Staring at the door, I absently rubbed at the hurt in my chest, my brows furrowed.

Was I making the right decision?

Maybe I was being silly, or maybe I was just overreacting, but Asha’s reaction could only mean that it was true, right? He had killed his mate and didn’t want me to know. What had caused him to kill her? Was it in a fit of rage? Was she from an enemy pack? What? What could have driven Asha to kill his mate?

The Asha I knew didn’t seem capable of something that horrible. But I knew about his packs reputation in killing entire rogue packs that dared to oppose them, the Asha name was one that many wolves feared. The stories I’d heard had told how his pack never left a single survivor, and most of the wolves were unrecognizable. He may have been capable of the violence, but I couldn’t imagine him willingly murdering his own mate, especially because I’d already experienced what it was like to be cared for by him. He’d never hurt me, never gave me any impression that he

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO - HAUNTS OF THE PAST

ASHAFollowing Dwight back to his office had I wishing I could tear into the other Alpha’s exposed neck.I hated leaving Pixie with unanswered questions. I knew exactly what happened when she was left to draw her own conclusions, and I knew it would only hurt us both more than it needed to. I wanted to go back to her, to pull her in close and let her know that I was going to explain everything to her if she would just give me a little more time. I ‘wanted’ to share my past with her, but with the amount of chaos whirling around us in this fucking pack house, I couldn’t find it in myself to spare it a single thought.Dwight shouldered open the door to his office and walked to his desk, sitting down behind the mahogany. I was more than surprised that he had actually been given such convenience in a pack that wasn’t even his own, he was supposed to be a mere guest here yet he had his own office and I was sure he also had a nation- wide bedroom. Bu the way he acted I was sure the Alpha Sil

CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE - HIDDEN GAINPIXIEI could do nothing to hide the shock from my face.Asha watched me closely, and I barely noticed when Jared and WormWhick tactfully made themselves scarce, leaving me and Asha standing alone outside the packhouse.Asha took a long, tired breath before he spoke, and I clung to every single word he spoke.“About five years ago,” he said, looking nervous. “I was indirectly responsible for the death of my mate.”“How?” I whispered, hating the pain that flitted across his features and pinched his dark brows together.“I would prefer to show you in person,” he explained, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. “Once you return to my pack with me, I will explain everything, I promise. I know I should have explained a long time ago, but I didn’t think it would ever be something I could live with. But you changed that for me.”My lips parted and I looked up at him, staring deep into his eyes to see if I could find the hint of a lie.But there was only ra

ASHA I could feel the surge of rage inside me, pulsing and threatening to overflow. My wolf begged to be released, itching to get its claws and fangs buried around Dwight’s neck. There was a slight movement, and I watched as Dwight’s Delta walked forward, stepping between Dwight and I to observe the ancient rites before any Alpha match. I didn’t care to pay attention. My focus was fixed on Pixie, who looked so small between Jared and WormWhick that it was almost comical. Finally, the Delta nodded and stepped back, signaling for the Alphas to shift and begin the fight. In a heartbeat, I had shifted, shaking out my thick fur. I stood tall, even in my wolf form, and once Dwight shifted, I was actually a little surprised to see that Dwight’s wolf was just as large as I was, something I hadn’t expected at all. I had thought his wolf would be no larger than Pixies at best given the fact that he was more of a meager Alpha and had barely seen real combat. Dwight’s wolf was as plain as I

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE - HIGH

ASHAI couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt so settled on a long trip. When we got back to the manor I hastily packed the things I had came with, Jared helping to stuff the things that needed to be carried into the boot before we left and I was finally happy to be out of Silvas lands and finally be going back to mine. Pixie had spoke to me about Amber and I knew that was the only thing she would be glum about but it couldn’t be helped, at least not at the moment.Pixie sat beside me, her small form looking a lot more at ease than it had been the time I saw her in her pack house, Jared drove at a steady speed, a small smile on his face while WormWhick, tired of all that had gone on so far, slouched on his seat in the front and slept away. I glanced back constantly behind us, making sure our tracks were covered and none of Dwight’s wolves followed after us.For the moment, it was just Pixie and I, and I felt a familiar ease creep into my chest. We didn’t communicate save for a subtl

CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX - LAZY MORNINGPIXIEWaking up next to Asha put a smile on my tired face. I snuggled into his chest, hiding from the crisp morning air and seeking out his warmth. His skin was a furnace on mine, but I wasn’t complaining. I could have stayed like that for hours, just listening to his even breathing, his chest rising and falling with each smooth breath. The only discomfort was the warmth that had grown sticky between my thighs, a mixture of our arousal from a long night together. But I didn’t want to leave the comfort of his bed just yet. I could shower later, maybe Asha would join me again. The thought had a new wave of arousal heating my lower stomach, and I bit my bottom lip.I glanced up at him to make sure he was still sound asleep and had to suppress the sudden urge to giggle. He was completely passed out, his mouth hanging open slightly, soft snores slipping from the back of his throat. He really was so cute. I wondered how this man was the same wolf who made ot

“Is that how you greet people in the morning?” Jared joked, chuckling dryly bit I only wanted to find Asha and who else knew better on where to find him than his cousin. My eyes narrowed, and he quickly gave in. “Okay, Asha is talking to one of the pack members about training and shouldn’t be disturbed.”“So, what? You’re here to babysit me?” I scoffed, walking around Jared. I followed Asha’s scent down another hallway, one I’d never been down before. At the end of the hallway, a door opened, revealing Asha looking exceptionally pleased. And there was a female standing in the room behind him.Without meaning to, a deep, rumbling growl vibrated through my chest, almost startling me and definitely catching both Asha and the female behind him off guard.“Baby,” he murmured, his eyes finding me standing at the end of the hallway, my hands curled into loose fists at my sides. He walked towards me, the female following along behind him and making my blood boil. “Where’s Jared?”“Here,” Jare

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT - INEVITABLE

ALPHA ASHAI had taken so much pride in watching Pixie settle into her new pack over the next couple of days.I’d slowly begun to notice her leaving my side to find her own food as she became more comfortable and familiar with the whereabouts of her favourite cup ramen in the kitchen. I started to feel a little more at ease, leaving her asleep in my bed while I went out for the early morning patrols.I did miss having her beside me all the time, but I knew it was important for her to establish her own place in our pack, especially considering she would soon be my Luna. The pack needed to meet her and see what I saw, because the role of a Luna was somehow so much more difficult than that of an Alpha. While an Alpha only had to rely on being physically stronger and smarter than my opponent, a Luna had to work to win over the members of the pack, regardless of how loyal they may be to her Alpha.I had slowly introduced her to my pack members, each of them practically beaming when they me

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE - OLD HOMES

ALPHA ASHAWe raced through the woods, our wolves trilling and howling with joy. It was late, although it was probably early considering the light of dawn stained the horizon beyond the mountains. I chased after her with a brand new fire blazing in my lungs, something I never thought I’d ever get to feel again.I caught up to Pixie again and pounced on her, tackling her to the ground and loving the way she huffed in amusement as we both fell to the grass. Before I could do anything, I heard the telltale rumble of hunger coming from Pixie’s stomach. Without another thought, I hopped up and gently nudged her with the end of my snout, silently telling her to wait for me. She nipped my ear in agreement and slithered out from under me.I stalked off into the thicket of trees, hackles raised and nose low to the ground. I could faintly pick up the scent of deer not too far off. There must have been two, no, three of them just a few hundred feet away. They’d left behind traces of shorn leaves

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER NINETY-THREE - HAPPILY EVER AFTER

PIXIEThe sun casted its golden rays upon the south, blessing it withs its divine touch. Today was no ordinary day, for the first time in history, the South, the West and the North all sat around one large round table. My father, though not looking totally impressed sat beside grand-Alpha Asha. Dwight, who looked like he had had better days, sat beside his father, the orange haired Alpha that had betrayed my father looked just like I had last saw him so many years ago, except this time he hah shaved his beard and thus looked years younger.I sat beside Asha, my hand on his arm, the metals of his wheelchair sheening under the soft light from the chandelier, his wheelchair was always scrubbed clean by Tristan. We were all present, all ruling parties under one roof, a treaty so big the parchment stretched from one end of the table to the other was lay on the table. The treaty was a declaration for peace, though not covering eternity but for as long as the grand-Alphas and Alphas after th

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER NINETY-TWO - THE WARS END

How waging war against my pack was a solution for the Alpha Silva to bring his daughter to him was still a mystery to me, though it also brought a lot of answers. Griffins attack had not only proven that the Silva pack had nothing to do with the attack that led to the death of Naomi, it had also proven that it was wolves from Griffins pack that had attacked. It gave me a sick feeling in my gut just thinking about it, I had been so blinded by rage that I had actually considered killing Alpha Silva when he was innocent of any conflict that had led to Naomi’s death, instead, the wolf I should have held responsible was held securely in a cellar, immune to death from my maw and awaiting a brawl. It was like these last few hours had opened my eyes and changed my view on anything I had thought to be true. Keeping my mind on the sentries that tried to kill me while also processing the magnitude of fucked everything truly seemed impossible and I found myself in an awkward situation of wrestlin

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER NINETY-ONE - A SECOND POV

PIXIEI could feel the smirk on griffins voice as he spoke, a smirk that was just as threatening as his growls and I wanted nothing more than for Asha to end the wolf once for all just like how Amber had ended Gloria.I stared at Asha from behind, we all did, waiting for him to do it, to deliver the finishing blow and finally put an end to this long fought war.‘Release him!’ Asha said and I could relate to the defiant growl Ayla gave in protest, Griffin was no pup, he was far too dangerous to be given any sort of leverage as he could take the slightest advantage and take a killing blow at soneone’s throat.‘Release him…’ Asha said again and I could feel his aura upon us, commanding Ayla to do as he said.Ayla and Jared released their hold on Griffin, and he ruffled like a cold bird when he stood.‘Make a move and I’ll destroy you!’ Asha said,‘I know…’ Griffin retorted.Asha turned his attention to me and his eyes went soft, Amber backed away slightly when he came closer to me and he

ALPHA ASHAThe I could feel the smirk on griffins voice as he spoke, a smirk that made the urge I had to break his neck intensify a hundred times fold.It was rather stupid not to have ended him on the spot, but at the same time I could feel the stares of Pixie and Amber boring into my back, waiting for my next move.‘Release him!’ I said at once, drawing a defiant growl from Ayla.‘Release him…’ I said again, but this time my words were laced with venom.Ayla and Jared let go of their hold on Griffin, the Alpha ruffled up when he stood.‘Make a move and I’ll destroy you!’‘I know…’ he said.I turned my attention back to Pixie, Amber backed away slightly when I came closer to my mate and I nuzzled at her sides, the cuts on her sides were still very fresh and I guessed her healing was slowed almost to a halt because of the exhaustion, the fact that she had even survived Griffin alone was still a mystery. My attention was drawn to a hulking form that lay a few meters in the shadow. It o

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER EIGHTY-NINE - TRSITAN

PIXIEI tried to blink the dark spots from my vision, trying to understand that the pain wasn't from Griffin sinking his teeth into my neck; it was his weight that had slammed into my injured body.Amber had charged at him, breaking free of the fear that he held over her and tackling him to the ground. Griffin howled in shock, his pain splitting into a snarl as he spun mid-fall and tore into Amber's exposed throat. He ripped her off of him and threw her across the room, staggering away from me. I spotted the silver glint of a scalpel protruding from his broad back.I fought to get to my feet again, my side bleeding heavily where Griffin's claws had torn through my skin.Pain riddled my body as I stood, shaking and icy from the loss of blood. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep going for much longer. And it didn't seem like help was on its way, either. I was alone, facing Griffin and his crazed eyes as he circled me once more.I had an unsettling sense blanket down over me, and I underst

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHT - DARK

PIXIEWhimpering as she crawled to my side, Amber nosed at my snout.I was panting, breathing hard from the exertion, the pain from shifting too fast, only adding to the agony of Gloria's claws. I couldn't shift back just yet, knowing that the pain would be far worse in my human form. And I did not know what was happening outside. I didn't know if more wolves were approaching to attack or if Gloria and her plan had failed. So I stayed in my wolf form, cuddling against Amber, who had curled her body around me protectively. All her wounds had finally healed, much to my relief, and Gloria hadn't been able to land a single blow. Amber had always been talented in battle, and she'd successfully taken on most of the males back home and come out victorious.Amber glanced at Jonah, who was still lying motionless on the floor. I hoped with all my heart that it was only a sedative that Gloria had forced into his system. I could pick up his faint breaths, his heartbeat slow but definitely still t

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN - GLORIA

PIXIE"Not so dumb after all," Gloria applauded sarcastically. "Yes, Griffin is the son of a murdered Alpha, the Alpha that Asha killed in blind rage and cold blood.""They were rogues," I defended, refusing to allow Gloria to speak lie upon lie about Asha. "They attacked Asha's pack and slaughtered his mate!""And Asha should have died with his mate," Gloria growled. "But no matter, that's all in the past. Now, Griffin has the perfect plan to make him suffer for what he did.""What the hell have you done?""He made me a deal," she grinned. "If I helped him infiltrate Asha's pack, he'd kill you. And I would be the only one who could help Dwight through the pain of losing his stupid lover, and Asha would suffer the same agony twice before Griffin ended him.""You're a monster," I whispered, tears hot on my cheeks. "Both of you.""I think we're pretty clever," Gloria shrugged. "You have to admit, it's an excellent plan. I just can't believe how easily you fell for my act. But I knew you

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX - LONG LOST LOT

PIXIEWith Jonah's full weight slumped against me, I could barely breathe."Jonah," I groaned, whimpering in pain. "Jonah, are you okay?"He didn't answer, and I felt his body sliding to the floor, my gut clenching in fear. "Jonah, what the hell is going on?"His body finally collapsed to the floor with a subdued groan, and I cried out, falling to the floor with him. I spotted the syringe sticking out of his neck and gasped, my eyes flying up to find Gloria standing over us."Gloria?" I whispered, getting back to my feet very slowly, my thoughts running wild and fast, maybe a little too fast for me to even focus on one thought for long enough."Useless doctor," Gloria spat, kicking Jonah's ribs viciously with a nasty leer on her face."He should have known better than to interfere."An icy fear settled in my gut as Gloria glared at me, hatred sparking in her eyes. I desperately tried to open Amber’s door, but it was still locked. I searched around for the keys, finding them inches fro

  • THE ALPHAS FATED MATE   CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVE - FEAR

PIXIEThe rogues were all around us, closing in as Asha howled his warning to the pack. I could hear them dropping their kills in a rush to support their Alpha, but I did not know how far out they were, or if they'd make it in time.I dipped low and lunged forward without a thought, snapping my jaws at a rogue who got too close to Asha's throat. I handed control over to my wolf, desperate to protect my mate, my Alpha, from the surprise rogue attack. My wolf sprang into action, my thoughts devolving into a steady string of "protect, defend, protect, defend', and my movements became more fluid. I was able to take in more information this way, with my wolf at the wheel. I counted the incoming wolves and watched each of them fall at Asha's feet. The only command I gave my wolf was to deny the urge to crawl under him to protect his exposed throat.I had to stay out of his way; I could already sense his panic and concern for my wellbeing through the bond. And I knew that he be better equipp
