CHAPTER FIFTY - PAST BITE

I was all too aware of the stares boring into my back as I followed Dwight out of the common room and down the hallway that led to his room. Dwight was right, they ‘had’ attracted quite a crowd and I hated the way they all ogled as though it was some cheap soap opera.

Every step I took away from Asha felt like a physical punch to the gut, and all I wanted was to run back after truly believing I’d never get to see him again. But I soldiered on, knowing that this would be the only way to get Dwight to give in and let me go. I just couldn’t figure out what he wanted to talk to me about.

He opened the door and stepped aside, letting me walk in first and I ignored the way the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end as I passed him. He closed the door behind me and cleared his throat but didn’t say anything.

Looking around, I hadn’t ever been in Dwights room but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary and some things were rather questionable.
