Jay's POV:

I sat on the floor, trying to breathe calmly while Debby stood in her human form in front of me.

She was a fucking wolf shifter! She really was a werewolf! That was the only thing that went through my mind over and over again.

Not only that, but the size of her in her wolf form was big, bigger than a bear. If it hadn't been lying down, would it have reached the roof? I didn't want to think it through because it was scary as hell! My body was trembling, and sweat was running down my face.

When she knelt down and raised her hand to touch me, I quickly moved back, almost falling on my back, then swallowed hard.

My breath was labored, and my throat felt so dry.

She sadly stood up with a pained, sad expression on her face.

"Do you now hate me, Jay? Am I now a monster in your eyes that you don't even want me to touch or be around you?" she asked in a cracked voice as tears filled her eyes.

I instantly got to my feet and raised my trembling hand towards her.
