CHAPTER 2.1

Andrew's birthday party was hosted in one of the Martinez's three mansions, which Ciel and Raffy never expected to see in person because they had only seen pictures of it, yet they were already inside of it.

Ciel and Raffy arrived for Andrew's birthday party about seven o'clock. It was still early, but the crowd was already packed, and Ciel had already seen a few people so drunk that they couldn't even stand on their own two feet, causing Ciel's face to wince.

He had just arrived, but he already wanted to go home.

“Wow. It's... loud,” Raffy said in amazement while looking around.

The two of them were standing near the crowded swimming pool, and they were surrounded with drunk and tipsy people; some they were familiar with, and some were people they'd never met. Everyone around them was going wild.

“So this is how rich people party,” Raffy muttered again as he was still not done looking around.

“It’s so fucking loud,” Ciel replied in annoyance.

“Of course it would be loud. It wouldn’t be a party if it wasn't loud, Ciel,” Raffy replied.

Ciel rolled his eyes. “That is why I don’t wanna come here.”

It was then that Raffy finally took his gaze back to Ciel. “Come on. Let’s not talk about that now. We’re already here, so let’s enjoy, alright? Anyway,” he looked around again, “where should we go? Shall we get inside?”

“I’d rather stay here and wait for you, so...”

“Ciel!”

A frown immediately appeared on Ciel’s face when his word got cut off by someone calling his name.

“You’re finally here! We’ve been waiting for you!” Said Andrew, who came out running from inside the mansion just to meet them. And words as greeting weren’t enough for the alpha; he also put his arm over Ciel’s shoulders, making the omega’s face be filled with disgust.

As if he were being electrified, Ciel jumped away from Andrew and stood on the other side of Raffy instead, looking like he was protecting himself from a dangerous person. And in a voice full of hatred and wariness, he told Andrew, “Don’t you know that it’s rude to invade a person’s, whom you’re not even close with, personal space?”

Shock was evident on Andrew’s face upon witnessing Ciel's reaction to him. He was not expecting to see such a reaction.

All his life, every single person Andrew had met showed nothing but admiration and love for him. There were also those who showed jealousy to him because he manifested as an alpha, and a dominant one at that. But no one has ever shown disgust and hostility towards him, not until that moment with Ciel.

Other people that have the same status as Ciel usually would be glad if he paid them attention and be over the moon if he touched them.

But Ciel was different. The little omega was acting like something dirty had just touched his skin, even saying something about personal space.

Raffy, who was not even acknowledged by Andrew, finally spoke up as he got scared for Ciel.

“Ciel values his personal space so much, and he's not used to people invading it. You know how he is, Andrew. He doesn't mean anything bad about it,” he said in an apologetic tone, his voice filled with haste and worry.

Raffy was well aware of Andrew's attitude and behavior, so before things could escalate into something bad with the huge possibility of Ciel being put into a tight spot, he had decided to speak up and defend his friend.

Andrew's attention went to Raffy after he said that, but it was only for a mere couple of minutes. He immediately turned his attention to Ciel again, as if he doesn't give a fuck about Raffy, making the beta feel embarrassed.

Ciel disliked the way Raffy was treated. It was then that he noticed Andrew had been ignoring Raffy since the morning he invited him, acting as if he couldn't see the beta, which did not sit well with the little omega.

'Is it because Raffy is beta?’ Ciel thought.

Ciel's disgusted face worsened at that thought.

If this is how they're going to be treated, then they'd rather leave. As he thought, coming to Andrew's party was a bad decision.

But before he leaves, he needs to say something to the shameless and arrogant alpha first, something that no one probably has ever told him before.

Ciel opened his mouth and was about to speak when someone with a baritone voice called Andrew, catching Raffy, Andrew, and Ciel's attention.

The three shifted their gazes in unison to the source of the baritone voice, which led them to a man striding towards them with a cold scowl on his face. And that man is the most popular student at their college: Maverick Garcia, the dominant alpha, who Ciel disliked the most.
