(RENNA'S POV)
Awed!
That was how I felt as Nicholas pulled his sleek black SUV into the Pack's grand estate. As I peered out the window of the car, I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my mouth. The massive structure ahead of us shimmered under the pale light of the full moon. The towering packhouse, built of silver stone and glass, seemed to glow ethereally, a testament to the immense power and wealth of its Alpha.
Nicholas, the Alpha himself, chuckled softly as he turned off the car's engine. He stepped out with effortless grace, opening my door before I could even reach for the handle. His touch was warm as he offered his hand, steadying me as I climbed out.
"Welcome to your new home, Luna," he said, his deep voice laced with pride and warmth.
I swallowed, overwhelmed by the majesty of it all. I took in more details of the hotel's surroundings properly. The estate was breathtaking: cascading fountains framed the grand entrance, surrounded by manicured lawns glowing softly under the moonlight. A line of warriors patrolled in perfect formation, their heads nodding respectfully as we walked past.
"I .... I didn't know your family owned this estate," I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Point of correction," Nicholas replied with a mischievous smirk, his piercing golden eyes glinting. "It belongs to the pack—but as Alpha, it’s mine to command." He said, his voice bearing a hint of subtle pride.
I blinked totally stunned. Though I knew Nicholas was powerful, the extent of his influence still left me stunned at times. He was nothing like the stereotypical arrogant Alphas from the stories my mother used to tell me as a child. Nicholas was commanding, yes, but there was a quiet strength to him , a balance of dominance and kindness that made him irresistible.
He boast about his wealth and look down on those below him.
As I took in my surroundings again, I shook my head in disbelief.
Three years of being his mate, and I still hadn’t uncovered all his secrets. How had I missed that this legendary estate, the pride of this Pack, belonged to him? The name itself, "Moonlit Summit," bore his mark. He was Nicholas Moonstone, after all.
How come it didn't occur to me? I wondered, wanting to smack my head.
.
But then, as I trailed beside him , I felt a sudden nagging feeling of sadness that I didn't really know much about him.
Though our bond had deepened over time, our mating had started as nothing more than a practical arrangement. We got talking, and lost communication after a while.... after him announcing me as the Luna of the pack.
I met Nicholas during one of my mother's many desperate attempts to match me with a mate. After countless failed introductions, I was nearly ready to give up on finding my fated partner. Then, one day, Nicholas had walked into the small village tavern where I worked, on a mission to fulfill his own duty to his pack's elders. We weren’t fated mates, but we’d decided that an alliance between us could serve both of our purposes.
And so, our union began not out of love, but necessity.
Still, I couldn’t help but fall for him over the years. Nicholas's strong yet gentle presence, the way he always treated me with respect, his protective nature, it all chipped away at the walls I’d built around my heart. Yet, despite my growing feelings, I wasn’t sure if Nicholas felt the same. Did he see me as his true Luna, or merely a companion chosen out of obligation?
Although I had grown to love him, I wasn't sure it was the same for Nicholas, but I didn't let it bother me. As long as he treated me right, despite his somewhat aloof nature most times, then I was content.
“Renna,” Nicholas's said, snapping me out of my thoughts. His tone was teasing. “You look lost. What's on your mind?! If you’re this mesmerized by the packhouse’s exterior, just wait until we go inside.”
My eyes instantly lit up, my worries forgotten. " Really?"
Nicholas smiled. "Come on, let's go find out."
Just then, a young warrior dressed in formal crisp pack attire approached us. His name tag read Ralph.
“Welcome home, Alpha Nicholas. Luna Renna,” Ralph greeted us with a respectful bow together with a huge smile.
“Thank you, Ralph,” Nicholas replied. “Could you take the bags from the car trunk and bring them to our quarters?”
"Yes Alpha",
Ralph nodded and quickly went to work.
Then Nicholas turned to me. "Let's go inside", He placed a firm hand on the small of my back, guiding me toward the grand entrance. The moment we stepped inside, I couldn’t help but gasp. The packhouse’s interior was just as awe-inspiring as its exterior. Gleaming marble floors reflected the warm glow of crystal chandeliers, while intricate carvings of wolves in various forms adorned the walls.
The energy in the air was electric, thrumming with the strength of the pack bond. I could feel it tugging at my wolf, a sense of belonging settling deep in my chest.
“This place…” I whispered, unable to find the words.
Nicholas's lips curved into a pleased smile. “I thought you’d like it. Our quarters are just ahead.” He murmured then we headed to the reception.
A pretty red-haired receptionist greeted us with a warm smile. Without Nicholas requesting, she provided a key card. "Welcome, Alpha Nicholas and luna Renna. You’re quarters are ready."
"Thank you, Scarlett," Nicholas accepted the key and led me on. As we trudged on, I couldn't take my eyes off the hotel's interior design. The walls were adorned with exquisite artwork, and the floors were covered in soft carpets that felt like heaven beneath my feet.
We finally reached an elevator, and Nicholas punched in the number 2. The doors opened, revealing a sleek elevator. We stepped in, and the doors closed behind us. The elevator took us to another part of the hotel, which seemed like a different world altogether. My eyes widened in amazement. "This is incredible!"
Nicholas chuckled. "I told you, we have a wing to ourselves."
We got out of the elevator, and Nicholas led me to a door. He inserted the key card, and he pushed open the heavy oak door, I was greeted by the most breathtaking suite I had ever seen. The room was lavishly designed with modern and classic furniture. The space was vast and elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the moonlit mountains. The soft scent of lavender and pine filled the air, calming my nerves.
The walls were painted a soothing gray, and the floors were covered with a soft Maroon rug. The suite had a separate living area, a dining room, and a kitchenette.
"I love it!" I exclaimed, unable to hold back my emotion.
Nicholas smiled, looking pleased with himself. "I'm glad you do," he said, his golden eyes darkening with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine and then closed the distance between us, the husky look I was aware of, back on his face.
" But this is only the beginning, my love. There’s so much more I want to show you. So much more I want to do to you. Well now that we're alone, how about we do something freaky."
My heart raced as he closed the distance between us, his towering frame engulfing mine and his body pressing more against mine. “Alpha,” I breathed, my wolf stirring at his nearness.
"Bring whatever you have on, Alpha Nicholas.". I looked up, my eyes challenging
The words had barely left my mouth when he covered it with his, capturing them into a searing kiss. I moaned and threw my hands around his neck, reveling in the feeling of his mouth against mine. My fingers tangled in his thick hair as I melted against him, surrendering to the pull of our bond.
But before things could escalate, a knock sounded at the door, followed by Ralph’s voice. “Alpha Nicholas, Luna Renna, I’ve brought your bags.”
Nicholas groaned, resting his forehead against mine.
"Hold on. I'm coming," He called out. And then he lowered his tone, "I will go get our bag, and when I'm back, we'll continue from where we stopped."
I giggled, my cheeks flushing. “Go. I’ll be waiting.” I watched him walk off and I bit down on my lower lips. This might be the shortest, yet most amazing trip of my life.
As he turned to answer the door, I placed a hand over my stomach, a secret smile playing on my lips. Tonight felt like the perfect moment to tell Nicholas about the new life growing inside me.
Perhaps this trip would mark the beginning of something truly extraordinary for both of us and our pack.
RENNA'S POV Jared returned with our bag, and took it to the closet. His commanding presence, as always, sent a shiver through me. Alpha or not, he had a way of dominating every room he stepped into."I don't want you stressed," he said, his voice firm yet soft, as he walked back toward me.I arched a brow, feigning a frown. "Don’t tell me you dragged me out to this secluded pack resort just to make me lazy." I murmured. He smirked, his eyes flashing with the faintest hint of gold, his wolf always close to the surface. "I brought you here to spoil my mate silly," he said, his tone dropping into the deep growl that made my heart race."Well, ...." I said with a sly grin, "that sounds like something I would love to indulge in." I added, all smiles."Perfect," He replied, leaning away. "I’ve arranged everything. After I unpack we brought, we will head to the pack’s spa. You’ve been running yourself ragged lately. Between council meetings and rogue patrols, your muscles are overdue for s
RENNA'S POV A bile rose in the pit of my stomach as Nicholas stormed out of the pack's restaurant, his shoulders taut with tension. Whatever notification had popped up on his phone had clearly shaken him to his core. The connection between us as mates, raw and unfiltered, made his emotions ripple through me like a shockwave. I tried to keep eating, but the knot forming in my stomach wouldn’t let me."What notification could have arrived in his phone that made his countenance change in seconds?", I wondered.I turned around and craned my neck in the direction he took, hoping to get a glimpse of him, but I saw nothing. My wolf was already growling low in frustration. What could have unsettled him like that? I wondered. For a moment, I thought of going after him to spy, but thought against it. I would rather wait for him to return and inquire what the notification he received was about. And so I waited. A few minutes later, he returned, his footsteps heavy but controlled. “I’m sorry,”
(NICHOLAS'S POV)"Nicholas, we have a problem. Where the hell are you even?."My mother’s voice rang through the pack link, sharp and urgent. A low growl rumbled in my chest as I sat up, my wolf immediately on edge."What is it?" I responded, already feeling my heart rate spike."Sofia just called me. She's in pain, Nicholas. She said her stomach is hurting…"My blood ran cold. Pain? Sofia?"You have to leave wherever you are, and whatever you're doing. You need to come home now! Nothing must happen to—"I didn’t wait to hear the rest. I severed the link and bolted out of bed, my wolf howling in alarm. I was immediately thrown into a state of panic, as I scrambled to gather my clothes on the floor."What's wrong?" Renna's voice sounded behind me. I hadn't realized when she left the bed. My mind was filled and racing with worst-case scenarios."You're making me scared. What happened? Who was mind linked you?" Renna's voice broke into my thoughts again. This time, she was now standing
RENNA'S POV The scent of the dinner wafted through the room, blending with the sweet, intoxicating scent of my mate, Nicholas. His dark hair fell perfectly, framing his chiseled jawline, and his sharp, intense eyes glimmered with a primal hunger that had nothing to do with the meal. Even in his casual attire, Nicholas radiated an undeniable dominance, his broad shoulders, sculpted chest, and the commanding aura of an Alpha. He had a lot of duties tonight, yet here he was with me.It was our anniversary, and I had suggested we spend the evening alone, just the two of us. Despite his usual duties as the Alpha, always so wrapped up in pack matters, Nicholas had set aside time for me. A rare gesture, but one I cherished deeply. After all, the bond we shared, the connection between an Alpha and his mate, was not something I took lightly.Nicholas's gaze flicked up from his plate, and I felt my heart skip a beat. Oh, the audacity of it all. I blinked several times to ensure my eyes weren't deceiving me. My heart thundered in my chest as I stared at the scene before me. My mate, my Alpha Nicholas, was standing in the pack's dining hall beside another woman, her scent mingled with the unmistakable musk of pregnancy. She claimed to be his mate and said Nicholas will banish me from the pack if I dare speak to her like that again. The air felt charged, suffocating, as I fought the growl threatening to escape my throat. This was my Alpha. My mate. And yet, here he was, standing beside her without so much as a word of protest.I stepped forward, my voice low and raspy, thick with emotion. "Nicholas?", I called. His piercing amber eyes met mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw regret flicker in them. But when he spoke, his voice was calm, unbothered, as though being caught here with another woman claiming his loyalty was nothing out of the ordinary.. “Renna,” he said, as if my name held no more sig
RENNA'S POV"Ashley, I need to go. Thank you for the information. I'll call you back later."The phone call left my thoughts spinning like a whirlwind. Nicholas, my mate and Alpha of the Red Moon Pack, had always been strong, composed, and honorable. For three years, I thought I knew every real of him—his strength, his wolf radiated strength, his decisions were loyal, and his word was his bond. But I had never seen him openly defend another female, let alone break his promises to me until now.Twice.He had broken his word twice, and worse, but I had never caught him defending someone in a way that felt... personal.Currently doubt was clawing at the edges of my mind.I sighed deeply as I stepped out of my car at the pack house, my claws threatening to unsheathe with frustration. As I walked into the packhouse, I wasn’t prepared for the scene that awaited me. Stepping inside, the scent of lavender and an unfamiliar floral note hit me. My heart skipped a beat as I rounded the corner t
RENNA'S POVSofia's smugness grated against my nerves as I rose from the chair, my wolf stirring uneasily within me. Nicholas's sudden appearance had silenced Sofia, but her words still echoed in my mind.My chest ached—not just because of what Sofia had said, but because I’d had to hear it from her and not from my mate. Nicholas, my mate, had chosen to keep it from me. The betrayal burned and I wasn’t thinking straight anymore.I walked past him without sparing him a glance, even as he tried to stop me."Renna, please listen....", His voice was low, calming yet firm, the kind that made most wolves submit. But not me. Not right now.I shrugged off his touch, my wolf growling lowly in my head. Don’t show weakness, Renna. He betrayed us.I stormed upstairs, my vision blurred by unshed tears. Once inside our shared quarters, I slammed the door shut and collapsed onto the bed, my mind whirling with pain and disappointment. The connection between Nicholas and me, the sacred bond of Alpha a
Before I could unleash my fury, Nicholas's expression hardened. His voice carried the weight of an Alpha’s authority, commanding the room. "Sofia," he said coldly, "those flowers aren't for you."With one swift motion, he took the bouquet from her grasp with an assertive gesture and turned to me, handing them over with a tenderness that only I, his Luna, had the privilege of seeing."They’re for my mate," he declared, his piercing eyes locking onto mine with the intensity of his wolf.Sofia's face flushed with humiliation, but I couldn't hide the satisfied smirk tugging at my lips. Yet, what came next surprised me.She wasn’t deterred because within seconds she turned towards Nicholas with her eyes glimmering with a cunning light. "Nicholas, Nic... nic. I’m so sorry to interrupt your private time, but... the flower is for me, right? Remember back in high school, you used to bring me lavender flowers, during the full moon. Remember those nights? Back in the packhouse, before she came

RENNA'S POV)I stormed into the packhouse, the air around me crackling with the tension I carried. Shockingly Sofia, was seated in the living room, her eyes fixed on a reality show playing on the massive TV.She glanced at me briefly, her expression indifferent, before turning her focus back to the screen. Fine, if she wanted to play the ignore game, I was up for it too. I continued toward the grand staircase that led to my room.Just as my foot touched the last step, Sofia’s voice rang out."Nicholas”I froze in my tracks, my wolf stirring uneasily within me. Turning back, I saw her leap from the couch and fling herself into his arms as he stepped into the room.“I’ve missed you, Alpha. Are you alright? Have you been overworking yourself? Are you stressed?” Sofia fussed, her hands roaming over his chest and arms.Nicholas didn’t move, he stood stiffly, his voice cold but commanding. “Sofia. Stop it. Mind your actions.”I heard him speak but he didn’t push her away. He didn’t growl or
(RENNA'S POV)At the close of the pack dining hall meeting, Alpha Nicholas was already waiting outside the pack’s dining hall to drive me home." Alpha Nicholas is here," Rebecca announced her head peeking through my office door."Go away, Rebecca," I replied smiling."Alright, alright, luna" Rebecca giggled and left.I hurriedly packed up; I would rather not keep Nicholas waiting. Stepping outside, I found him leaning against his sleek black car, radiating dominance. Even in the moonlight, his eyes seemed to glow, a reminder of the wolf within."And how was your day, my Luna?" he asked, the moment I got to him, his deep voice sending a shiver through me."Hectic as usual," I replied, handing him my bag."You wouldn't stop even if I commanded you, would you?" he teased, his lips twitching into a smirk."Not in this lifetime," I said with a grin. My role as the pack's senior chef was everything to me, and he knew it."Here, let me help you get in," He murmured, his voice softening as
RENNA'S POV I felt the tension ripple through Nicholas's body beside me. His normally warm presence turned cold, his muscles rigid like a predator cornered. I knew I had crossed an invisible line. The question was, how would the Alpha in him respond? “Oh, I think I might have stood next to another female wolf accidentally,” He spoke up after a while, trying to sound nonchalant but his tone was too casual to be believable.A searing pain shot through my chest, not from anger but from the bond we shared. Mates could sense deception, and the bitter taste of his lie stung more than I could handle. Vanilla. The scent clung to him, but it wasn’t mine. My scent was lavender. That fragrance belonged to someone else—Sofia, he probably got it when she leaned her head on his shoulder.“Is something wrong, Renna?” His deep voice was softer now, laced with a calm that belied his true emotions. What could I say? What could I possibly say to the Alpha of the pack without shattering everything? Wha
(ARIELLE'S POV)I knew what I was about to do was wrong, going against the principles of the Luna I was raised to be, but I couldn’t stop myself. My hands moved on their own as I typed in his password. Nicholas, had once mentioned in the car that his password was my name, right?. Well, now was the time to find out.I typed my name, and to my amazement, his phone unlocked. My fingers hovered over the screen for a moment before I clicked onto the message box specifically Sofia’s thread. The words on the screen made my blood run cold immediately."Hey, are you done bathing?"“Will you come keep me company after you're done? The forest is beautiful under the moonlight tonight.”"Why aren't you responding? Is Renna awake?""Are you ignoring me?""Nicholas!!!"“I can’t sleep. Come down, and let’s go outside to watch the moon rise like we did when we were pups.”"You promised me at the pack infirmary's garden that we would stargaze, remember?"Angrily, I muted the phone and dropped it back
(RENNA'S POV)I was roused from sleep by a gentle tap. My eyes fluttered open, and I saw Nicholas leaning over me. His eyes glowed faintly in the dim light, a telltale sign of his wolf lingering close to the surface.“Dinner is ready, my mate,” he murmured, his voice deep and warm, as he pressed a soft kiss to my forehead.“Dinner?” I sat up quickly, disoriented. “What time is it?” I glanced at the window, noticing the dark expanse of the forest beyond but the bedside lamp illuminated the room with a cozy glow.Nicholas chuckled, a rumble that always reminded me of a distant growl. “You’ve been asleep for four hours, love. That’s rare for you. Come to think of it, you never slept this much. Are you feeling alright?”I hesitated before nodding. “I’m fine,” I said quickly, brushing off his concern. The truth was, my newfound exhaustion and bouts of weakness likely had something to do with the bond deepening between me and our unborn pup. But I wasn’t ready to share that secret with Nic
