Chapter 1

Luciana

The memory of my parent's painful death flashed back at me, my eyes brimmed with tears, but I couldn't let it fall; I'm stronger now.

I must avenge my parent's death and make the killers pay for what they have done.

Would it ever be possible? I became a wolfless omega the moment my parents died, the lowest pack member, who served as the pack's football.

I stood before the giant dressing mirror before me as I tied my hair into a bun; as usual, I would be heading to the training ground for my early morning training. I may be a wolfless omega, but I'm good at martial arts.

My father made sure he trained me, so I would be able to defend and fight for myself when they're no more.

I swallowed hard, as I buttoned my black sleeveless shirt, with my hand shaking vigorously.

I slipped into my black leather trousers and a black jean jacket to match. I love dressing in black for my training; I wore a black boot my father had gifted me on my sixteenth birthday.

The door was pushed open, banging on the walls loudly, and it revealed no other person than Claven.

The man I wished to call mine.

He has hazel green eyes, which always make my heart skip a beat anytime our gaze meets. I'm certain I'm not the only person who always feels his strong aura swirling around him. He looks cold and unapproachable, he has an upturned nose with thick eyebrows.

He's 6”7 tall with long legs and short wavy hair. His body was bathed in tattoos, which hold a mysterious meaning, but he would never talk about it.

Everyone in the pack knows he fears no one; the alpha listens to him because he's the strongest werewolf and his right-hand man.

He's the only person who questions the alpha and would go unpunished.

But this man's life is a mystery which no one knows about, he has a strong aura which would make one submit before him.

I saved his life three years ago in the woods. My parents, the princess, and I had gone out to run through the woods; my mom, in her wolf form, carried the princess while my dad carried me on his back.

We met him bathed in blood with several wounds on his body, my father suggested we leave him because we knew he must have been attacked by wild animals or rogues, I objected to his idea and decided to bring him to the pack, despite the wounds that bathed his body that night, he was still handsome and demure.

When he regained consciousness, he lost his memory. He has no memory of his past or where he came from; he was just a wanderer who almost got killed by the pack's rogues; the only thing he remembered was his name, Claven.

The alpha saw how masculine he was and decided to keep him by his side after he won the pack's trust.

I must confess the alpha trusts him with his life, as he listens to him more than anyone else.

“What are you staring at?. The alpha demands your presence”. He said coldly, turning his back on me.

“Is something wrong?”. I asked nonchalantly, wanting to see his reaction, I want his green hazel eyes to meet mine again…..I want him.

“Don't ask stupid questions and follow me”. He snorted, not even sparing me a glance as he walked out of the room. I followed suit immediately, feigning a frown; I wouldn't like to anger the alpha by staying back.

I was at his back watching him as he walked calculatingly toward the throne room. I continued smiling brashly to myself as my gaze fell on his ass, he cared less, not even turning to look at me.

He's indeed a god. I hope he gets his memory back.

Getting to the throne room, the alpha was seated on his gold-plated chair, with Luna beside him on his right while Xandia was seated on his left. Some of the pack members were already seated, wondering why the alpha had called for a meeting.

I sat beside Clinton, the gamma's son, who smiled at me, giving me a “welcome look”. Claven stood at the entrance, his eyes scanning the room indifferently.

The alpha clears his throat, and tranquility travels through the room immediately, with our gazes fixed on him.

“Thank you all for honoring me with your presence. Ever since we lost our pack's beta, the pack has been slow in progressing”.

The pack's beta, my parents.

I swallowed hard, my heart thundering. I was supposed to be the next beta after my parent's death, but I haven't shifted. I don't think it would be possible.

“I called you all here to let you know that I would be choosing a new beta as soon as possible”. His eyes traveled to me and he shook his head distastefully and continued. “A wolfless Omega can't be a betaClaven would be my beta and the princess's bodyguard, who would assist in breaking her sealed powers”.

“I……..”

“Changing a beta is quite too fast an alpha, why not give Luciana some time? Who knows, she might shift on her nineteenth birthday?”. Claven's gruesome voice came in, protesting the alpha's decision.

How brave of him.

We all celebrated my eighteenth birthday last year, all thanks to the princess.

Xandia's face was etched with worry as she looked at her father, whose face was impassive. My heart was thundering, my hands shaking; Claven had said what I would have said, and I'm grateful for that.

“My decisions are final, Claven”. He looked at me again, sending cold shivers down my spine. “She would have shifted when she was eighteen; besides, I have no time to wait for a wolfless omega; I'm the Alpha.” He said, leaving no room for argument.

I exhaled deeply as I stood on my feet. “I understand, alpha. The pack's beta was my parents. I will make them proud by proving to you how eligible I am to my birthright”. I said to the alpha with a glimpse of hope; I saw Xandia giving me a “go girl look.”

My princess.

“I have no time to wait for a wolfless Omega!!!”. He growled, his eyes blazing. His next words made a look of disbelief cross my face.

“Guards!!!. Drag her out of this room!!”. He commanded with contempt, glaring at me.

“Dad!!!”. Xandia called, as she climbed down the throne stairs.

Two hefty guards stormed in, yanking my hands aggressively, a flare of pain shot through me as I was dragged toward the entrance door like a traitor.

“Don't touch her!”. Claven growled murderously, making the guards halt in their steps.

“Get your filthy hands off her!!”. I heard Xandia's voice behind me.

My woman.

The guards looked at the Alpha; I guess they mind-linked each other; they freed my hands and stepped back.

Claven's eyes were glimmering red as he looked at them, I gave him a sad smile as his glimmering eyes met mine. I walked out of the throne room, each step filled with exhaustion and sadness, tears streaming down my cheeks.

“Let's go train, my queen”. Xandia's voice came from behind, making me stop in my tracks, turned a

round and looked at her.

“We can do that tomorrow my princess”. I said softly, my heart squeezing.
