CHAPTER SIX

AVERY'S P.O.V

"So tell me, what is your name?"

"Huh?" I blinked at Damien sitting beside me. He looked at me, his gaze expectant.

"Um_my name is Avery...Avery Blackclaw.

...." i remembererd I no longer belonged there, "...just Avery"

"I see, well Avery. I look forward to your service."

I bowed my head quickly, "Yes Sir"

He chuckled and pat my head ruffling my hair, I froze, unable to move.

"Its okay, you just looked so cute"

"Um...er..thank you?"

"You're wel...."

"I did not put you both in here to talk, you are master and servant. Act like it" Alpha Lucien growled from where he sat beside me. Yes, I was placed between them and honestly I didn't know how to behave. My ex mate and my new master, too awkward, I tried my best to make sure my skin didn't make contact with either of them, it would be rude to do so according to my father. I had wanted to stay in a different car but Damien had been adamant and demanded I stay with him since I was his personal maid. When I had agreed and moved to stay in the passenger seat in front, Alpha Lucien had ordered me to stay with them in the middle, I had no choice.

"Come on, Lucien. I'm just getting to know my maid."

"Do that later"

I don't know but I felt like he was angry, I discreetly looked at him from under my lashes and saw that he was looking out the window but his fists were clenched tight and he seemed to be struggling.

Timidly, I asked, "A..Alpha?"

He stilled then glanced slowly at me, I gasped quietly as I stared into his eyes. The color was just so rare and beautiful, it reminded me of a purple hibiscus.

"What is it?" His rough voice pulled me out of my trance, I gulped and stared at my hands on my laps.

"I was wondering..."

"Speak fast, I don't like games."

"Yes, I was wondering if you were okay" I squeaked. He was silent for a few seconds.

"Why do you ask?" The person who asked was Damien. I looked at him,

"Well, I just felt like he wasn't happy" I spoke the last word in a whisper.

Alpha Lucien snorted, the action made his hand to brush my shoulder, I stayed still in order to stop myself from shivering whether in delight or repulsion, I had no idea.

"Nah, its just his normal mood. He is always this moody"

"Okay"

"Look at me" Alpha Lucien suddenly commanded, I had no choice but to look up at him. He was silent as he watched me, I took the time to look at his face. He had a light stubble on his jaw, his lips were full and pink which should have seemed corny but instead brought out his eyes more. He had packed his hair into a manbun making him elegant and at the same time looking like a playboy. 

"Avery"

Eeep! "Yes sir"

"Do not try to gauge me or my moods" he started, his eyes were piercings and dead serious, the tension in the car suddenly went up a notch, I held my breath. 

"...you might have been my mate but you are now my brother's "Personal Maid", focus on him. Is that clear?" 

I nodded my head faster than I ever did, it was getting hard for me to breath and my wolf was already whimpering in fear.

"Turn it off Lucien, its okay" Damien spoke softly, his voice was like a pail of cold water on my face, I could suddenly breath again.

"Just keep your maid in line" Alpha Lucien growled as he turned his face towards the window again. The fear I had just experienced made me shudder and I tried to hold back the tears that threatened to break out from my eyes but I was not successful so I hung my head and cried silently. 

"Lunas do not cry!" Alpha Lucien suddenly snapped at me, I flinched and almost jumped from my seat.

"B..b..but im not a Luna" I sobbed out. Suddenly, my face was gently yanked up, my eyes landed on Damien's face hairless face, his eyes was shiny with worry.

"It doesn't matter, you were a mate to an alpha, he might have rejected you but you still have the bond. As long as the bond is still on, you are a Luna. So Lunas do not cry."

I sniffed as I stared at him, yes he was right. I shouldn't cry, I might not be Alpha Lucien's mate anymore but I still have some bond with him. I won't disgrace the Alpha bond, I'm not crying again, at least in front of them.

"Thank you sir, and I'm sorry."

"Its okay. Give it some time, you'll get used to your life with us, with me."

I didn't know how to answer that so I just nodded silently.

"Weakling" Alpha Lucien whispered, I stiffened then lowered my head and closed my eyes, it was better to be silent.

The car was silent for a while, then Alpha Lucien stirred and gritted, "Something is coming"

Soon, the car stopped in the middle of the road with the others behind us, everyone stepped down. A man rushed to our car panting, Alpha Lucien quickly opened the door and stepped out.

"What is it?"

"Rogues, about twenty of them Alpha"

"Where?" Damien demanded as he stepped out also. I made to follow him but he turned to me.

"Don't you come out until I give you the permission."

I nodded in acceptance and watched as he slammed the door close. The two brothers went forward to where the rogues were. I hugged myself, I had never encountered rogues before and I was already scared.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5........"

I closed my eyes and began counting, this was my way of keeping myself calm in situations that I have no control over. I was in the number two hundred when I felt something was not right.

"What is going on, my legs..."

Something was pulling me, i suddenly found myself opening the car door and getting out. It was as if a string attached to my chest was being pulled and I had no choice but to move.
