“Maverick! You’re finally here!” Andrew exclaimed in excitement and gladness upon seeing Maverick making his way towards them. “What took you so long, man? The party has already started, and the guys have been waiting for you!” He asked after Maverick had finally arrived in front of him.
“I had to settle some things,” Maverick answered in his usual cold and nonchalant tone, completely oblivious to how excited Andrew is with his arrival.
“By settling some things... Do you mean settling your family, or your grandfather, to be more specific?" Andrew asked with one of his brows raised. Curiosity could also be heard in his voice as he asked that question.
But the expression on Andrew’s face changed in an instant—his curiosity dissipating and nervousness took over—when Maverick's face darkened, an indication that he disliked the question that came out of Andrew's mouth.
“Mind your own business, Andrew,” Maverick said in a colder tone, also accompanying it with his strong pheromones. And because Maverick is a dominant alpha, even the slightest smell of his pheromones would be enough to gather the attention of the people around him, especially the omegas.
Maverick knew the effect of his pheromones on others, yet he acted oblivious and continued to arrogantly pour out his pheromones, making the people around him, especially the omegas, feel uncomfortable.
Suddenly, the loud and wild crowd was turned into a dead one. The loud music was still playing, yet the people had stopped dancing and moving and just stared at the two dominant alphas—Maverick and Andrew, although the attention was more into Maverick.
The place was filled with tension. Everyone was on edge as they looked at the two alphas, especially on Maverick, who was still emitting pheromones.
“I... I'm sorry, Mav. I was out of line,” said Andrew after a couple of minutes of just being struck silent, which surprised the people around them.
Since Andrew is popular in their college, everyone knows what kind of personality he has. And the Andrew they knew was not the kind of person who would apologize even if it was his fault. Which was why they were so shocked to hear an apology coming from the prideful and arrogant dominant alpha.
None of them had thought that they'd live to see that day!
“Let's not do that again, alright?” was Maverick's reply to Andrew, causing the crowd's attention to switch unto him. And when the crowd stared at Maverick, the shock they felt upon Andrew's apology vanished in an instant.
It's Maverick Garcia, the most popular and most desired alpha not just in their college but in their whole town, and he is also the eldest grandchild of the most powerful man in their town. Of course it's normal to apologize if you have offended him.
Andrew might be a dominant alpha and is also popular, but Maverick is in his own league that even any other rich and dominant alpha would willingly bow down to him.
So if dominant alphas could submit to him, what more the other genders, such as recessive alphas, the betas, and the lowest gender, the omegas? Even if they wanted to tell Maverick to stop emitting his pheromones because it's affecting them and making them feel uncomfortable, they couldn't. They couldn't say a thing because they already knew the blame would be put on them, resulting in them being called names for not being able to control themselves as if it was something they wanted to feel or happen. And so instead of complaining or asking Maverick to tone down his pheromones, the omegas present in the party chose to take their suppressants and depart.
But the little omega behind Andrew and Maverick did not do the same thing.
Rather than departing quietly, Ciel, with his head held high and no fear in his voice, spoke up in an irritated voice.
“How about you quit showing off your damned pheromones first, you arrogant bastard?”
A collective gasp from the crowd was immediately heard after that. In an instant, everyone turned their attention from Maverick to the brave and fearless little Omega.
Ciel felt the shocked stares of the people on him, but he did not pay them any attention. His eyes were only focused on the guy in front of him, who finally turned around to look at him after ignoring him and Raffy, who were literally just right in front of Andrew, as if they're mere dust that does not deserve even an ounce of attention and respect.
Ciel was already mad because of how Andrew treated Raffy, and his anger just intensified when Maverick arrived. Because how could you cut off a conversation of people and act as if you did nothing disrespectful, then proceed to do something even more outrageous that could put others in danger?
Ciel's eyes were wide open, and his mouth was agape as he stared at the person next to him, who was sound asleep without even a single cloth on his body.Ciel blinked a couple of times, rubbed his eyes, and even pinched his cheeks, wanting to be sure that what he was seeing was real and not just a dream. And when he felt a sting on his cheeks, that's when he knew that what he was seeing was not just a dream or an imagination of his, but a reality—which he does not want to believe.Ciel felt the blood drain from him as he continued to stare at the person next to him who was none other than the person he disliked the most—Maverick Garcia.“What happened? Why are we together like this? Why is Maverick with me?”From Maverick, Ciel's eyes went to his own body. He examined his body, and his eyes widened even more upon seeing lots of kisses and bite marks on his body. His chests, most especially his nipples, were red and swollen as if an insect sucked and bit on them. There are also a coupl
A day before...“Come on, Ciel. Let’s go together. I’m sure it’ll be fun!”Ciel rolled his eyes for the third time when he heard his closest friend, Raffy, pleading. From the moment Ciel arrived at their class, Raffy has already been pestering him about going to Andrew, their alpha classmate’s, birthday party.Ciel had already told Raffy that he has no plans to go because, first of all, he’s not close with Andrew, and second, he was not invited by the birthday celebrant, and he’s not that bold enough to crash a birthday party of someone he barely even interacted with. But Raffy continued to be persistent, acting like he didn’t hear all the reasons he had told him why he did not want to go.“We’re in our third year now, and we’ve never been to a single party or even gatherings with our classmates or with anyone. Are you not even a bit curious about how it feels to hang out with them?”“No,” Ciel immediately replied.“But I am,” Raffy said while pouting.“Then go to that party. It’s not
Ciel immediately heard the horns of the tricycles and jeepneys after exiting the college building's gate. Some of the drivers were also personally calling his attention, asking him if he wanted to ride, but he politely declined all of them. The house where he rented a room is only a few walks away, so there was no need for him to take a ride, which was one of the things he highly considered when he decided to move out of their home and live on his own. After more than ten minutes, Ciel finally reached the house, entered it, and was greeted by Lala, the lovely old Omega landlady, who was sitting on the couch and was watching her favorite telenovela.“How were your classes, Ciel? Were they entertaining enough to keep you from falling asleep?”Ciel smiled at the kind landlady. “A bit boring, but not too boring for me to be asleep.”Lala gave back Ciel's smile and nodded as a response to his answer. She then proceeded to say, “I cooked banana fritters and left some for you. Go get them in
When Ciel went out of the bathroom, fully dressed, he saw Raffy sitting on his bed again. But unlike a moment ago, Raffy was not eating a banana fritter anymore and was just quietly sitting while staring and scrolling at his phone, which was abruptly stopped as well the moment he felt Ciel's stares on him.“If you're going to ask for the banana fritter, I already ate it. Since it seems that you don't want it anymore anyway,” Raffy said when Ciel started walking towards the bed.Ciel sat beside Raffy before dragging the table to be in front of him.“How did you enter my room? As far as I remember, I locked my door,” Ciel asked, ignoring what Raffy had just said. But Raffy seemed to not mind that at all and just answered Ciel's question. “The usual. I borrowed the spare key from Lala.”“I already told you to stop doing that. Stop bothering Lala.”“If you answered right away after I came knocking on your door while calling out your name, then I wouldn't have to bother Lala for the spare
Andrew's birthday party was hosted in one of the Martinez's three mansions, which Ciel and Raffy never expected to see in person because they had only seen pictures of it, yet they were already inside of it.Ciel and Raffy arrived for Andrew's birthday party about seven o'clock. It was still early, but the crowd was already packed, and Ciel had already seen a few people so drunk that they couldn't even stand on their own two feet, causing Ciel's face to wince. He had just arrived, but he already wanted to go home.“Wow. It's... loud,” Raffy said in amazement while looking around. The two of them were standing near the crowded swimming pool, and they were surrounded with drunk and tipsy people; some they were familiar with, and some were people they'd never met. Everyone around them was going wild.“So this is how rich people party,” Raffy muttered again as he was still not done looking around.“It’s so fucking loud,” Ciel replied in annoyance.“Of course it would be loud. It wouldn’t
