~ NADIA

My heart was pounding as I walked around the garden in my father's pack house.

It's been over eight hours and there's still no news from Jaxon.

“Has the plan fallen apart?” I was scared. I knew that witch was up to no good. All she wanted was simply to lure us into a trap and now that stupid Jaxon had fallen face-first into her trap.

He loves strange women so much and I'm so sure he had something done with her. How stupid was I to believe this?

My dad's pack would be facing an all-range attack because of this silly mistake of mine.

“What do I do, how can I resolve this? I could go to Hunter and beg him in tears, at least I know he hates Alpha Killian and I knew what he had done to him. I can't stand to see all my parents have to work to go down the drain.” I uttered scared to the bones.

This is a stupid plan. I knew it wouldn't take Jaxon a silver bullet before he rats me out. “Is this how I'm going to die, without even seeing my child? I only sought to punish that annoying b

I had been absent from pack meetings and left my beta, Jared, to handle the events. It was also just three more weeks till I went to receive my award at the werewolf Gala organized by Alpha King Leonard.I was meant to have sent my list of expected delegates and lost our needs before our arrival but my mind wasn't into it anymore. My wolf had grown weak within me as we couldn't protect our mate. Whatever could wave this away and bring my dear Laura back to me, I would give anything for it.I had gone to meet my uncle Declan to talk to someone who had a semblance of family to me, but on getting there he had his episodes to handle. His son had also been kidnapped, and he had lost h

~ JARED“Lionel, do you read me, Lionel, Beta Jared here? What's the update?” I had asked Lionel for intel as I was on the field searching for any links that could lead to the discovery of Laura's location. It's been five days since we found some trails outside of the pack but they all led nowhere. The last lead we got even though it wasn't what we hoped for was at least instrumental in getting back the Alpha's uncle's son.He had been kidnapped by rogue wolves who had taken him captive for some fortification ritual.I didn't know wolves still believed in such. I also had heard many such stories myself growing up, but I had never absorbed myself to believe in such as I was a strong warrior myself, and so I paid no mind to it and shelved it as rumors and fairytales. But it now seemed like a real thing as I heard his captors confess how they did such for some strange Lycans. Well, the Lycans have always been strange and out of touch with our realities as full-blood wolves. They on th

I knew he was doing that to distract me from that which occupied my mind.Day and night, I was in pain and deep hurt. My view of myself was that of one who had been gifted an eternal destiny of suffering. Was my sins this great for only me to suffer from all these consequences? In the past twelve years, it's been a calamity every four years. This was the twelfth year and I haven't figured out a solution to my calamities. First, it was my mum who had died of a strange ailment. I couldn't have been of any help as I was away and it was kept away from me to not distract my final exams.I didn't forgive my dad for holding such information from me, it made me stay away from the pack much longer than necessary. I had promised not to return to this pack, I never wanted to be their Alpha. I was pissed that no one could have at least let me say

In all my years in the pack's intelligent unit and now as Beta, I had never been given a task as gruesome as this.I began to think this was an inside job as every safehouse we had a lead one, once we got there, either they had just moved or no one was there. They seemed to be two steps ahead of us. I couldn’t explain how they managed to outsmart us. The last lead was a close call. My men and I arrived at the location only to be met by the sounds of grenades and gunshots. We followed the trail and it was a dead end. We had followed a group of drug dealing cartels to their hideout and engaged in a wasted battle with them.As much as they weren’t our original target, I was glad we had snuffed out a destructive chain from our werewolf pack. “How could they have operated under my radar and I knew it not,” I asked myself as I was stuck in deep introspection. When Alpha Killian received the news of our findi

~ JARED“What nonsense is this? I need to leave now.” I thought as I sat, vexed and insulted by the neglect I had endured sitting here for almost four hours unattended.Time was well spent and the time was almost midnight and here I was, seated like an omega, preparing for an interview.I stood up and tried to walk away when I was stopped by three hefty guards. I couldn’t even tell where they had come from. They weren’t here all the time.I had to exercise caution, as I did not understand the affairs of this pack.“All right guys, I’m just excusing myself from here. There’s no need for a fight,” I said, my hands stretched out and my palms facing the ground. I controlled my body movements and showed no signs of fear and they seemed to notice that too. There was no point in being scared in the first place; I had seen worse things. I had killed a Lycan and even a Centaur so there was no fear in me from just three of these, maybe average wolves with tall stature.“Okay, what do you want

~ KILLIANThis was the best news I had received. She's alive, Laura is alive.I got off the call with Jared when he briefed me of having received a reliable Intel on the location of Laura, however, there was one thing that startled me in his words. “She was kidnapped by a sorcerer alongside some wolves.”I tried to fathom the relationship Laura had been involved in in her past that would warrant such an assault on her. Something inside of me wanted to inquire about Jared's source but he didn't want to divulge that, he told me it was a stranger who gave him the lead with a promise of anonymity.I wished to probe further but what need was there in doing so? What mattered most was that I would reunite with Laura and our kids.I was thankful to the moon goddess that her captors had not killed her, I knew not if she had been hurt, but I prayed she wasn't hurt. The journey to finding Laura had been three whole weeks. I felt a bit relieved but my heart was saddened.“How did she look now,

I knew who Katrina was and how she wouldn’t spare a case in listing out our intimate details, and that wasn’t something I’d want a mere guard to learn about.Whatever he had glanced through was enough, as I asked him to leave instantly. I thought about the error of my ways and how I had met judgment without trial on Katrina and almost took her life. For a moment, I felt bad about myself, bad about my position, and what I had done.I made her look bad—real bad. It would take a lot of healing and maybe some surgeries to correct what I had inflicted on her.My mind was really unstable at that moment, and I didn’t have a hold on all I had done. My wolf sought after its mate and was in much greater control at that moment.“Where was my humanity? We were supposed to come together, but it seems he wants to do things his own way. It’s laughable how he thinks he can win Laura back by playing the hero.Out of nowhere, something smashed into my windshield, shattering it into pieces. I ducked and took cover behind the car.My men were already shooting at the ambushers, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.Loading my gun, I joined the fight and soo

We discovered the juice she drank was poisoned.”What? Who brings poison to a kid’s party?Confused, I turned to Alpha Newton, who had been with me in the doctor’s office. Nadia was at Olivia’s bedside, sobbing uncontrollably.“Don’t you know anything about this?” I demanded, glaring at him, but he stayed silent. “If you’d let Olivia stay under my roof, this wouldn’t have happened,” I snapped.Newton narrowed his eyes at me, his expression challenging. “Even if Olivia makes it through this, you won’t be keeping her!”I growled in response. We locked eyes, our anger palpable, until the doctor interrupted. “Can we continue now?”“What’s the plan to fix her condition?” I asked urgently.“Miss Olivia’s blood is contaminated by the poison she ingested. Besides, I’ve been missing you all holiday, so I figured this was the perfect chance to see you,” Megan replied, her smile growing as they walked into the grand living room where the party was in full swing.“Same here! I tried calling you, but you wouldn’t pick up!” Olivia said with a frown.“My mom confiscated my phone. I don’t know why, but she seems to be against our friendship,” Megan mused.Olivia's frown deepened. “Why would she be against it? Did I do something wrong?”Megan shrugged. “I don’t think so, but I’m not sure. I've been panicking, worried about where she might have gone, especially with the kids and my baby. She hasn't been answering my calls or replying to any of my texts. I suspect she might have changed her number so I can't trace her location.Even with Liliana's relentless help, we're still short of clues about where she might be. I've also been to all the properties she owns, but none of the caretakers have seen her.She probably thinks I'd harm her if I found out where she is. She knew I'd look for her at her properties, so she played it safe by not going there.I wanted Laura all these years, and when I finally had her, I lost her in the blink of an eye.I wish I could turn back time and right my wrongs. At the very least, I wouldn't have scared her with that damn gun!SighThe guilt of my actions is eating me alive as the days go by, and I fear I might become even more devastated if I

I locked eyes with Katrina, then turned back to him, my gaze narrowing dangerously. Could he have been working with Katrina all this time to kill Laura? In a flash, I caught him as he tried to bolt from the room, grabbing him by the neck. I yanked the gun from his pocket and slammed him against the wall. He collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, blood trickling down his face.As Katrina stepped closer, trying to calm me down, I aimed the gun at her, a silent warning to stay back.“How long have you been working with her?” I demanded from Lionel. He swallowed hard, his voice trembling. “Since you left for your last business trip. Forgive me, Alpha!”Anger darkened my eyes. This had been going on for so long, and I never knew!“What else did she pay you to do besides poisoning Laura?”From the corner of my eye, I saw Katrina shaking her head at him, signaling him to stay quiet as he glanced her way.His face turned pale as I cocked the gun. “What else?” “She paid me to plant a mo

Keeping a straight face, I asked, "What evidence did you find?"She closed the distance between us, suddenly leering at me as she slowly ran her hand up my arm.Sensing her intentions, I swatted her hand away, my jaw tightening with anger. "Is this what you called me for?"She let out a bitter chuckle. "So, it’s come to the point where I can't even touch you?""Stop acting dumb. That was more than just a touch," I snapped, glaring at her. "We've been over this. I have a mate now, and you know what happens if I choose to cheat."I don't desire her anymore. The urge to be with her died the moment Laura came into my life, though I refused to accept it at first. My commitment to Laura goe

His father had never been too weak to fight back. To say the least, Killian always saw his father as undefeated."The strongest man alive," Killian had teased his father a moment earlier while he taught him how to hunt. ~KILLIANI glanced at my wristwatch for the umpteenth time, my eyebrows knitting together in concern. Laura still hadn't returned from the washroom. Just as I was about to go look for her, she was announced as the winner of the category. Since she wasn’t in the hall, I went up on stage to accept the award on her behalf, but my thoughts were elsewhere. I quickly rounded up the speech, almost too abruptly, and handed the award to Droost as I stepped down from the podium."I'll be right back," I told him, my tone hurried. My mind raced with all the negative possibilities as I made my way to the restroom area.Keeping my composure, I walked down the corridor leading to the washrooms and knocked on the first door. "Laura?" I called out. There was silence, and just as I was about to move to the next door, it opened. I stepped inside quickly, feeling relieved at the sight of her. But my relief faded as I noticed her slightly teary eyes."Are you okay?" I asked, my worry evident. She nodded.
