She was amazed at his concern and studied him for a moment, her eyes searching his face for sincerity.

But Calliope only smiled. "You're too kind. I couldn't possibly accept such an offer. I don't deserve it. I'm sorry, Mr. Dmitriev."

Mikhail couldn't force her. After all, he was only a stranger. But somehow, he hated that truth.

"Alright, fine," he uttered in resignation, turning his back on her.

Annoyance churned within him as he walked back to his car. Who was she to deny his help? She was nothing. He grumpily slammed the car door shut as he settled inside. But when he started the engine, he caught a glimpse of the same man he saw that night. That good-for-nothing ruffian, Victor, was glaring at Calliope, who seemed uncomfortable and scared.

"Cassiopeia!" Victor called out, using her other name. "You are secretly meeting with another man?! Am I not enough to satisfy your needs?!"
