.

“You sure know a lot for a human, and how do you know that something is wrong with my aura? What makes you think that?” he asked looking at us.

“I sensed it sir, I sensed that something was wrong with your aura” Alexa said, and the Alpha King looked at his son.

“You see father I lied about these two, they are not human. Charlotte is a witch and Alexa is a demon” Logan said, and his father looked at both of us.

“Wait why? Why would you lie about something like that? And did you just demon? Aren’t they a myth?” he asked.

“I assure you sir I am as real as everyone in this room” Alexa said with a wink.

“What I don’t understand what you are saying, why would you lie about this?” he asked us.

I told him everything, from what happened when I was back in my coven.

I told him about the night that changed everything for me and how I have been on the run since then.

“That explains why it took forever for my son to find you and I really did remember him telling me that you were witch” he said and then looked at his son.

“She is your mate which means my daughter in law and maybe somewhere in the future the Queen Luna. Of course, you can stay, and we will protect you” he said with a smile.

“What about me then?” Alexa asked and the old man chuckled a bit.

“You can stay as well; can you please explain about the aura thing” he said, and I nodded, and we started explaining everything to him.

Even the fact that we have even confirmed it using a strand of his hair.

“I mean I do feel weaker than normal, I thought it was growing old and also the stress of everything that has been happening” he said, and I shook my head.

“I think that someone took advantage of this, but I have a plan” I said, and he looked at me.

“What kind of plan? Will it work?” he asked, and I looked at Alexa.

“All our plans work, now all you have to do is just sit and watch. We will find whoever did this and also help you regain your power” Alexa said.

“What is the plan exactly because even I don’t know it” Logan said.

“So, it simple, I will help you in secret regain your wolf and aura” I said, and he then nodded.

“But we need to mask your aura, that way whoever is doing this to you doesn’t know that you are getting it back” Alexa added.

“That way they can challenge him thinking that they would win since he is weakened” Logan added as well, and I nodded.

“We will be able to hit two birds with one stone.

Get your aura back, and then also find the person who did this to you” I said.

“Ohhh there is another bird this stone will hit; you will then regain the faith and hope of your people.

If you kick some ass than anyone else who was getting ideas will see that you are not someone they should mess with” Alexa said with a cheerful smile.

“I am in, and don’t worry your secret is safe with me. I am just glad that you trusted me enough to tell me son” he said to Logan with a smile.

“I trust you with my life father, it was hard keeping it a secret from you” Logan responded.

His eyes then landed on me, “Thank you, you helped me take off a load off my shoulders” he said.

“Don’t thank me, you are making me feel like a stranger. I am your mate; I should protect and look out for you right?” I asked and he smiled.

“That you should, we will leave you two to get started with cleansing his aura” he said as he and Alexa got up and left the room.

I prepared everything and the candles, “my son seems really happy with you, thank you so much for what you are doing for him” his father said.

“You are worried aren’t you? That he could be caught up in my mess?” I asked him and he nodded.

“But we are supernatural beings, we are in danger the moment we are born.

My wife had no enemies, but she was killed and that too for no reason.

I think fighting and dying to protect what you love is also noble” he said.

I looked at him and he chuckled, “and yes I am little worried he will get caught up in this,

but I do hope that you two will protect each other” he said, and I nodded.

He sat down and I started cleansing his aura, it will take about 3 days to completely restore his aura to the way it was.

This means somehow there has to be an explanation for my disappearing every now and then.

Will Logan and Alexa be able to handle everything?

I should put my trust in them, one of my sister and best friend while the other is my mate.

If I can’t trust those two who else can I trust?
