CATHERINE.

Tyler’s warmth suddenly became so cold that I felt my body shiver and my teeth chatter. My arms voluntarily wrapped around me as I snuggled toward him, but instead of his warmth, my head bumped into something hard.

Tyler’s body was hard and soft, but at the same time really comfortable. This one was just so hard that I felt a bruise coming out of my forehead based on how hard I hit the surface.

With my eyes still closed, I raised my hand and touched the surface that I bumped my head into.

Solid. Hard with edges. Like a big stone.

My eyes snapped open, and they became rounder as the view in front of me became clearer.

I was lying sideways, so everything was sideways too, but I could see trees in front of me and leaves and twigs just beside me, or the one I was actually lying in.

Why was I in the forest? Did we fall asleep here after the full moon run? My hand went to my back as I tried to feel the ground behind me, hoping Tyler was there.

“You are alone here with me,
