Chapter 3-Betrayal

Even though her body still hurts, especially between her thighs, Shaina still takes big steps when walking. She went straight to their room and immediately closed the door after entering. Luckily, it wasn’t locked. In the first place, she had intended to block the bottom of the door earlier because she hadn’t brought the key card. Leaning against the closed door, she held one hand over her chest while taking a deep breath. With her appearance, anyone would think she was chased by a ghost.

She stayed in that position for a few more minutes before checking herself. Staring at the object in her hand, her face turned red due to embarrassment. Fortunately, no one had seen her earlier. Seriously, she was able to walk down the hallway with no underwear on. Goodness! Because she was in such a hurry earlier and was afraid that the man would catch her, she was unable to put on her panties.

Afterwards, Shaina decided to go into the bathroom that was also in the room and take a shower to clean herself. She also didn’t take long in the shower because she felt tired. Fortunately, her friend was still asleep. Laying down next to Daisy, she immediately fell asleep. The next day, Daisy was the first to wake up from a loud knock at the door. 

“Who is this bothering my sleep?” he complained while rubbing his eyes.

Daisy was about to stand up when he noticed the person next to him. His sleepy spirit finally woke up when he recognized his friend. Later on, he gradually remembered what he and his friend had done. But he didn’t remember exactly how they got to this room. When he heard the knock again, he woke Shaina up.

“Hmmm…” Shaina mumbled sleepily and pulled the blanket to cover her face.

Daisy shook her head at his friend’s response. He quickly got off the bed and maybe it’s the service crew who was knocking. The fee is expensive there and he might be the one to pay for the bills for God’ sake. Opening the door, his eyes widened in surprise when he saw who is the person waiting outside.

“Where is my granddaughter and what did you do to her?” Cristy angrily asked her granddaughter’s gay friend. 

Daisy wanted to raise an eyebrow at the old woman’s accusing question. But he had a lot of respect for her, so he held back. When he saw Lovely, he no longer wondered why the old woman was exaggerating.

Even if she suffered from headache, Shaina opened her eyes because of the noise interrupted her sleep. She didn’t want to get up but the voice spoke again. 

“Stand up there you lady, right now!”

Shaina jumped up when she recognized her grandmother’s voice. Surprise was registered on her face when she saw the old woman. But feeling disgusted on Lovely’s presence.

“I thought you were different from your father! You’re just going to make a scandal with that gay!” Cristy furiously picked up the panties lying on the chair and threw at her granddaughter.

Surprised, Daisy approached his friend. He was nervous when he realized that his friend was not wearing any underwear. 

“Be-besh, did I do something to you last night?” he whispered to his friend. 

“No, of course not. But, I’ll be honest with you.”

He listen carefully. “Okay, spill it out.”

“B-besh, I’m not a virgin anymore!” Shaina answered in a soft and low tone, and made sure the two couldn’t hear.

Daisy’s mouth opened, but was suddenly closed when her friend’s eyes glared at him. However, his gaze indicated that she was going to explain to him later. 

“Gosh, why did you sleep with that gay, Shaina? What will the people know you say about it?”

Shaina gave Lovely an evil look. The latter acted as if she was too concerned about her or her feminity. And for sure, Lovely was there to witness the humiliation against her. On the other hand, Daisy rolled his eyes in annoyance. Also, discomfort hovered the entire room and if the old woman wasn’t there, he would have become a complete arrogant to Lovely.

“What are you waiting for? Get dress and follow us!” Cristy yelled at her again and turned away fiercely. 

Without a word, Shaina put on the panties she had washed last night after taking a shower. She did not know how the old woman knew that they were there to spend the night. She and Daisy left the room after getting dressed. They have already paid and she was sure that the old woman arranged their check out.

Before completely walking away, Shaina glanced at the room next door. It was quiet and it looked like the tenant last night had already left. 

“Why?” Daisy commented to her friend who was stunned.

Shaina quickly shook her head and came closer to her grandmother  who was waiting in front of the elevator. They were quiet until they got down to the ground floor. She was clinging to her friend’s arm when a man in a black tuxedo got in their way. 

“What’s wrong?” Cristy asked the man.

“I’m sorry, madam, Mr. Villanova ordered the names of those coming out of this building to be taken.

The aura on Cristy’s face softened when she recognized who is the man was referring to. It looks like it’s resulting some good for her grandchild to be stranded in this place. She even showed the card to the man to identify her. At this age, she is also known as a chairman of the company she owns. And Mr. Villanova is one of the most powerful people in the business world. Just like her, many wanted to meet the man personally. But unluckily, the latter was elusive and did not speak to anyone easily.

“Grandma, is that man referring to is the owner of this hotel?” Lovely asked her grandmother. When the old man nodded she was ‘wow’.

Shaina just listened to the conversation between the two. Her grandmother doesn’t want to pay attention to her and Daisy has separated from her. The old woman forbade him to come near her while the scandal she allegedly committed has not yet been resolved. After arriving at the mansion, Shaina was not surprised when she found her unfaithful boyfriend there.

“Rex, I’m really sorry for what my cousin did. I don’t know what she ate and was able to trade you for a gay. What’s worse is that he squandered the money you saved for your wedding.” Lovely looked sad.

Shaina felt the blood rush to her head due to anger. She rushed to her cousin and tweaked her hair. 

“You bitch, don’t turn everything upside down!” 

“Ahhhh, ouch! Grandma, help me!” Lovely looked defeated and screamed while stopping her cousin’s hand from pulling her hair.

“What the hell, Shaina! Don’t hurt your cousin!” 

Shaina ignore the old woman’s hand from striking her arm. She wanted to pour out all her anger on her cousin today that she didn’t do yesterday. She didn’t want to let go of her hair. But someone squeezed her wrist. It even shook her so that she fell down and hit her back on the sofa. Pain flashed in her eyes when she saw that Rex had done it.

“Won’t you stop bringing shame to this family, Shaina? You should thank your cousin because she begged Rex to let me pick you up at the hotel!”

Shaina was almost deafened by the strength of her grandmother’s voice. She burst into tears of resentment and did not even ask an explanation before being judged. Well, this is how her grandmother is. Since her father is worthless, so in her eyes, she should be treated the same way. Her cousins are the only ones she likes and she is like a stain on their family. The old woman considered her father a headache to her. In addition to that, her mother was also allegedly picked up from the mud by her son.

“Mama, what did you do to my daughter?” 

Shaina began to cry when she recognized her father’s voice. It looks like he came from somewhere with some random girls again. Even so, her father loves her somehow. He doesn’t want her to leave the mansion so that her grandmother will like her, too. Turns out, she was just expecting the clouds to kiss the ground.

“What the hell? And it’s your fault that your daughter is acting like that! She is just exactly like you, both wasting their life. I have been happy knowing she’s in a relationship with Rex. But she only ruined a bright future for her! What’s even more shameful is that he used that money—”

“It’s not my fault that our relationship broke!” Shaina interrupted the old woman’s litany, “It’s that woman’s fault why I did what I shouldn’t have done!” 

Lovely released her hooked hand on Rex’s arm when their grandmother’s gaze suddenly turned to her. She got nervous and maybe the woman would believe it. What she wanted was to convince her grandmother that Shaina was the first to cheat on Rex. She didn’t want the old woman to get angry with Rex and then she come out as a thief.

“It’s because of that girl that I thought of wasting the money that was meant for our wedding! They’re cheating on me, grandma! I caught them yesterday in bed!” Her eyes were blur from tears.

“Is what my daughter is saying true, Lovely?” Gabriel angrily asked his niece.

Shaina clenched her fists and wanted to punch her cousin. And Rex looks even gayer than Daisy right now, that hiding in Lovely's shadow and pretending to be a victim like her cousin.

Cristy grabbed her forehead and suddenly got a headache.

Gabriel quickly approached his mother and helped her sit on the sofa. “Shaina, it’s okay. Go to your room first and it’s not good for your grandmother to get so angry.” 

Shaina was also worried about her grandmother’s health and felt sorry for her. But before she turned her back, Lovely’s parents and her sister arrived. They seem to be from the church.

“What did you do and Mama is like this?” Troy said angrily to his brother and quickly wiped his mother’s sweaty forehead. 

“Daddy!” Crying, Lovely approached her father and hugged him.

Confused, Troy looked at his niece and daughter who were both in tears. Disgruntled, Shaina looked away from her uncle. The only person who considered her a true family member seems to have a different view of her now. Her uncle is kind but his wife is greedy and that’s where her cousins maybe inherit.

“Let’s talk about this carefully, whatever trouble is going on,” Troy said calmly after giving his mother some medicine. 

Shaina didn’t explain anymore because she know he wouldn’t believe her either. She has no evidence as proof. And about her? She is in the act for allegedly betraying Rex. And now, everyone is ashamed of her for being with a gay. Her father is also quiet and seems to believe in her cousin as well.

Dissapointed, Troy stared at his niece when he heard everything from his daughter. 

“My family will also be ashamed if the news spreads that I was exchanged for a gay.” 

If the stare was poisonous, Shaina was sure that Rex’s mouth was already foaming. It seems that it is also infected with the rotten personality of her cousin. Everyone sympathizes with the young man’s feelings and she turns out to be a fraud.

“No one else should know!” The old woman said finally. 

Lovely couldn’t help but stare at the woman. Instead of being happy, Shaina was secretly embarrassed. She was no longer surprised by her grandmother’s decision. The family’s reputation is more important here than her feelings.

Rex looked confused at the old woman but was unable to speak.

“I apologize for what my granddaughter did to you. I know she also contributed somehow to your savings that she spent. I will pay for that and increase your share in my company, in exchange for your silence.”

Rex was insulted and it was as if the old woman was paying for the dignity of his manhood. But on the one hand, what he wants to happen is in his favor. Yes, he was the first one to cheat. And it’s better for him not to be caught that he is also having an affair with her other granddaughter.

Shaina frowned as she stared at Rex. She was a fool and she loved someone like this. She did not see his true motive in having a relationship with him. Yes, his family is also rich but like her, his own family also looks down on him. Rex wants to prove something in the business field and doesn’t lean on his family. He became a shareholder in her grandmother’s company because of her.

“I will also be ashamed if this news comes out.” Rex seemed to have no other choice. 

“Why not just send Shaina to another country? Let’s just say that there is no love between her and Rex because of their long distance relationship. Then there will be no issues afterwards,” Angeline suggested.

Everyone looked at her. Shaina even saw her grandmother’s smile and was amazed at the intelligence of her other cousin, Angeline. She closed her eyes tightly and increased her anger towards her cousins. They will really find a way to get her out of the mansion and so that she can distant herself from their grandmother.

“What my daughter thought was a good idea. One more thing is that what happened to you with that gay might pay off and—” Troy couldn’t continue what else he wanted to say when Shaina interrupted.

“You all should be mad at me but don’t involve my friend in this! He didn’t do anything bad to me and even if he’s gay, he’s not a coward and exploitative!” Shaina felt that she suddenly had a heart attack and was overcome with anger. Se shot Rex an insulting look and she knew he was hit by her last words. 

“Shaina, don’t raise your voice in front of your grandmother,” Gabriel scolded his daughter.

Shaina stood up angrily and spoke firmly. “I’m willing to leave but remember,” she said and looked at Rex. “You will regret what you did to me!” 

Rex quickly averted his eyes from Shaina’s sharp gaze on him. A part of his heart was saddened by the knowledge that he would not see her again for the next few days.
