Alpha Michael's POV:

Nothing makes me happier than having to get things for the kids. It's the most wholesome thing to do and not only does it make me feel better, it makes me feel like I have a family to take care of. A family to fall back to.

Julia is starting to warm up to me and I have never been happier. This morning, she had reluctantly told me what to get for her after I'd pestered her. It was progress compared to the other times when she wouldn't even want me to get anything for her.

Catherine wanting a listening device makes me happy enough to be able to get it for her. At least, I am able to do something for her after I had messed up several times.

I have to be at the warehouse first before the safe house. I have been in touch with Trenton since I got into the car and he's driving to the safe house.

I arrived there in less than forty minutes. The safe house is more like a really large cabin, laced with modernity; glass doors and windows, a modern looki

Alpha Michael's POV: My fingers tightened around the plastic bag in my hand and I tried not to look fazed by the man sitting on my couch in my house! At first, I decided I was going to be cool about this. If Catherine had assured me that nothing was going on between them, then who was I not to take her word for it? Julia was the first to see me and she looked away even before I could smile at her. Jason on the other hand, kept talking in fast, excited tones with the man who looked really interested in whatever gibberish he was mouthing off. I stood there, contemplating on either making a move or just going back out and taking a drive to cool my head. But I'd decided that I wasn't going to react terribly to this. Hell, I'd seen enough for this week. Peter was almost bringing my company to the ground and I wasn't going to let something this insignificant affect me. So I cleared my throat and walked into the living room, plastering a fake smile on my face. Catherine s

Catherine's POV: Seeing John here today had been unexpected. Impromptu, in fact. Not a call or a text had he dropped before he decided to show her and I believed he had done it for a reason. He probably wanted to see Michael. The man who had thrown me out. The kids on the other hand were really happy to see him but it was far from that for me. I was nervous. Michael was to return later that afternoon and honestly, all I had done was try to dispose of him off before his return. Owing to how things always turned out each time John's name was mentioned, I didn't want a repeat of that to happen. It was even going to be worse with John around and the kids all over him. But John seemed to have other ideas. He was bent on staying and spending time with the kids, giving excuses of not seeing them for so long and wanting to spend time with them. Then he had gone ahead to ask the kids if they wanted him around and of course, they agreed with enthusiastic nods of thei

Catherine's POV: My heart jumped when I heard the clatter of John's fork against his plate. Jason looked at me and I gave him a reassuring smile, not wanting him to worry over this. Michael didn't look like he was taking any of this anymore and to be very honest, John wasn't helping things either. I'd expected him to keep quiet and even try to respect the fact that he was in Michael's home. I was ready for Michael's backlash. John needed to learn that he had to respect boundaries and people's home. Of course, I knew he hated Michael with everything within him but making it this obvious was the wrongest thing to do. "I came to visit Catherine and the kids." Michael nodded and began to push his food around his plate with his fork. I had no idea why seeing him so calm scared the hell out of me. I'd expected him to lash out at least. I'd expected him to pour out his anger on either of us both but he didn't. Now, I wasn't used to Michael being calm in situations like

Catherine's POV: As soon as John walked out of the dining room, I turned to Michael but he was eerily quiet. My heave came out shaky. I had no idea what to say. I had no idea what exactly to tell him so I kept silent and went back to eating. I realized I'd lost all appetite and looked over to Michael. It was the same with him. He was also pushing his food around his plate. Sighing, I pushed my plate back and faced him fully. "Michael—" "I don't want to talk if that's what you are about to do, Michael." He replied, his voice stone cold. Blinking, I nodded. "Of course. I understand that you're mad at me. But I promise there's nothing—" "I said, I don't want to talk!" Michael banged his fist on the table again and this time, I heard a split. My eyes fleeted over to the middle of the table and I saw that his fist had created a split on the table. He pushed to his feet and tossed his napkin into his plate before walking out of the dining room. I sat ther

Alpha Michael's POV: As soon as she left, I kicked the seat closest to me, sending it flying into the nearest wall. One of the legs split from the chair itself as it crashed to the ground. My fists clenched and unclenched as I tried to control my outburst. But how could I do that when I could barely compose my thoughts. The surprise that had come with seeing John, the man who had taken care of Catherine and the kids in my absence, was more than I had expected to be. Infact, I wasn't expecting him there. That must have been the reason I didn't control myself. For most part of being around him, I wanted to be cool about him being there. I wanted to look like I wasn't the least offended that he had somehow found this place and decided that visiting without informing Catherine was the right thing to do. But when I found out that he was doing everything he was doing to rile me up, I fucking lost it. I wanted to rip his head out of his fucking neck. I wanted to ask him to l

Catherine's POV: I watched him walk away in tears. Surely, he didn't mean anything he said. It had to be a lie and I chose not to take his words for it. I shook with sobs, suddenly losing the will to continue the book I was reading. Pushing my seat back, I picked my book and tossed the content of my cup onto the grass before retiring to go back to my room. I remained in bed, sobbing softly and wondering what I had done to deserve any of this. Just when things were going fine, John had come into the scene, destroying the bond we were already starting to build up. I finally fell asleep to the sound of rain dropping on the windows. It was cold tonight and I checked on the kids to make sure they were fully covered before I went back to bed. The next morning, I woke up to shouts from the living room. The kids. They were playing. Michael's voice came and I knew he was with them. Sighing, I leaned back into the bed, not wanting to see anyone yet. I wished Michael c

Catherine's POV: Breakfast was waiting by the time I arrived and kids were already done with their meals. Michael had just started eating and their personal maid carted them out of the room, leaving us both to eat together. Heaving a sigh, I picked my fork and tried not to be aware of the fact that he was seated directly close to me. The only sounds that were heard minutes later were our forks hitting our plates and gulping sounds from drinking water and Juices. “Catherine." I snapped my head up to look at Michael. He was staring at me now, one hand resting on the other. "Yes?" "About last night..." My chest squeezed. He was mentioning it again and I wasn't sure I could take it so I decided to speak. "I don't think I would love to talk about it. You said what you said last night and I totally understand. I can't fault you for not reciprocating my feelings." He raised his brows in askance. "Is that what you think? That I don't reciprocate your feelings.

Alpha Michael's POV: The elders had called for a meeting before I could leave for the safe house. According to Trenton, a lot needed to be talked about in regards to the kids and Catherine and for the first time, I wondered if it was so hard for those men to shut the fuck up and actually mind their businesses. Well, they weren't to be blamed, honestly. They were looking out for the Pack. But didn't they have other important things to worry about? Trenton tailed behind me as we walked into the courtroom. The aisle flanked seven elders on each side, all looking displeased and as soon as I took my seat, one of the men stood to his feet. "Your majesty, thank you for honoring our invitation." "Like I have an option." I started nonchalantly. "So why have I been summoned?" He cleared his throat. "In regards to the issue with your divorced Luna, it has a lot of people talking." "And how does that in any way concern me?" "We have been talking about this for a l

A week after Doctor John and Jennifer died, Michael succeeded in suing his brother and his accomplices in court while he punished the ministers of his pack with demotion and exile. Lots of them pleaded for a second chance but he was deaf ears to their pleas.I was still wounded by the death of John, I wished he would come back to life and amend his ways.At times, I feel guilty. Would he have lived if I tied his wound with my jacket or was he just destined to die? If I had known that there were other motives behind him, I wouldn't have bothered taking him to that hospital, but he might not have survived if I had taken him to my pack. His death is one tragedy that I didn't wish to happen, but I will have to console myself that he brought it upon himself by plotting death on my Alpha.I was lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling continuously. I was unaware when Alpha walked into the room. He touched my cheek, bringing me back to reality.“We have a visitor,” he announced and I hissed.

  • TAKING BACK MY EX-LUNA   Chapter: One Hundred & Thirty-Eight

CATHERINE’S POV The incident drew the attention of the people around, but the most difficult thing was that the culprit was not seen, and that made people contemplate what was going on. Seeing John in a pool of blood made me share his pain with him, so the least I could do at that moment was call the ambulance to come over as quickly as possible. I squatted beside him, trying to fish out the mastermind that he was talking about. I wonder why he's so foolish that he will still want me back at this point when he's very sure that I don't think about it. “I have to tell Michael what is going on….” I brought out my cell phone and dialed his number, and luckily he picked up immediately. “Doctor John was shot, but the culprit was not seen,” I announced to him. He scoffed. “It's that just it? Take him to the hospital and come back to the palace. Are you sure you weren't the target?” “That I don't know.'' I gulped. “Looked like he wanted to spill a secret and got shot because he said some

CATHERINE’S POVSome miles away from the secret building where the hacker was staying, we saw five men all dressed in suits walking into the building. I felt devastated, I wouldn't want them to see us or it might be a bloodbath. “What do we do?” I asked Trenton, but he said nothing, rather he pulled out his cell phone and placed the hacker on a call.My heart was beating faster, he couldn't meet with them or he was a dead meat. But, why would they put a tracker on our car? To kill us on the way when they are sure that we must come after her huh? No way, he mustn't be caught, we must return to the palace alive.“Don't take the front route, and don't even take the back. Go through the basement.” Trenton said to him.I was terrified. “Won't he be caught there? Is there a way out from there?” I asked, quivering.I put him into this matter and he began working for us. If I lose him this way, I will never have peace of mind. That's why he must live no matter what.Trenton handed the car key

CATHERINE'S POVWe successfully rescued the women, and that made me so happy. Now, we are done with that part, and the moment Alpha thought of heading to go see the Great Alpha, he got a message that Jennifer was waiting for him, dressed like a wanderer.Due to that, he canceled going to see the Alpha and postponed it to the next time. I hated that she was around, but I was curious to know the reason she was waiting for us, and that's why I was never against going back home because of her.The best thing we could do was to call for more vehicles to get the women in, they will have to stay in the palace until everything is resolved, or there's a possibility of Peter taking their lives to not be exposed.Jennifer was standing before us, her top torn into two as she vomited everything she had to say, but what I wasn't expecting was that she would be shot. I wonder if she was the target, why would she be shot the moment she was coming closer to me? She fell into my arms and vomited a mout

JENNIFER’S POVFor years now, I've always let him have his way with me because it looked like I was in his cage. He used the way he wanted, reminding me all the time that Michael would never love me again since I cheated on him. But one thing no one knows about all this was that he planned it all because I refused to be his date…..so the only way to tarnish my image was drugging and forcing himself on me, then revealing it to Michael.I wanted to tell the truth about all that took place, but he promised to make sure Michael lost his title or his life if I ever exposed the truth. He had to do that since I am in a contract with Michael and that's one reason he can't sack me.Tears dropped from my eyes while he was busy loosening his trousers. Even if it's just this once, I have saved myself from his wrath. There's no way I'll still be his toy when he's out to get rid of his brother despite the agreement.“Just stay still! Don't cause a commotion here, let's do it peacefully so your soul

ALPHA MICHAEL’S POVSeeing the way the Minister of Defense gave in to dying without spilling out the producer of the substance he's administering makes me think that they are into an oath. He's the third person that I'm punishing, and they never opened up on who their mastermind is, but I have that feeling that Peter is responsible for all that. The meeting has been dismissed and the next step to take is to rescue the caged women. If I take too long, they will either be killed or taken away ... or maybe end up being sold like they planned.Hours ago, I had a bad feeling about my family, but the guards over there reassured me that they were all okay, and that gave me peace of mind.“Can we just round everything up tomorrow? I miss my kids already when it's not up to three days.” Catherine walked in, already dressed. We are heading out all together, and from there, I will head over to see the Great Alpha to report everything to him. He needs to do something, I'll end up executing them

PETER’S POV Nothing was going as I planned, I wondered why it's so difficult to get rid of that Omega who thinks she can be an obstruction to me. Before me were my men standing with their heads bowed low, I felt like chopping off their heads over this issue. “Don't expect a dime from me until you get rid of her, you incompetent fools.” I cursed. Why would they assume she's dead when she's not? And now, she's back in the palace, sitting with Michael, and is resisting every accusation. “I just hope she gets no clue to prove her innocence, and Michael will have no option than to execute her—or the whole of you are dead.” I shrieked at them. This was getting on my nerves, the way everything is turning upside down is pissing me off. I planned to get rid of her without John's awareness, he had thought he was that smart ... but he's mistaken because I'll get rid of him as well when I'm done with Catherine and my brother. I got seated with my legs crossed, thinking of what to do next with

ALPHA MICHAEL’S POVThe moment I stood up from my throne, the image of my kids flashed in my mind. I glanced at Catherine, hoping that they were okay. I've been speaking with the chief guard over there and he has always assured me that everything is okay. My next plan is to be able to connect with the cameras there from my laptop—I'll have to speak to the hacker about that. The minister of Justice came forth since he was the next in command after the chief minister and his deputy, he signaled the guards at the door, and the door was opened. Two hefty men walked in with the corpse lying above them.“Your Majesty, this is the corpse she murdered. Please look into this and let justice take over.” the minister of Justice uttered.I sniffed. What an asshole? “Are you saying that I have never justified a case?”He shook his head. “No, Your Majesty, please don't misunderstand me. This has to do with murder, and so you shouldn't let it slide.” I burst into laughter. “Seriously? I shouldn't l

ALPHA MICHAEL’S POVI knew they must have planned another evil before telling me that Catherine committed murder. For goodness sake, I wonder if these old geezers will ever come to their senses and quit their stupid acts. They had the guts to tell me that Catherine isn't a Luna yet, bringing in another law that I didn't approve of, making me wonder how badly they want me dethroned.I'll patiently wait for them to scramble whatever it is all in the name of the victim that Catherine murdered, not when I know that an innocent soul will lose his or her life at this spot—but at least, I'll use it against them.I lifted my face, staring at the guard that just announced what I wasn't expecting. “Did you just say the CCTV?”He nodded. “Everything was restored by itself.”I glanced at Catherine whose face was covered with shock. How will this be explained? I can't tell if the hacker did it since I never ordered such a thing, or did Catherine do it? I tapped her, “Did you...?”She shook her hea
