chapter 4

Skylar POV

One month later

I can now walk though i still relied on my wheelchair but i can now stand and my walk is a bit bumpy

It like learning steps, baby steps

"You almost there" the nurse cheered me on

I grunted and take another step my leg almost failed me but i took a deep breath to stabilize myself I took another step and staggered 

"Come on you can do it" the nurse continue cheering even though I'm tired 

I looked at her and she smiled at me urging me continue

I took another step and staggered really hard this thing

"Shit I almost fell" I muttered with gritted teeth 

My back was soaked with sweat i can feel as my sweat drip from my face to my hospital gown

My hair was not left out,I felt the heat all over my body

"Come on Skylar just 10 steps left" the nurse reminded me

I took another step and 

"Ahhhh!!" I screamed as the world seems to rotate I closed my eyes and await the pain as I hit the floor 

"Gotcha"

His deep intoxicating voice sounded near my ear

I shivered and smelled his manly perfume mix with aroma of beef and it kind of make a good smell,I know who it was even before I opened my eyes

"Thank ya" I chuckled and opened my eyes slowly and just as I thought it Leon

"You welcome my Lady" he replied jokingly

I giggled 

"Hmmmm" the nurse cleared her throat as to remind us she's still here

"She still have 10 more steps to go" she said to Leon 

"It enough for today you can tell she's exhausted" Leon replied

"But the doctor…"

"It enough for today" Leon cut her off with ferocious gaze scaring her 

"Leon you are scaring her" I can't help to interrupt

His gaze turn to me and it soften a bit 

"Let get you to your bed"

He lifted me in bridal style and I snuggled into his arm

"Here" he kept me in the bed

"You had lunch??" I asked as he smelled like beef

"Yes had a lunch appointment with my business partner Daniel will get yours soon" he replied

"Can I go home if I perfect my steps?" I asked as I was already grown sick of the hospital

He smiled and patted my hair

"You can't wait to get home huh?" I nodded with excitement

"The doctor said you still have to undergo some test you will go home soon"

"I have to master my steps so I can get home I'm fed up of this place" I groaned with a frown

"How about we go for a walk" Leon suggested 

"Great!" I beamed and he pulled my wheelchair for me to sit on

"Let's get some fresh air" I giggled

Stacy stood in the kitchen packing food into a lunch box

She was immersed in it that she didn't notice when her Mom came in

"Stacy" Diana called softly

Stacy turned to her Mom and nodded

She continued packing

"Who's that for?" Diana asked

"Skylar of course" she replied raising her brow 

"Why?? You keep caring about Skylar that you even ignored me these days"

"Mom you should know am not doing this for Skylar's sake,it all for Leon" Stacy replied a little pissed up

"Ohhh I see,is she getting discharged any time soon?" Diana asked with worried expression 

"No Mom why ask?"Stacy replied

"Just that am afraid of her memories…."

"Mom don't be worried Skylar isn't getting her memory anytime soon so this is our chance to win her favor, I have no idea why Daddy isn't doing anything to her but I believe it for the best" Stacy cuts in

"Whatever you can go and try win Leon favor but don't try too hard remember you've got Mommy" Diana urged and patted her shoulder

Stacy smiled and continued with what she was doing

   Skylar POV

"Yay! This is great" I beamed and spread my arms with excitement

It good to see the weather, to feel the sun on my skin 

I don't know for how long have been laying on bed but I need this I know I do

"You like it??"

I nodded my head in response to Leon's question

I breath in the fresh sweet smell of the flower and giggled

We are in the pack opposite the hospital

 

"Careful Bia" I heard a woman screamed

And felt someone bump into me 

"Ouch" 

A cute little girl about 5 whined and looked up at me with teary eyes

She pouted her mouth as if she's blaming me for staying in her way

"Hey" I said with a smile

"Get out of my way"she hissed

I widen my eyes in suprise I wasn't expecting that from her

"What did you just said?" I heard Leon cold voice I can't help but shiver 

"What did you just said" he repeated with more force this time and the little one get scared and burst into tears

"Wahhh!" She cried and moved back looking at Leon with horror

"Leon, she's just a kid, why scare her?" I complained with accusation gaze

"Can't you see the way she talked to you? She just…"

"She knows nothing she's just a little one" I cut in

"But she just bumped into you and…"

I chuckled I can't believe Leon scared this little girl because of me 

I tuned to her 

"Come sweetie don't mind him, he's the bad……" 

"What did you do to my daughter?" I heard a loud voice and can't help to turn to the direction

I met a furious gaze and i was a bit frightened

"What the hell did you do to my daughter?" 

The little cried harder and her Mom was really furious

"She bumped into me and…."

"Bumped into you? You mean her?" She cuts in pointing to her daughter

"You are in the way but you have guts to say she bumped into you come on tell me something else" she snapped

I felt Leon's hand tightened on my wheelchair and I know he's getting angry

I place my hand on his and his gaze met mine,I shake my head no to stop him from whatever he wants to say

"You think I have time for your romantic show,Apologize" She shouted 

My eyes narrowed and I felt like I had enough of her

"Ma'am your daughter bumped into me,my husband was even trying to scare her but I felt she's just a little girl so i don't even…."

"Apologize" she snapped with her hands on hips

"Apologize? For what?" Leon spoke to her for the first time i can dictate the anger in his voice

"She just…" 

"She did what? Hit your daughter?" Leon Interrupted

"No.. But she...she just…" the woman stuttered,her eyes were filled with tears out of fear for Leon

"Whatever come on Bia let go it not worth it arguing with this wicked couple"she pulled her daughter and turned to leave

I sized her up and can't help but sigh

'she's just some trouble maker'

They crossed to the other side of the road and I turned to Leon I opened my mouth to talk but something unexpectedly happened

" Bia!" I heard the woman screamed, I looked up in her direction and saw her daughter running from across the road 

My eyes went round with fear it seems she's trying to cross to my side 

I saw a car coming, the car was running really fast and she's already in the middle of the road

"Bia!" Her Mom cried

I wheeled my chair before Leon can stop me

"Skylar, what are you doing?" He asked and quickly followed me to stop me but I was determined to save her 

Leon held my chair and I had no choice and to stand up and run to her

"Skylar!" Leon yelled in shock

I ran as fast as I can and caught Bia before the car hit her 

I covered her with my body and closed my eyes awaiting the car hit

"Screeee" 

I heard the tire of the car sound then I was pulled into a strong arm

I pant and relaxed a bit 

"What did you just do?" Leon said with shaky voice

"Bia" Bia's Mom quickly hug her

I suddenly felt tired and my head immediately started pounding me

"Ouch" I whined

"What's wrong?" Leon asked with worry laced in his voice

"I...ouch….Ahhhhh" I screamed and held my head with both hands

My head was pounding me,it hurts and felt as if thousand ants are crawling in my brain,my hands started shaking and my knee felt like rubber,I started breathing heavily

I whimpered

"It hurts...it hurts...Ahhhh" I screamed louder this time

"Skylar! Skylar, what's wrong?? Pls Skylar! You are scaring me" I heard Leon panicked voice 

"Skylar..can you...can you hear me?"

I felt as his chest falls and rise he also had difficulty breathing

"Skylar pls..I.can."

His voice gets smaller and I tried to fight my eyes open but it was of no use
